Then you prepare to try to 2 star your mirror when suddenly a guy above you attacked your mirror because "he is a th11 and his mirror is a rushed th12" and "he isnt confident in attacking his mirror" while only 2 starring the base below. Just happened to me in the last cwl! I'm a max th9 and got matched with an almost max th10. I spent a lot of time scouting. I found several flaws in the base. I put a claim on it so no one would attack it (even tho it was my mirror). I cooked up the perfect army that would've 3-starred it. Planned everything out down to where I'd use each spell and troop. Then I went to bed waiting for someone to fill my cc. When I woke up, a th11 2-starred it with a basic witch spam. I was so mad. I'm still very confident I would've 3-starred it and I rarely get that feeling lol.

Lol that's why I have my own clan and very disciplined members those are my classmates and some random members my classmates didn't want to mess with the clan cause they know what will happen also me even if I'm the leader I don't want to mess with the clan became I respect it I didn't get bossy even if I'm the leader and that what makes a clan good

All that means is your clan is overperforming and/or the enemy clan is underperforming

This was our first clan war league, and I question the original placement algorithm. The highest TH on our roster was a rushed 12 (although most of our bases are not rushed). We were placed in Silver II, which felt right. However, it was not fun because we were paired against clans that were much higher than us. Our full roster was 1-TH12, 2-TH 11, 3-TH 10, 2-TH9, 2-TH8, and 3-TH7 or less. The first war was against a clan with 2-TH13 and 2-TH 12s. We basically had no one who could attempt any of those with any hope of success. The second day was slightly better with only 3 rushed-TH12 at the top of their roster. The third and fifth days were the best pairing with only 1-TH12 (not rushed). Day 4 was 3-TH 12s (not rushed). Day 6 and 7, where above awful and neither had rushed bases. Day 6: 1-TH 13, 3-TH12, 5-TH11, 1-TH10, 1-TH9, 2-TH8, 2-TH7 and below. Day 7:1-TH 15, 1-TH14, 3-TH13, 1-TH12, 5-TH11, 2-TH10, and 2-TH9. I have to agree with the person who stated that you do the league for league medals and not fun. When five members of your clan have to sit out each war or go against people who are way over their level, that causes people to lose interest in participating pretty quickly. I understand only participating against others in your league, but it seems that there is no matching within leagues, and that should take place.

our clan (2 months old) participated in 2 war leagues and in both we were hit extremely hard by the matching algorithm. We changed our goal to try and achieve as many stars as possible by making top players attack lower opponents where they have a shot of getting a star or more, making cwl not so fun for lower th players in the clan and even makes them inactive for when good matches happen. I only view cwl as a source for cwl medals and that's it.

I'm a town hall 7 and the other clan was TH's of 13 and 12

as you explained the cwl fixed one problem but by creating a new one: it tears clans apart, the is no chance for the lower bases of a clan to play in a cwl war. only the high bases will play. that might be fine for professional clans but it sucks for clans that have high and low ths

We do look at balancing and we do throw wars at the end of a cwl week in order to stay in a certain league. We will push up one and if the cwl goes poorly then we know we need to move back down. We are doing it strategically and trying to max stars as best we can for cwl medals.

My bottom 4 were th8, theirs were 3 th11 and a th10. We’re getting demoted for the first time in 7 seasons. We’ve remained strong but this one was too tough

Idrc about my league. I only care about them medals, and the lower you are on the table, the less bonus medals you get, so mismatches become so annoying to me because of this. There SHOULD be a matchmaking system for the game to be fair for everyone, as it would take so much wasted time for the game to reach that equilibrium

During the last clan war league,I had an opponent of th12 and my th was 9!

I do my farming with queen walk or charge miners attack with occasional hog or bowlers in cc. That helped me allot in controlling my queen path at least far better than what it used to be.

We were having me th 12, th 9 and th 8 with th 3 for a new clan but opponent has lowest th 11 max , with their top at th 13 max. Only I was the person who could attack from our clan so we scored only 2 stars and opponent clan took up opportunity of it and did a massive 42 stars we were disappointed 😭😭

We are involved in a mismatch as I type this. Our opponents weakest base is a fairly rushed th11. Our 4 weakest bases are th9. We do have 4 13s to their 3 but, it's still very lopsided

We're in season 2 CWL. And our Th9 mirror is Th12...😑 So unfair !!

We're doing a 30v30 in masters 3 and crystal 1. The masters guys r getting all th13 opponents (no doubt there) but in crystal were gonna wreck every other clan. We just have 3-4th13s and the rest r th12s and 11s. Most 30v30s down here r easy matchups coz most r th10s and 9s. Good strat to get up the league a bit. Awesome vid. Would like a th12 attack strategy against th13 bases in legend, getting wrecked to even squeeze out 1star !! 😣

My clan is the underdog constantly. We somehow manage to climb but it‘s only a matter of time until we get such a huge mismatch that is impossible to beat...

True!!! It is so so annoying... That this time our clan isn't participating in cwl.... We calculated and came to know that even if we win 2 wars we will get twice as much value and rewards than in normal wars... But getting 3-th13s||4 th12s in 15v15 while our no. 1 player is me(th11) we just don't want to be in pathethic position.. But rather lose in fair fight.

Involved in a huge mismatch right now. 2nd match in a row. Th 11 with eagle, vs TH 9 . 1h 10 vs TH 12. That's just 2 of many.

Thank You Judd for this informative CWL video. However, I found it because of a regular clan war situation. Our clan has 23 war wins in a row, but our success will end in 24 hours. We are a TH 9 war clan ( 2 TH 9s , 3 other halls…5 VS 5 ). We are going to face 2 max TH 9 that will TH 10s by the time the war starts. This is WRONG. TH upgrades should not be allowed after the War Search finds a match. I know software DEVELOPMENT is tough for COC, BUT, 2 TH 9s can not defeat Infernio Tower and 4 X-Bows. Plus, though just drop a few coins and attack with TH 10 strength. Anyway, It is now Next to impossible to 3 star such bases as a TH 9. I two star them and TH 11s each season to get to Legends League, but in WAR, It’s just Wrong. NO TH upgrades should be allowed after a WAR SEARCH. Thanks for All You Do, CH

Thanks for the great content. Since the CWL competition is based on league level only, I find myself using the word “grouping” rather than “matching”. Matching suggests that there is an attempt to equally match pairings based upon clan strength. You mentioned that since success is based on skill + base strength, the best CWL action is to “upgrade as fast as possible”. Does upgrading as fast as possible result in rushed bases that can lead to uneven matches in regular wars? At times, do the two competitions require different strategies that sometimes conflict with each other? Again, thanks for the content.

Thank you for watching! If you were to upgrade your base in a rushed manner then yes you could get tougher matches in regular wars if you don’t have the offence / defence to deal with it. There are many different angles but you’re right I just focused on CWL for this one

My clan has no rushed bases in CWL and are lower guys get matched against higher town halls. I’m a th 12 and had to go against an maxed th13. Got a two star tho

We attack 3 or 4 base below the mirror attack so it can make us easy to grab star. And this has worked for us a lot of times. So ppl who do 1 star can get back up by Someone.

Currently in my clan’s first CWL, day four, and so far we have not faced a single remotely fair fight lmao. And from what I’ve seen of the other clans that we have left, we have literally no chance of winning even a single matchup. CWL is horrible, but we play it for the clan XP, I doubt we’ll join another one anytime soon

15:00 There were a few coins in gold storage, i.e., it is not empty. Elixir collectors are half filled (think of juice in a transparent glass). Gold mines were a few levels lower than elixir collectors and amount of gold available was more than elixir, i.e., some amount of gold is in storage. Finding whether elixir is present in collectors or storages is easier, by looking itself. But for gold it is difficult. So we have to compare levels of elixir collectors and gold mines to identify that.

Just happened to us. We aren't a bad clan and we do have some high town halls. We are currently in crystal 1 and have 3 TH14s, 1 TH13, 5 TH12s and 6 TH11s but we are going up against a 11 TH14s and 4 TH13s

CWL started yesterday and I found that it was mismatched. All opponent clans full of TH 12 and TH13. Here is our first match details: Our top 7 players: 1 TH-12, 2 TH-11, 1 TH-10 and 3 TH-9 and opponent top 7 players: 3 TH-13, 2 TH-12, 1 TH-11 and 1 TH-10. I found and kept laughing. Thank God we aren’t the only ones! Started up our old clan with some buddies, got a few that are maxed out TH11/12s like me and then we got a couple that are TH5/7 and still building and learning getting matched against TH9/10s with X-Bows and Infernos like what the heck lol. Don’t understand how that makes any sense. For example this CWL we are doing 15v15, 1-3 you can go tit for tat basically. But after that it’s all downhill and not in our favor members have left and completely lost interest. Think we should stay out of CWL until our smaller guys are TH9s and I still don’t think that will help😪
