My '07 GTI permanently smelled like cherries because the previous owner had put a bunch of air fresheners in the center console, glove box, trunk, the fold down cup holder in the rear seats, etc. Honestly never got tired of the smell

I know someone with a r32 and it definitely has a oil/crayon smell, and my new 2018 mk7 sport wagen never smelled like crayons, just smells really fresh

I swear my 05 srt4 smells a little like this also. Not as potent as the vws but it’s there.

Had a 2002 vw bora (without rusted fenders), never smelled like crayons. Pretty sure that the european variants of mk4 jettas and golfs were galvanized.

My 01 WE Jetta doesn't smell like crayons....unless I got used to it, never recalled it smelling that

I have a golf 5 r32, luckily, I've never ever had this smell

My SRT4 smells like crayons. It’s because of the sound deadening on the dash. That stuff is crumbling like old crayons too

They all do LOL most hate it, I was never bothered by it. But I did a deep clean of my car and it helped a lot mine has not smelled like crayons in months

I have to pull the dash to replace the heater core. At that time on going to remove the firewall sound deadening and replace it with new sound deader and closed cell foam. Hopefully that will reduce the smell 😂

The volvos, and mercedes ive had smelled like crayons as well i just assumed thats what europe smells like 😂

All older German cars smell like crayons inside
