Why Do We Go To The Wilderness? --By Strider

My seldom heard but often seen brother, aka "Strider" made this a while back and I find myself watching and re-watching it over and over. He hits the nail on the head for why we keep subjecting ourselves to the elements but asks the much better question...why WOULDN'T we go to the wilderness? Good times!
Be sure to check out Jester's podcast (www.hikingradionetwork.com/sh...) where we take a deep dive into my reasons for going out into the wilderness and how the outdoors has helped me manage Post Traumatic Stress.

"Calibrate the meaning of necessity" -- absolutely spot on. I saw some Cumberland Island in there! Fabulously written and put together!

My shorter, slightly less attractive brother has a way with words for sure! Cumberland is a special place for us...need to get back down there. Hope you're doing well good sir!

I can't take credit...my brother was the brains behind this one but he let me post it on the channel. It speaks to me just like I'm sure it speaks to everyone in its own way. It was great meeting you and getting to hike with Joey. Thank you again for the trail magic! Maybe I'll see you all out there again one day!

I love this. Well done and well said. There is something magical about being surrounded by the quiet beauty of God's creation far from civilization. Also, the gentleman at the 2:33 minute mark clearly wants a kayak. :)

Hahaha, he felt every bump in that rock alllllllll the way down 🤣😂 I think once he got to the bottom, he would've taken anything to get between his shorts and the rock. He certainly has a way with words though. Thanks for watching my friend!
