There's a big mistake, Bolivia didn't go to war against Peru and Chile, Bolivia joined with Peru (secretly) against Chile and lost, a war that was caused by them violating international treaties thinking that 2 vs 1 was a win. They lost.

A very common misconception many people have about navies is that they operate strictly on the open seas. This is not the case. Even nations with substantial blue water navies also have elements which operate on inland waters as well.

Summary of the reasons for the War of the Pacific 1. Upon Bolivian and Chilean independence, the previously Spanish borders were not very specific so the new countries signed a few treaties to clarify limits. This was a hot subject because the border was rich in minerals. 2.After a few attempts, the last treaty (1874) designated definitive borders between Bolivia and Chile, and also an area for mutual mining exploitation, and that taxes for mining in each other's part of the mutual zone should not increase for 25 years. So far so good. 3. Peru at the time had an economic rivalry with Chile in terms of mining, so they wanted to get rid of Chilean companies in Bolivia. 4. Bolivia soon increased taxes for Chilean miners (after just 4 years) in a way they could not be paid. In an attempt to seize the Chilean company and put it up for auction, they had violated the Treaty. Peruvian elites were the most interested in participating in this auction to finally buy the Chilean company and were pressuring Bolivia to do this. 5. Peru and Bolivia anticipated a Chilean military reaction so they signed a secret military alliance treaty beforehand and prepared for war. 6. Chile complained about the tax, the violation of the treaty, and requested international arbitration. 7. Bolivia denied any international arbitration. Peru offered to be arbitrator, but Chile first requested them to prove they had no secret alliance with Bolivia. Peru avoided answering that request several times, and so all 3 countries started preparing for upcoming war. 8. Bolivia finally puts the Chilean assets for auction and that very same day Chilean forces enter the disputed territory, Antofagasta, not accepted as really Bolivian anymore because the Treaty had just been violated. There was no resistance given that it was inhabited mostly by Chileans who worked in mines and who welcomed the army. 9. Peru activated the secret alliance and entered the war. 10. Chile defeated Bolivia extremely rapidly, they surrendered, leaving Peru fighting alone. 11. Peru waged a longer war, until Chile got the upper hand in maritime battles, both had quite heroic feats, and Chile eventually arrived to Lima the capital, Peru resisted for years in guerrilla battles until it finally gave up too. 12. New Treaty signed. This time Bolivia is landlocked. This has basically become a national trauma in Bolivia that they have never been able to diggest.

It has a large navy because of Lake Titicaca. It uses the Civilization 2 method of a navy; lakes and the ocean both allow ships. From Civ 3 and later the game could tell the difference between the 2 and only allow battleships and triremes and such on the actual open ocean and not 1 tile lakes.

Bolivia does not has 170 warships . It only has some few speedboats and some river or lake boats. Some others few patrol boats. Navy is called "Armada de Bolivia" for factchecking. And Bolivia itself is a narco-state so Navy helps the business goes very well, being Evo Morales as a declared coca-farmer in Chapare, a Region where no-one can enter with no authorization from those nar-cos

Being a coca farmer is not the same that being a drug dealer. In Peru, Bolivia and northern Chile and Argentina, coca has multiple ceremonial, religious and medicinal uses. Also, Evo Morales ceased to be president in 2019; saying that Bolivia is a narco-state is a misrepresentation. You should read his Wikipedia biography. There's much more to him than what you believe he is. Have you ever considered the possibility of a Native American POTUS?

Mistakes and incorrect stuff: 00:39. Bolivia did not lose territory to Peru and Chile. Both Peru and Bolivia lost territory to Chile. In the War of the Pacific, Peru and Bolivia were allies, Chile won the war. 00:47. After using Google and seeing the result from Statista, you *need* to check Wikipedia. Bolivia definitely has not 170 warships. Chilean here. We absolutely would know it. Bolivia's fleet is mostly composed of vessels that patrol its rivers and the Titicaca lake. 01:48. If you know that the Bolivian navy operates in its rivers and the lake, and show a photo of a patrol vessel, why do you say it is composed of 170 warships? 02:20. It is suggested that Bolivian trade goes through a "corridor" in Chilean territory next to the border with Peru. Bolivia has tried to obtain that from Chile, but the treatises say that Peru must agree to what happens with what was its territory. Bolivia has preferent trade agreements with Chile for its exports (also with Peru, I presume), and access to the Atlantic via the Amazon river. There is much more to say about the situation between Bolivia and Chile, the different views of historians about whether the Real Audiencia de Charcas was ever in between the Virreinato del Perú and the Capitanía General de Chile, and how the limits were fixed after independence from Spain according to the uti possidetis principle, but it seems this channel is managed by an AI unable to even use Wikipedia.

Bolivia has the 19th largest navy because they were once not landlocked. Chile stole their access to the ocean. (Written before watching the video, so apologies if it's mentioned). This also makes me think that you should make a video of the countries that are only just landlocked i.e., are only separated from the ocean by thin slices of other countries. For example, Bolivia being only stopped by Chile and Ethiopia by Djibouti and Eritrea.
