The reason why drones were a lot more relevant back then was due to the fact they were practically granting rare, epic, and occasionally legendary items more often than the drones we have today.

someone talked about them a few months ago like kinda when chapter 5 season 2 started someone got the chapter 5 season 1 gun the striker ar from them cause epic forgot to remove the ar from the drones but its been patched 1 day after the video came out
