5:05 you can't fail with that attitude. Your German really improved over the years. One more year and you can do this video totally in German or read Kant, Nietzsche, Fichte, Goethe, Schiller . BTW. I recommend their poem and audio books here on KZread.

Thanks to everyone who has supported me on this journey ❤🤝 I want to encourage all of you who have a dream, whether big or small, to keep working towards your goal - no matter how many times you have tried before and failed. No matter how many times you looked or sounded stupid doing something new. Because the journey and the roadblocks you will encounter on this journey towards your destination, will ultimately turn out to be exactly what you needed! May God bless you all and may He fill you with confidence and courage to push through whatever may be standing in your way🙏 BOOM BABY LETS GO!

Your German was already even better than it is now in your recently posted vlogs to be honest. Well I think that is because when you don´t permanently use it then you loose it. You have to be consistant in learning ..that´s what the secret is. I refer to James Bray another YTuber (check him out) he is consistant learning German the last year all by himself and didn´t even set a foot on German soil till now. But he will sooner rather than later ..it is his goal and the reason why he is learning German in the first place. But he found ways to communicate with Germans on a regular basis via discord and took some lessons on language apps (filmed on some of his vlogs) he also even watched german TV shows already on Netflix (with english subtitles I presume) and now he is pretty good..by far not perfect of course but pretty good...clearly already overtaken you in behalf of progress.

Good luck with it! I've been learning norwegian for a while and I'd say input is key. If you know enough vocabulary to sort of get the meaning, watching a Netflix series like Dark with German audio and subtitles might be fun and also help. Finding some German music and youtubers would probably help to be motivated also. Luna, Madeline Juno, LOTTE, Elif and ela are some of the singers I personally enjoy.

Hey Conner, so nice to come across this video and see you again, especially with this topic! It's been a while for me, almost forgot about you, but still here you are :) I just have to encourage your language learning journey, because you've been part of mine back then. I am from germany and in 2018 I found yours and the videos of your buddy Silas just when it was my goal to become fluent in english. So every day for some time there was input for me I loved so much to watch! Today I'm not quite sure how fluent I really am when it comes to talking because there seldomly is the opportunity for me to speak, but I'm pretty confident that it would just work out very well and I can say that I'm able to understand almost everything. And that was my real goal, to get to a point where my abilities would just grow automatically by applying without the pain of a still to overcome language barrier. There is just no need for perfection, only for enjoying the experience! Now I'm learning spanish and the experience with learning english makes it so much easier. So thank you again for the uplifting content some years ago, it helped a lot and I am really looking forward to follow your journey again and to see your progress! Go on, proceed with confidence and have fun, I believe in you! 🤙😉🍀

I'm a 29 year old woman from Frankfurt who found her passion for travelling, different cultures and languages while living in Los Angeles and leaning english there for a year in 2013. Until now, I was always postponing it (too many competitors anyway), but thanks to you I will start asap. Thank you for that :) Ps. I started learning a different language when I was 18 (Japanese) by living & working there. I can remember it being a very frustrating experience for the first few months - having so much to say, but nobody to say it to. After a few months though, it was like a 'light' was turned on in my mind - I can distinctly recall the day I was counting some things in my head in Japanese. That night, I had my first dream in Japanese, and then I was away. Once your mind begins to switch to the other langugage to think, you'll really start to accelerate. Now, some 30+ years on, I still learn new words and phrases (as I do with English), but speaking Japanese comes as naturally to me as speaking English. As I am sure you know, the process of learning can be enourmously frustrating at times...but don't give up - you'll get there. One of the confusing things for people who aren't bilingual is to comprehend that when you are speaking another language fluently, you're not actually thinking about what you are going to say in your native language, you're thinking in the other language. This is why its very hard to do intepreting - because no matter how good you are at each language, you still need to 'convert' what you're hearing in one language in your brain to the other prior to interpeting it for the other person...it can be very taxing mentally. When I am speaking Japanese, I have no idea what I am saying in English, as it isn't part of the process - and vice versa. Apart from being able to communicate with other people in their own language, I think there are many benefits in gaining fluency in another language that aren't immediately obvious. Studies have shown that people who are bilingual are naturally more empathetic - there is speculation that because your brain has learned to think in two completely different ways, it 'automatically' can approach other problems from multiple perspectives more naturally. Certainly not suggesting monolingual people can't do this or show empathy(!), but this is just one example of how expanding your mental faculties in one area can have a huge impact on other seemingly unrelated areas. Anyway, bit of a ramble there - but don't be discouraged. One thing that also comes with age and experience is a higher level of comfort with who you are, and less concern of what others think. It can still be hurtful when people say things about us we don't like, but only you know yourself if there is any merit in the criticism or not. Love your videos - God bless, and don't give up!

I follow you since your first VfB Stuttgart Stadium Video. And during the years i saw you delveloping. I really like you guy. I guess thats a kind of normal if you watch Videos of someone since years. Watching Videos in English helped me a lot to improve my English. So beside from entertaining whatching you helped me to speak your Language better. And i know you can that too. I wish you the very best. I like to see my Country to your eyes in a new way. And i like that you feel love to Germany.

As an American who grew up in Germany with an American father and German mother I learned to talk as an infant in two languages. I love your passion to learn! Don’t let anyone discourage you. You’re on a terrific and inspiring path and watching your videos makes this old man smile. Boom baby! Keep the faith!

Hi Conner, my tip ( as a native german speaker) : If you want to speak more "really good sounding" german, don't be afraid of speaking the "hard sounding" T's , SCH's, R's ...

I respect the hustle Conner. German is a tricky language and I was lucky enough to grow up with German parents. I have mad respect for people learning the language, because the grammar is crazy. Keep it up!!! Liebe Grüße aus Sydney Australien 🇦🇺
