In 1921, when the ARRL needed someone to operate the Transatlantic Tests receiving station in Great Britain, it chose Paul Godley, and that was not a random choice, the ARRL wanted the person most likely to achieve success. So why was Paul Godley chosen for this ground breaking experiment?
Bruce Godley Littlefield, Paul Godley's grandson, tells his grandfather's story, about a pioneer in radio communications, whose achievements both pre-dated the Transatlantic Tests, and continued throughout his career.

Until viewing this presentation I knew little of the 1921 Transatlantic Tests and had never heard of Paul Godley. Thankfully that is no longer the case and I now understand those vague references I have heard since my youth to the importance radio amateurs (hams) played in the development of radio communications and too what a ‘giant of a man’ Paul Godley was in this field. Thank you so much for sharing this presentation, how proud you must be of your grandfather. 73 & gd DX. 😊
