Why do we get brain freeze?

Dr. Jen Caudle explains why we get a brief, intense pain behind the forehead and in the temples after eating or drinking something too cold too fast. Some call it brain freeze. Its scientific name is sphenopalatine ganglion neuralgia. Dr. Caudle also offers solutions to ward off the pain when this sensation happens.
