    I'm a Chinese who immigrated to America as a student. I agree that "immigration" in many western countries are being abused and taken advantage of. This is also very upsetting for those of us legal immigrants who earned our place by studying hard, being top of our class, graduated with advanced degrees, and lawfully waited in line for a better life -- only to have 10000000 illegal immigrants who cuts in line, abuse the system and commit crimes. Immigration laws must be enforced, immigration status must be merit and rule based. No country should just let in people whose first act to a new country is to break the immigration law.

    Sure, except if you watch the video, you can see the right has created the problem and now it's offering "solutions". Real solutions, though, especially in an aging society, are something entirely different, like those that Denmark is carrying out. The far-right Italian gov't has promised to close the country to immigrants and hinted at mass deportation, but one of their first acts was to plan for HALF MILLION immigrants to come to Italy in a 3 years period. And this happened after having denounced the previous gov't for less than a third of that number. Because that's what the right always does: they create the problem, dupe gullible people offering "solutions", do what they want when they're in power, and repeat... They just need to expertly control the narrative, nothing more

    As a Dutch immigrant I can tell you that the definition encompasses all. In fact, the video is pretty annoying in that it plays tight and loose with its definition of foreigner. Sometimes they mean people that don't live there for 5 years (7% of the population) and in other statistics they use the same word for foreigner but now they also talk about second (sometime even third) generation immigrants. The video is more polarizing than explanatory imo, it displays statistics with confusing definitions, and it leaves out other important topics (like assimilation) from the debate.

Marseille, etc, these are the cities where the migrants go to. There’s plenty of native French people in poverty in Paris like I said. 69% of violent robberies and other violent crimes, including sexual assaults, on public transport in the greater Paris region of Île-de-France were perpetrated by foreign nationals, according to the annual figures of the SSMSI, the statistics bureau of the French Ministry of Interior. 69%!! How are the french to blame for building cheap housing for foreign people? I mean what do you expect? That they get penthouses in downtown paris? These cheap appartements were originally built for the french lower class and they werent getthos when french people lived there. Under the same, arguably worde economical condotions. Wether cheap housing becomes a ghetto is 100% up to its inhabitants and their culture. They werent "forced into getthos". Then the people will flee to where there is a safety. If you don't want immigration, stop the imperialistic wars that openly advocate domination and regime changes. The US alone has destroyed many many countries in few decays. France has also played negitive part in West Africa's politics. Well that’s what happens when you colonised half the world and in the case of france are still colonising. Eventually people want their money and resources back and come knowing for it like a debt collector. You thought all that cheap oil and uranium was because you self sustaining? No it’s because France installs puppet dictators in its old colonies so it can appear to have given independence but not really. Why do you think all old French colonies are dictatorships riddled with corruption? Cause anyone who tries change that gets taken out by france, see if the people were to elect someone who doesn’t want to play ball with france and give permits for oil, wood and uranium for free then they get killed and they just put someone else in power that serves their interests. Meanwhile the population starves as a result but you want to tell them go back home when you won’t stay home. Stop meddling in African politics and exploiting these people and they won’t have any reason to come to Europe it’s as simple as that.

    thats one thing that drives me crazy about Muslims in general. My grandmothers family moved to the US from Norway, learned English, got jobs, and became citizens; they kept part of their native culture but still integrated. My stepmom and a ton of my friends came from Thailand, learned English, got jobs, and integrated too. When Muslims are the minority though they rarely integrated, are often hostile towards the local culture, and often end up causing problems long term. In Thailand there's a muslim minority that came over to Thailand over 1000 years ago and they still have a separatist movement and terrorist attacks are depressingly common and it's a similar story in India where the Hindu majority have centuries old issues with the Muslims who arrived centuries ago.

    Historical example of what? in the middle east they take slaves to do their jobs for them, while sitting on oil reserves to fund their lifestyle. Why don't immigrants go there? it's closer, it's a more familiar tradition, culture and religion than in europe. Idealism rarely survives when the world is in good shape, when you poke a beehive enough times, that changes things completely, idealism is the way to go for people to stop being sensitive about the fact some things just aren't meant to be there. It's radical, there could've been a million different better alternatives, but certain political views decided it's better to call you a racist when you see something that isn't similar to your view, suppress things long enough and that's what you get, an explosive and radical response.

    No we do not. We are told by every successive government that they will stop immigration and then they don’t. They lie to us and they do nothing to shut the borders. If you think that any of the native population of Europe wants immigration to continue, you are very much mistaken. What is happening now in Europe is that the natives are getting very very angry. If immigration does not fall the people will revolt and immigrants will pay the price rather than those elected leaders who allowed this state to continue.

  • @1nONLY_DRock
    @1nONLY_DRockАй бұрын

    There's still an obligation to any immigrant population to contribute positively and integrate into society. Can't do that? Then the native population has every right to ask the immigrants to integrate peacefully or leave. It also doesn't help that most western nations are stagnating, they're in a recession, and that additional immigration only adds further stress to these countries. If there were plenty of jobs and not enough people this wouldn't be an issue. That's not the case any more.

    The French tend to forget two things: Algeria was a part of France. Not a colony, actually a "département" of France. So when Algeria separated, many chose to stay French. Second, when the french auto industry was booming during the 1950's and 60's, they wanted cheap, non unionized workers. So Renault, Peugeot, and Citroën scouted the Maghreb for the most ignorant, illiterate, and desperately poor people they could find to bring them to France to work in their factories. These people tend to be religiously and socially conservative, not the most adaptable population to a Western country. Then, a cheaper alternative appeared, robots. The auto assembly lines went from 900 unqualified workers to 3 industrial robotics specialists. So these immigrants were dumped into their ghettos, out of sight and out of peoples minds. Now, surprise, the problem festered into a stinking abscess. I was already saying 20 years ago that these "cités dortoir" are going to be a big problem in a decade. But politicians dont look further than their term of office.

    The French problem with foreign immigrants and second generation immigrants, is exactly the same here, in The Netherlands. Over the last several decades I have been many times confronted with juvenile criminals who threatened me, in once case so seriously that I was afraid for my life. In every case, it was second generation Moroccan youths, not always male. I have never been threatened by native Dutch youths or native Dutch of any age: not once. In the last election, I did not vote for our anti-immigration candidate, Geert Wilders, but I completely understand why he was the biggest winner in our last election. I am also shocked at the antisemitism and the degree of support for Hamas terrorists in this country. Sometimes it appears to be foolish WOKE children who know nothing of history taking a pro-terrorist stance, but this movement is mostly driven by Muslims in Europe. I am a Jew, liberal and wholly integrated into the Enlightened Western cultural and philosophical ethos, yet I was recently insulted and threatened by a Moroccan electrician whom I had hired to repair a light switch in my home. When he realized that I was a Jew he started to spout fundamentalist Islamic propaganda, all lies, at me. He left after having completed the repair in a way that was unsafe. I had to hire another electrician to repair his repair. Because these kinds of experiences are becoming common in my country, The Netherlands, I am sure that there are no native Dutch people who do not also have these experiences. More people should read Douglas Murray's book on this subject: The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity, Islam.

But to do any of that, there needs to be an attempt to not increase the problem. Stopping illegals and at least drastically decreasing the rather insane rate of new asylum seekers will give countries the chance to work on the problem. Therefore, in those riot, you mostly see african people. Also, LePen have always warned us about the rise of immigration, it's danger and the rise of violence. It's not just since the last elections. She was a visionary but France was too slow to realize she was right. Finaly, you are simply wrong for saying that poverty creates crime. The poor french are not becoming criminal yet the poor african immigrants are becoming criminals. Keep in mind, when you say "foreigners are 41% of theft" that it doesn't count 2nd generation immigrants. :)

    Poverty is one thing, having less to zero opportunities and lack of integration is another. Immigrants in the US hardly cause problems compared to those of Europe even if they originally belonged to the same country. Heck, nowadays 'the American dream' is probably powered more by immigrants than white or black Americans. Europe needs to ask themselves what the US is doing right that they could not do

    It's made even worse when there is little support for the difficulty in integrating. That plus the ghettoization leading to entire communities being cut off from the broader society, means that even those with the will to become part of the new society will lack the tools and support one needs to do so. Not to mention that the French system for assistance with integration is largely memorization followed by tests and classroom lectures. That's one of the least effective ways to learn any language. Let alone a culture.

    I was born in Ukraine, moved to the USA then to Spain. Very different cultures. The key to adapting is to first realize that you are responsible for learning the language, customs and attitudes. You alone must find the balance of keeping your own and adapting that of the host country. If you fail to do that in a western country, it’s your own fault. Western countries are by far the most accepting. If you don’t like something the host country does, tough shit.

    It's really interesting. In New Zealand, our indigenous Maori account for less than 20% of the population but more than 50% of the prison population. Enormous efforts and $Billions have spent over many decades to address the issue but it's never enough. So I guess I see parallels. New Zealanders really want to uplift the more disadvantaged members of our indigenous population but some people are just really hard to help. I suspect France and other European countries are experiencing similar problems with their immigrants.

    The pattern is that when you infantilize or apologize to any group, it doesn't help them or lift them up. It happens with individuals, identity groups or even countries, and it is hard to find an exception. Haiti, for example, is a basket case of the world. It has had billions in aid, and over 3000 aid agencies. Conversely, the most successful people in the world are Jewish, and nobody has been more oppressed. Here in NZ, we've turned Maori into a group who are dependent on handouts, and convinced them that they are an oppressed minority.

    It’s not just a foreigners! It’s also their children! And many of them do not want to integrate with the French culture, but they want the French culture to change to be more like them! They integrate and move to places where it’s more expensive. It’s gonna cause that area to have higher crime as well.! I love France! I have been there four times! I love the French people the Gauls and their culture. Gallo Romans and extend other Europeans living there that are only partially French and maybe partially Italian or Spanish Portuguese, German, Greek or Russian! I just love European culture and I don’t want to disappear because it’s the fun the French culture. They are welcoming. I had no problem with them in Paris too! But I would prefer to visit the smaller cities and towns, where more French ethnic live! I went over with someone from France and he believed that 4 million maybe 5 million Arab and Turkish people who are full blood. Also another 2 million are partially Arab and partially French or other European! There is also 1 million people with our origins who might be 25% and 3/4 European or French! He was saying that the full-blooded Arabs don’t integrate into the country, and they stay together most of them and their children and the new immigrants! The ones who are mixed half of them live in those ghettos. And the other half integrated into French society, so Lisa million of them have done so! And another million who are a quarter immigrant extraction and they are well integrated usually! I met people in France who are half Algerian and half French and they looked European Plus I did need some that were a quarter with their grandfather or their grandmother was from Algeria or Morocco and they came from there very early on. They were not religious. And felt they were both especially the half ones. I know European immigrants to France especially from Russia Italy, Greece, Germany, Spain, very well, integrated into French society very well that many of them are already half or a quarter! Because they married into French people, and they became their children and grandchildren especially! Just like European immigrants that immigrated to the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom integrate very very well into all their societies! But it’s very difficult when they’re non-European they were Syrian Lebanese Christians had no problems integrating into European society, especially Italy Sweden, the United Kingdom, Norway, Denmark, that many of them had married into their cultures, especially their children and grandchildren over the past decades. I would even add Germany two is very successful with European immigrants that half or more than half of the children and grandchildren from European backgrounds, have married into the German cultures as well, especially in cities. I think Turks have problems too in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Austria but I would say a good many of them have integrated and married Europeans, but I got half of them have not, and they have no intentions of integrating! Turkey is a different place that some of the Turkish immigrants of Germany, children and grandchildren who are not mixed with Germans or other Europeans I’m moving to Turkey because they found opportunity they are and they like the cultures! I read an article about many Germans have moved to Turkey and then I looked into it. They said many of them are turks who are German citizens and grandchildren. They prefer the lifestyle of turkey than in Germany is because they like to live in a Muslim country too.
