Also why generally you’re not supposed to shower everyday. You can, it’s fine to, but you end up washing away all those oils your skin built up through the day and some of the good bacteria that helps your skin. Obviously if you did something sweaty or whatever then def shower. But if you just went to work and came back…do you really need to take a 45 min shower and apply 13 different bottles filled w chemicals and then apply 8 different creams? I shower ab ever 2 days unless I did something during the day that warrants a shower and my skin is radiant and youthful and I rarely ever get acne. I see all these girls w bad acne and using makeup and showers w a million products and yet there skin is always awful.

We only look younger when compared to Caucasian. I'm southeast asian and I can tell you that a 40-year old Asian looks 40 to us, but to Caucasians they may look 30. Ofc, you have the outliers who look older or younger than they actually are, but generally speaking we can correctly guess our fellow Asians' age range (this is how we know whether to call you auntie/uncle, adik/akak/abang 😂). People say Jackie Chan looks young for his age, but to me he looks exactly his age. So yea I think Asians looking young is relative.

As an Indonesian I cringe when I see other SEAsians (mainly Maritime SEA) try to relate and act like we’re similar to East Asians. It’s usually because in their countries, like in Indonesia, the perception of East Asians is skewed by the local Chinese community, who are often more culturally SEAsian than East. But if they’ve lived out to either the West or East, they’ll see the difference is like day and night. I’ve found it, through personal experience, to be easier to relate to Africans. So what I am saying is without the skincare and healthcare I put into myself but with the burnout and such I would probably look much older than I do now. But I think being Asian helps in recovering a youthful look much better. I'm an academic and my students always guess I'm between early 20s to mid 20s. Most often 23~ which is insane. Most caucasian aren't used to see asian features that often so they can't tell the difference between a 20 and a 45 year old or even the difference between Chinese and Korean lol for white people like me it depends how often they got exposed to the sun. We generally got thinner skin layers so we need to take more care of our skin. The best solution by the age of 25 when the elastin and hyaluron of our faces start to reduce is staying in the mostly shadow, using sun screen and sleeping enough - long-term it will make wonders.

There is no difference in the appearance of an 80-90 year old. I worked in age care for 7 years. I'd say from about mid 70's and up very little difference in looks of at all but you might be able to tell by movement and flexibility. I am mixed. My who is mother is German/English is considered looking 10-15 years younger. My siblings also have this. My younger sister the worst time of it because she's also short. Men wouldn't date her til she was in her late 20's as they thought she was lying about her and and she was jail bait. She has married a younger man. I've also married younger. Genetics and epigenetics play a major factors. But I've seen some Asian people who didn't take care of themselves and were very wrinkled and aged poorly. There's also the well known aunty effect or grandmafication effect.

That's true, but the older generations didn't have sunscreen. It didn't exist when they were younger and even when it slowly became more available in the East (back in the 70s in the West, people were still using coconut oil etc. when outdoors in order to get a deeper tan - wasn't until the mid to late 80s that actual sunscreen that blocked UV rays came into wider use and the SPF was a lot lower and people didn't distinguish between UVB and UVA until years later) it wasn't adopted as quickly by older people and especially men. Back in the old days they (women) carried sun parasols and wore big hats (sun visors are very popular with older people in Korea) etc. In Vietnam women wear hats and wear long gloves to cover up their hands and arms, while the rest of their body is protected by regular clothing. Anyway my father used to do outdoor activities like wash the car, maintain the yard etc., without a hat or sunscreen. He would get very tanned over the summer, in contrast to the covered part of his skin which remained quite white. He had these tan lines, at the neck and upper arms. He would probably look a lot younger if he had worn long sleeved shirts and hats and sunscreen. But even so, he has always been extremely young looking for his age. He looked a lot younger than his age peer friends, who were of the same East Asian background. Even his hair - retained a full head of hair with a solid hairline that receded ever so slowly, whilst several of his age peers had started to bald and had receding hairlines. Furthermore, his hair started to gray much later than others and at a much slower pace. He just looked way younger for a long time. People would often mistake him for 2 decades younger. His siblings were much the same but not to the same extent as my father

Big eyes, you got them, these ladies do not. Also, hate to say it, but Asians, specifically, are not considered young looking compared to anyone,(only in the media, not in nature) And no one compares celebrities, people, that would be just so false.Yeah, I don`t see these kind of people around me, they look much younger. There is literally no changes in anyone`s face until after 40, then first signs starts to show, yea? And the only change usually is that you lose that baby fat,(that did it with Marilyn Monroe, she had very little surgery to her face at the time) which does not do anything with round bone structure, but if someone has high cheekbones and prominent, then, the bone structure is considered pretty and good looking. You look much younger than these ladies in the photos. But you also look normal, for your age,you look your age i mean, these photos`s are not good of an example with both ladies looking older than their age.Having very small eyes etc.

@@ambrusin4889 right, and I think it's not very fair they chose Dua Lipa here, coz she's the type of face to look "adult" since 19y.o. and stay with almost the same face till 40+. I think they should've used other celebrities too, who's not on a masculine side of beauty, just to be fair. Coz it's about diversity in face structures, you can't narrow the whole race to one type of face. My experience tells me it depends on a face, not race.

@@ZuhaLoveMusic oh that was indeed Dua Lipa, American singer, ( I am old) heh, no, I do know who she is, I just thought it was someone who resembled her. She looked so different in her music video.Yeah ,I don`t like when celebrities are being used as an example of any kind of an appearance. I have relatives from Europa and as I have navigated there (here) I have come to learn there are so many different races in whiter skinned people also. Like in Africa there are many different looking races and people. Dua Lipa is an odd example. Very odd to use her in this connection. This would look very different if using someone else`s pic. Someone from Sweden, Finland ,Italy Greek, or Portugal..the list is endless. All just too different. All I see is different kind of faces around me, different than than Dua ,in Northern part of Europa, but that is exactly your point. You cannot use a skin color or tone to describe a whole race as an example. It is ridiculous, imagine if they would have use just a one face to describe Africans, oh my Lord, and Asians (there are different kind of Asians also, under half of Russia (Approx. 200 000 million people, yes, quite many are Asian, and people there also look the part, just different, (taller, light hair, but eyes gives it away. btw. they are beautiful, we call them mixed) but they are not younger looking than any other "race" in general, in real life, like, at all.Young looking maybe, but not younger. I have not heard anyone ever, think like that, said like that, who has? I am mixed, like very mixed, I wish that the talk of race and comparing them too much would end. I am interested about people and genetics, very much so, but sometimes it just goes too far, the talk you know, these very, overly simplified comparisons. Like this kind of comparison. When you see enough world, and people especially, the talk of race just kind of feels stupid. I am sorry, I seem to have wrote a whole damn book for you. Well, heh you don`t have to read this, it is the beauty about texting. There obviously have to be exceptions but growing up I noticed a lot of skin care was targeted at larger pores, often cause by oily skin. Lol. Finally, someone's correct about Asian's natural oil in the skin. However, it's only 1/2 of it it's true. The other 1/2 has to do with genetics. For example, black people naturally have certain smell when they breathe around you. Male are a lot stronger than female though (not meant to be negative about black people. It's only compared to how similar or different about our human genetics). My mother used to tell us that you can always smell a "black man" when he breath around or close to us. Lol. She's right. Likewise, for Asian, they have certain oil of the natural skin. This is why they look aliitle younger than common people (i.e., Caucasian, African Americans, etc.). BUT, all Asian people can always tell their own real age to each - but not Westerners. Westerners would probably think Asian people are 10 or 15 years younger. Lol. For an example...the first pix (girl)), I'm certain, Westerners would probably think she's 18 or 19 years old. To a regular Asian person, he/she might think this girl's around 28 to 34. Lol.

Happiness and inner peace work better than any botox or any other drug, I assure you. Love, and be loved. Skin care and especially avoiding sunlight contribute a fair bit, but genetics are by far the most important factor

Yeah I definitely know humans with good genes who have survived some horrible self abuse. It's unfair to say the least. It's why it's called the "genetic lottery".

This is applicable for east/southeast asians. Even you put them besides younger looking southasians(pakitanis, indians etc) ,east/southeast asians still look younger than them.

I know a lot of asians that look their age or even older. This seems to have no actual science basis at all lol comparing asian celebrities, whom have access to everything that make them look younger (that "young" look being their beauty standard) and western celebrities that have access to everything to make them look more mature (mature being westerners beauty standard) makes no sense. I particularly don't see reasoning behind this, because irl, when you visit these countries (western or asian) there will always be people that look younger, older, their age, beautiful, ugly, average... humans are not that different in different countries and races when you actually get to see it in person.

Asian don’t raisin, black Don’t crack. There’s plenty of Asian women at my local beauty supply store I think they’re my age (late 20s) and they’re closer to my parents (late 40s). I was stunned.

They don't. It depends on who you compare. My ex-bf's mother (Chinese) used to say this all the time... as she got her eyes done to have a double eyelid and a face lift.... Asian people get jowls, wrinkles, and undereye hollowing just like the rest of us. Generally speaking, rounder faces give an illusion of youth- from afar.

I'm already 38 years old man. I don't have wrinkles yet but some of my hair are starting to become gray. Some people still call me "tutoy" (kid). But I don't feel young. I feel too old.
