Can you do an explanation of how figures are made from start to finish? And how pinless joints are made at the factory?

It has come out that most businesses are raising prices independently of inflation if supply chains or wages - if they feel people will buy at a price, they will charge that price.

Inflation in the UK has massively dropped from around 11% to around 2%...yet prices that shot up haven't gone down. Inflation is a con.

Do you understand what inflation is? If you go from high to low inflation, the the high price will remain, but future price increase will be small. You confuse inflation and deflation, the later is as toxic for the economy as a high inflation

I love how Scott delivers the reality of toy manufacturing and price points but 75% of collectors will still cry like the toy companies are out to screw them… price hikes are unfortunate, but no one is forcing us to buy. I’ve been more selective myself lately. Truth be told though it’s been a good thing because space is limited 😂.

If true then I suppose we should consider ourselves lucky that the figures are being sold at the same price point. The logical decision from a business perspective would be to increase the margins on the larger figure so they maintain the perception of a value difference, even if there isn't one on their side of things.

How far off are we in the future where all action figures are marketed as Bandai's "Gunpla" play features? As in, the consumers end up assembling their own action figures, with "optional" deco? Toy collectors joke, but it seems like something Hasbro would pull to save costs.

Honestly, I’m a little older than most and grew up on Micronauts. It was pretty standard to get a vehicle in kit form with parts on a runner and a bag of screws. Personally I loved it. It added to the play value. But that’s also where parents complaining about having to put their kids toys together comes from. I don’t think you will see too much “Customize your own”. Platform toys like Pops, Dunnys, and even Mighty Mugs didn’t seem to sell a lot of blanks. Best we may see is a “Build a droid”.

I’m a fan of McFarlane more since they’ve raised prices but much less and are still worth it more than how Hasbro and Mattel have been rising prices while giving less. Hasbro had even been farming out their own properties of transformers and gi joe.

I think of those times when collectors got a pretty good value for their dollar(ToyBiz Marvel, LegacyCollection, etc, etc) and I believe the two thing currently missing in that equation are a giant customer base and an expensive Chinese production. Let's fix this Hasbro. Start expediting more work out of China (I know its not that ez and I understand the quality isn't their but let's get the ball rolling) and as fans we should place more pressure on these companies. Toys make money for Hasbro and they are running out of ways to make it. If they lose the collector's market, it's gonna be a point of no return scenario for them.

i recently purchased 3 deluxe vintage collections figures. As cool as they are, the small size just isn’t as fun for me. I think it is forest to build dioramas with 3.75 because one can get star wars vehicles from older eras (PoTF) and make some sort of shipping yard or some such. what i am. getting at is at 3.75, a universe is easier to build in a small space, but 1:12 Black a series are superior figures
