Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The best step between an entry-level sportbike and literbike? Enter the 2024 Kawasaki ZX-6R, Kawasaki didn’t need to reinvent the wheel when it came time to update the ZX-6R. So why is it so important to even keep around? In this first ride we take a look at what has changed and why Kawasaki says it's integral to its lineup.

They still make it because it's a badass bike. I just bought a 2023 ZX6R KRT edition and I don't regret it at all. Love this bike! Also the new twins and bikes like the Yamaha R7 are not a replacement for an inline 4.
Owned a 2012 ZX-6R and was bummed I didn't wait one more year when they reintroduced the 636 in 2013. I enjoyed so many rides and learned so much when I had mine. Glad they are still making them despite stricter emissions regulations.
I'm glad they released a new gen, and the tft and led lights look great, I wish they had put a throttle by wire and then a blipper to go with the quick shifter. That would have been perfect in my opinion. I'm glad they didn't touch the suspension because now all the aftermarket that's been out for the 2013-2018/2019-2023 models will work on this new gen too. When my track bike is done I can put my cartridge kit and rear shock on a new zx6, if I'm lucky enough to get another one someday!
I have been riding a kawasaki z650 for a few years, and having gotten the chance to ride a zx6r in the last week I fell in love. I am glad they are still showing love to 600cc class. I got to ride a liter bike and it was just crazy the acceleration is intoxicating but its too fast for me to use and too much $$$ for me in my life right now. One day I am sure I will own one but for the foreseeable future I am going to be so happy on the zx6r.
everyone wants a smaller bike now.. even i was looking at the 400rr. BUT, once i saw the power to weight of the 400rr, i was like "WHAT?!" it's only 15lbs lighter than a ZX6R but 50hp LESS? dude, the ZX6R is under $2,000 more and it's SO MUCH MORE BIKE. i just ordered a 2024 ZX6R anniversary. all they need is a full exhaust and a tune and you're dropping 20lbs and putting down 750cc power! no 400rr on earth can compare..
It exists because it's like 7 grand less than ZX10R and has more useable gears & RPM range for everyday driving. It's goldilocks bike, good for going fast but also good for twisties and back roads.
I loved the 2001 zx6r. This bike must be just amazing. Looking at buying one.
First bike was a G2, then a B2H, and now managed to get one of the first JRFANs in the UK. ZX6R for life 💚
I like kawasaki, the money they're not wasting on motorsports is the money they put in RnD and keeping awsome bikes alive
Why not? It is not the best quality bike you can get but the engine and suspension are great and price is pretty good. I love my 2012 ZX6R. Does great around town and whats more important it is epic on a race track.

what do you mean by not the best quality? What are you basing that one? Curious to know. I've owned two ZX-6R's myself, ridden HARD (track etc) and they have been ~flawless~. Nothing ever broke, failed, or fell apart. Quality could NOT have been better on mine. My yamaha R6 on the other hand... :(

@@grantmccarron3963 I think he's just echoing what was said in the video; Kawi intentionally uses mid/upper mid-range componentry in the bike to keep the price point accessible to more people. I love Kawasaki for that reason; they make bikes for the people lol.

@@grantmccarron3963 I'm talking about the build quality. Don't know if you ever owned other bikes but previously I had cbr600rr and gsxr750. Comparing to those bikes Kawasaki's built quality is way off. I imagine that is the reason why it is relatively cheaper. Otherwise as I already mentioned engine and mechanicals are perfect and reliable. Never had a problem with my zx6r ever even though I use it for commute and track days as well.

@@mogthemoogle_160 I'm comparing it to the bikes I have owned previously. For example cbr600rr. Built quality and materials are much better on a Honda. And you are correct Kawasaki costs relatively cheap because it cuts down the cost on such things.

@@bxl1121 I disagree about Suzuki's build quality being superior though, at least compared to current generation Kawasaki's. I have a 2018 z900rs and a 2022 GSXR 750 in my garage right now, and the Gixxer is definitely a lot more plasticky and utilizes more cheap push-pins and hardware. It has better componentry, but the build quality is definitely not as nice as the z900RS. Although, those two bikes aren't really in the same class, so probably not the best comparison.
Kudos to Kawasaki for keeping the ZX6R updated. Just wish Honda would bring the updated 24 600RR to the US.
My second bike is a 2019 zx6r krt and boy oh boy I lucked up. I love the bike and agree with almost every word in this vid 😂 noobie but this bike makes me feel like a Isle of Man TT winner 🏆
that 24 zx6r has more power on low mid and high compare to 19-23 after a flash and full exhaust. it produces 128 whp thats the same as a gsxr 750 lol
I rode a friend’s 2004 636 and it was great. I might buy a new one in a couple years.
When did the European emission start affecting the ZX6R.? Like what year did they make it so they had to start following the rules.?
I like the new look.
I ride a 2011 Kawasaki zx6r, and I love my bike. I am disappointed that they lowered the rpm's, I love my bike on the track topping out at 17 thousand, it makes a big difference on the track. I will keep my bike for as long as I can.

It gets fixed once you turn everything it which once you get an exhaust you have to tune it anyway. Plus it makes more power than the previous gen once it gets tuned due to the change they made to the engine.
Brock Davidson had one that ran 9's in the quarter. Amazing for a basically stock 600 4 banger. Not into supersports, but it would be my pick. Inexexpensive for what you get.
I bought a 21 zx6r. First sportbike. The engine is phenomenal! It is so stable. Power is nasty but can ride it calmly. Plenty of power everywhere. Brakes a little weak but fine. Suspension is great! You don’t need to adjust crap and I am 200 lbs. I smile every second I ride it. About 1 hour ride a day for pure enjoyment❤
The did the right thing. As a former ninja 400 rider I wanted to move up to this from year one. Choices like the R7 or cbr650r weren't my thing and going to a old supersport or a liter bike wouldn't be either.

Just got a 40th anniversary ZX6 and love it but for street it needs taller bars and Heli bars saved the day, 1.5 inches taller and 3/4 inch wider make ergos almost like the comfy ZX4RR. The muffler and midpipe weigh 13 pounds more than Graves slip on and is way to quiet but now sounds great with Graves. Bike is geared pretty low so I am considering adding 1 tooth to the front, the quickshift up only is complete bullshit from Kawi as even the ZX4RR has it up and down. Once modified its almost perfect and love the throw back colors!
For the rest of us who don't have (in the city) or really go to a circuit, we only race between traffic lights (half a mile). So mid size bike is the best choice not a litter bike.

More of a naked bike rider but I must admit it’s a nice motorcycle: nice lines looks well built. Too bad it’s been choked out with emissions. It would probably cost 3k easy to bring that bike up to snuff
The only thing im not liking about the tft, is the laggy screen response, and the lack of top end when i ride highway

Flash the ECU and the top end is there.
Aside from the obvious differences in tech and price, how does the new ZX6R and GSX750 compare on the street in terms of feel and power usability? I've always heard the GSXR750 is the best of all worlds when it comes to the sport bike class, but it's hard to ignore the updates and development that Kawasaki has made. Good lookin scoot. My chiropractor say "Nyet!"
Why did I buy the 2024 zx6r instead of a zx10r? Simple, I didn't want nor need a 186mph machine, I don't want or need something that requires me to go tippy toe when stopped at a stop sign or light! I have a 2023 Ninja 400, it's fun, it's light and very nimble, the 636 gives you a bit more in every way, but not more than what you ever need. If I just want to cruise around, the 400 does it perfectly, if I feel I need to release my inner demon, than the 636 will do just perfectly. For a weekend road trip.....well nothing will beat my Honda VFR800 Interceptor for me.
The question is not why they still build it. The question is why they still haven't managed to put an autoblibber and cruise control on it. They have electronic throttle, haven't they?

I keep saying if BMW does make a "600cc motorcycle", it will take the world by storm! and I will continue to say so. 600s are more practical for daily street riding all day long over the liter bikes. id trade a liter bike for a 600cc bmw sport bike any day.
Why does this weigh 430 lbs while CBR 600 RR is 410 and GSXR 600 is 412 lbs. New to motorcycles in the US. Interested in inline 4 supersport. Any insight helps. The price is attractive but the weight is not.
Zx6r ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hate the TFT though.
I think reasonable people don't really care much about the power figures anymore. i4 600ccm are a ideal mid range bike, and Japanese manufacturers have a design that is proven through the times. You can always mod it if you want more performance.
FOR THE PRICE THE BEST YOU CAN ALWAYS REPLACE ALL THOSE PARTS LIKE ANY OTHER BIKE. YOU WANT A BETTER BIKE IT WILL COST YOU DOUBLE OR MORE

How much peak hp did it lose?
@alfredorodriguez4539

It is just the ECU restriction's, after a flash and a proper filter she's good. Loses are around: 110hp at 12.700rpm then 74hp at 14.300rpm and it cuts really bad, and unrestricted is 117-120hp all the last rpm's. So from the restricted 75hp at peak power to 120hp (14.300rpm) at unrestricted state.... thats quite alot dont you think?

5 ай бұрын
@@alfredorodriguez4539didn’t they drop the compression ratio? Fixing that is a different problem. A flash is nice if thats all thats needed
I still think it’s too expensive. Unless you are addicted to a race track or twisties the bike is not practical for a daily driver. Inevitably you will be invited on a long run with a bunch of liter bikes are even just bigger bikes and by the end of the day you will be wore out and your friends will be just fine.
so weird that it isn't ride by wire and doesn't have the blipper, just because the ZX4RR and ZX25R both have those features, would have thought they'd carry it up to the ZX6R refresh along with the TFT display, especially since the shocks, breaks and fairing all look so much like those smaller models
