I've received the same feedback, and I am glad I'm not the only one to receive such ambiguous feedback. Thanks for the video, you make good stuff.

Thank you! Yeah I definitely received some solid feedback that I agreed with, but the theme one was interesting!

I think Slap Chop is great for "high quantity" armies eg skaven/undead/gobbos, and certainly has it's place. I agree with you that you should have more tools in the toolbox for methodology, and the method should match the project--if you're going for a Golden Demon maybe slapchop isn't the method to use. Also bogus on you not getting into Armies on Parade due to a tired theme, that's on GW not on you :P

Appreciate that! For sure there's improvement needed for elements of my Deepkin, but yeah that bit of feedback was interesting lol

You could drop "slapchop" and replace it with airbrush and you'll have the same argument from ten years ago. I would argue that it's not about the technique but how it's presented. Cutting corners is great, and if you can do so without it hurting the final result then fantastic! But you'll need to worry about the final result, speaking from a painting competition judges point of view.

Oh completely fair, I think maybe there just needs to be a better terminology for how that is presented. Instead of calling something "slapchoppy" and maybe more like a "inconsistent texture" or something if that makes sense.

Absolutely agree. Hating on a technique isn't cool @@TattooedTabletop. HOWEVER, if that is the one trick pony technique used and doesn't try to go beyond that, I can see the criticism. (Airbrushing suffers in this area too)
