This is a pivotal point.. why do loners continue to thrive in societies? I suspect we'll find links with the concept of hybrid vigour - nimble responsiveness to developing opportunities whilst the herd wanes. All interesting stuff. Old UK duffer here, enjoying the brief ride :)

@Platupus0v0 - That's the clinical definition of introversion. The internet seems to think that introversion means social anxiety or something. The introversion/extraversion spectrum is regulated by the formation of the social reward system in the thalamus. If that system is highly expressed then the person will get a significant reward from interacting with others. If it's less expressed (smaller) then the person will not experience social interactions as being highly rewarding. This difference leads to the person being less likely to initiate social interactions, because the truth of the matter is that people are very complicated and interacting with them requires a lot of biological resource, so without a reward to justify that expenditure, people will avoid it. Note that - as with all variable traits - the range of variation is not to indicate that evolution has failed to specify a best solution, but rather that evolution has specified that the range itself is the best solution.

I'd go a week sometimes not even looking at my phone (I hate phones... anyone else? Likewise, I hate in today's world the expectation of anyone can contact you 24/7 and if you don't respond in a timely manner, you're the one in the wrong) I want my LAN line with voicemail + text machine. I remember looking at different social media's "Ugh I can't wait to go to a concert" "I miss seeing my friends" I felt bad for them these groups of people would constantly voice their unstable emotional state. Must suck to be incapable to entertain one's self.

The problem I have with this video is that every time Anton says "loner" he shows a shot of a young lady who looks miserable and depressed, thus inadvertently reinforcing the stereotype he is trying to dispute. I'm a loner because I enjoy being a loner. I love studying and watching educational videos, I don't sit by a window waiting for someone to rescue me. At work I laugh and joke and my colleagues are often surprised when I refer to myself as an introvert. But when I get home I breathe a sigh of relief and snuggle down with my latest textbook.

Would it continue to be a loner and create a spot for others like it or would it join in the group effort? A "loner" human tends to be a creative thinker that enjoys the mental activity of learning, and the more independent the learning, the better. It's why there are people who are extremely intelligent and educated, yet they did poorly in school. Look at how many of your viewers think of themselves as loners. This says something about the nature of your channel.

It’s really interesting that the percentage left behind is optimal and reproducible in subsequent colonies while proving those left behind aren’t defective. Amazing.

This is similar to whats going to happen in the world... nutbags wanting to enforce a medical procedure on all with remove themselves or more likely those who disagree based off critical thinking skills which is a lot different than only being to think using critical race theory. The folks who avoid their "vaccine" will go to live healhy lives and flourish and the others who thought we would all die will perish in hatred.

I’m a loner. I find it extremely depressing at times but also much less stressful. Relationships are energy draining, stressful, and I feel complicate everything. It’s nice of course to have someone close in your life. But you can certainly be productive and happy alone.

The significant difference between "loners" and "the greater grouped magirity" is that loners have a very much tighter selectivity bandwidth of what we personally percieve to be non-idiots.
