    We're talking about accents mannerisms not pitch. Look at any other singers, let's take Taylor for an example since she has the longest career by now. Her mannerisms when she was 19 and 34 doesn't change much. She didn't have a phase of adapting an accent or vocabulary. But ariana switches like a weeb when they discover anime

    People seemingly forgot that a few years ago when Ariana tanned her skin more she had a "blackcent", which is speculated she got from one of her at the time best friends Victoria Monet. I don't think it was malicious, they've been friends since 2011, and she must've unconsciously imitated Monet's way of speaking, only stopping after people backlashed her. It's also normal to make your voice more high pitched in happy situations and when you're excited, and also, Ariana has gone through dozens of rebrandings throughout her career when she tried distancing herself from Cat she deepened her voice, then she went through the blaccent phase and now that she's a self-established figure she most likely doesn't feel the need to deepen her voice anymore. In conclusion:

    Many people use the method of changing the pitch of voice when talking in different situations and with different people. For example she might have a higher pitch when talking on tv to sound more friendly and cute, while when she's with her friends she uses her real voice with a lower pitch. Also when someone has talked or sang for a long period of time their voice tends to be weaker so it might sound like they have a higher pitch.

  • @pinkvixenz

    @pinkvixenz

    accent and pitch is different. in the beginning clips she sounds very hood, ethnic like she was raised in the south. i’ve heard people raised in those areas with a higher pitched voice and some with a deeper voice. however neither affect the accent and it’s clear in this case that it’s not her authentic voice. it’s 2024 and people are still trying to make excuses for ariana being a culture vulture back in the day. excessive tanning, blaccent, catergory shift in music..?hmm

    If you hear her on Victorious and most eras of her life, she sounded the same as she does now, she just unfortunately had a black fishing face when she would speak in a “blackcent” and tan really dark. Thank fully she got over that gaze and is back to being what she truly is, a white woman.

    Ariana switches her approach depending on the songs she has done it many times so I would say this would be to match yours truly. Her darker tone is due to her lowering her larynx which is never the healthiest thing so I don’t think that’s fully coming back for health reasons and the way she’s belting now and she’s supporting way more so imo it’s better this way well since 2018 and up.

    Ariana is really good at impersonation... meaning she can switch or change her voice or tone slightly maybe base on her vibes or moods? Maybe with the season? Or show or movie whatever she's feeling or doing... and she can really sing too...

    I hate when people say speaking in that certain accent is cultural appropriation. For that particular accent, sure it originated from black culture, but nowadays? All the basic girlies on tiktok speak like that because it's just what they're exposed to. It originated from black women, which then spread into POC queer culture, then into the main stream because of RuPaul's drag race. Which is an extremely popular show. Not to mention the already prominent presence of popular black women artists in pop culture and black movies and television. At certain we have to stop claiming it's cultural appropriation, when we're exposed to it I'm daily life, the Internet and media. It's just a subset of American culture that any skin color should be able to use. It's actually messed up to tell someone they can't speak like that because they don't look like someone that should.

    Some singers like they talk like speak differently because if they're going to like sing that day or they're gonna like sing a high note or something they need to like save their voice or something. That's why her voice might be changing and she even changes her voice for interviews I forgot why but it is a really good reason

  • @prepangles

    guys if you didnt know a lot of singers forget their real voice because they have been singing for so long, so sometimes there voice changes over the years. (honestly this is not a excuse if she is faking but this is possible)

    If this is the case, the blaccent doesn’t make sense. She talks in her tea voice all the time now. The blaccent is so forced there’s quite literally no way she didn’t put it on. And I guarantee you she didn’t pick it up from her 1 close black friend, that’s not how that works.
