Why Does Anyone Drive a Manual Car?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Why does anyone bother to drive a manual transmission car? In this video you'll find out!
I drive an 8th gen Honda Civic with a manual transmission but why? In this video I go over many of the reasons why I drive a manual and hopefully help you decide if you should or not.
Thanks for watching!

been a manual driver the whole time (from a country where people mostly drive manuals). tried out an automatic a couple of days ago. it's super convenient not having to think about gears and holding the clutch down when at traffic light. HOWEVER! I just love being in control of the revs. and yeah. it's super fun.

The 86s sound so fun. I’m a big fan of both Subaru and Toyota and a fan of Initial D (Not like the modern 86 and the classic JDM Sprinter Trueno AE86 are mechanically the same…but the DNA is there) so I have mad respect for that machine.

Pretty much the only reason to drive an automatic car is convenience. That is the short answer. Unless you count hauling and enabling those who barely can drive to drive a car as reasons. More control, more available horsepower, less weight, better fuel economy, more driving pleasure, less complexity, more performance in general. That is the long answer.

I mainly drive a honda insight cvt with paddle shifters. I recently got a job at a car rental company so I get to drive all of their automatic petrol, diesel and electric cars now. My best friend let me drive his manual toyota trueno around the carpark a little bit. I have really wanted to learn to drive manuals, I'll probably have to buy my own car in a few years time. I am familiar with manual transmissions since I currently ride motorcycles. Good video though, I really agree with your points.

My RX8 is a six speed. Those autos have less HP and just lame compared to the manual. I also have a jeep and a truck that are manual. My boss gave me the truck because nobody else could drive a manual. You can do things with a manual that you can't do in an auto without damaging the xmsn. Manual trannys last longer as well. And they will always get you home, albeit a bit noisier. BMW manuals are a totally different experience than an auto. There's nothing like digging into a corner grinding away in second. Heavy traffic sucks, though. But totally worth it.

I think 5speed automatics and below are not very responsive, a decent 5sp manual still beats the same car in 4 or 5sp automatic.. now... the 6 speed automatics is where it starts to be better imho. I drive a 2013 honda that has the 5sp auto and sometimes it feels lost and not in the optimal gear, I assume that doesn't happen with the newer ones.... and manual, well, it depends on you but if you are good with it you can always be on the best gear and accelerate out quicker when you need it.
