I'll do ya one better. Unequal, straight pipe all the way to the ass. My car can be so obnoxious when I want it to.

It's because of the unequal length headers. I'd also like to add the ej series engines help produce the iconic sound also. If you put an unequal length header on the fa20 wrx or the fa24 wrx it won't really produce the same rumble. It's barely distinct. But put an equal length header on an ej wrx/sti and you can still hear that rumble slightly.

@josephwright8752 it sounds decent but the rumble Is barely there. It's just not the same as an ej wrx/sti with unequal length headers.

I wonder if Subarus talk about Alex as much as Alex talks about Subarus.

It’s music to our ears. Regardless of what your opinion is on Subaru, the “Rumble” is unique and rare and was meant on “purpose” which makes it more unique.

But the Subaru 3.0 h6 engines heads were actually designed in part by Porsche. And with a manual transmission and proper exhaust sound very similar to that of a Porsche

I own a Subaru Impreza Spec C import hatchback it is cooler than a polar bears backside I like equal length headers. Great video.

I've got the tomei uel on my 2016 fr-s and I wouldn't trade it for anything it sounds so good

what also plays a roll in there rumble is there firing order is helps with there exhaust notes

Mazdaspeed/MPS also have UELH, they also have a lovely little warble when paired with a nice exhaust, though nowhere near the legendary Scoob with a good exhaust. My 3 MPS sounded more Scoob than my mates stock VA STI. 😂

This is like MOSTLY true. Porsche and Subaru use different crank geometry (different stroke patterns), which also contributes in part to the sound. hence why the FA and Porsche's boxter (both ELH Turbo 4 cyl horizontally opposed engines) sound similar but distinguishably different. I agree though headers most of the rumble :)

I get right around 400hp, 393.7 on the mustang. I have to say the Tomei equal length, Grimmspeed bb500, IBR flex fuel, IAG 550 short block, and GFB hybrid bpv sound amazing. Probablly also helps it was JR Tuned, by Shift Fast in SC.

I'm rockin around 340 on my franken-sub. You can't throw a rock and not hit a wrx or sti where I live. They all sound so quiet. Check out my short, there's only 2. The other one is pretty cool too.

I got my tune at shift fast too. Im still not too sure if JR did the tuning or the owner?? Lol if it was the owner, he was not having a good day and only did 2 passes on my session. It was done nov.2022

I wonder if anyone has done a “side by side” test on two identical new Subi’s but one had ELH and the other didn’t to see if either encountered any issues first regardless of the swap.

There’s still an opportunity for Gran Turismo and Forza to add these EL and UEL header options to change the sounds, it would be great tbh.

Not all Subs come with UELs. WRX s come with EL and the STIs come with UEL. BRZ/FRS/86 come with EL but a lot of people go UEL to get the rumble along with a tune to help the torque curve

so how do you get the rumble when it already comes with factory UEL headers? ive got a forester 07 but it doesnt have the rumble even with an aftermarket exhaust

@@gustomassini407 While technically a UEL, the headers on your forester are a lot closer to EL than those found on WRX and STI models. Sadly, it just doesnt have the same potential from the factory.

The Only Subaru i want is a Subaru Kei Truck. A few of them don't have AC but Subaru Kei trucks do have them. How to modify a Kei Truck Day 13 🚚 💨

You can find videos on here of Hondas with unequal length headers and they got that rumble too. Sounds like a WRX but you look and it's a fuckin Accord. 💀

I don't know nothing about rumble but when I fire up my Outback with a broken muffler joint it sounds like a 366 BlueBird school bus.

Why do people act like double clutching is actually the best thing ever? Ever wondered why professional race drivers don't do it 9 times out of 10? Also subbie has what we call rev hang to counter the need to double clutch if u just shift quicker, so many dumbass's mod it out tho cuz they think its dumb and double shifting better. As for full race builds, they should be using manual sequential or its not a full race build soooo...

Hot take, subaru should have built a stronger normal inline motor decades ago and just built unequal length headers to get all of the noise people are in love with, while eliminating the fact that Subarus sre the laughing stock kf the car work known for being horrendously unreliable.

@jeffrey3498 Oh cmon now old duffer. The little 4 bangers are fun too, if you give them a chance. The boxers they speak of do have a unique exhaust tone, and it's really the only way I ever considered one over all the years of V8 mills I've owned. Does it blow everything away? Absolutely not. It just surprises the unaware, and that makes it fun.

@@rite2beararms I have a 2023 Crosstrek Premium 6 speed manual, and I love it, but I also have a long history with V8 engines, mostly GM LS engines. As much as I love my Boxer engine, FB20D, and I love the sound when I rev it through the gears, it definitely doesn't rumble. It does growl a little though. I was just having a little fun with the fart comment. More or less 🤣

UEL headers are for stock EJs, posers and people who can afford to build motors around inefficient parts.
