I’m A+, but O+ is most common followed by A+, then B+, then O- ( the universal donor), then A-, then AB+, then B-, and then finally AB- being the least common. As above there are 8 blood types for humans. There is a lot more I want to and could say but I am trying to keep this short. I just know a lot about blood and like talking about it. 😊

I learned recently I have B- and that this type is pretty rare. I was excited I had rare blood but then I remembered that means it will be harder for me to find blood if I ever need it

I'm O- I donated blood once now I'm going back again. The blood bank won't leave me alone

Actually, type A blood can be either homozygous or heterozygous. This means that a person with the type A blood phenotype could have a genotype of i, iA. If two people heterozygous for type A blood had a child, there would be a 25% chance for the offspring to have type O (i, i) and 75% chance to be type A (25% i, iA and 25% iA, iA).

it's because scientist still don't really know why there are different types. what they do know is a type is the most ancient and O types is the most recent. all they can say for now is it might have been an evolutionary thing for self defense against disease . for example look type O does better at fighting of malaria unlike type A

no it can't, the sequence of glycosids attached to the erythrocyte are specific for each type, where the order of these glycosids matters as well. So if you have a A type you will never lose the sequence of carbohydrates and also you will never change it.
