Why Japanese do people obsess with cherry blossoms? One of my friends asked me. So I made a video. If you watch this video, you probably understand why people get excited by sakura, especially Hanami. I went to Hanami to Yoyogi park on 21st March 2023 and shot what was happening in there. So enjoy watching the footage as well while understanding what the Hanami really means for Japanese people and where this custom came from. Let me know how you feel bout the history of hanami, and Sakura is actually in danger to extinct in Japan.

Excellent video but surprised to see that the cultural importance behind the beautiful trees is fading away like many things in Japan and also the rest of the world. My daughter and family just arrived there from Colorado 2 days ago to see the sights in Tokyo and Kyoto. I hope the beauty of the trees overshadow the drunk fest underneath them.
