Why did I repeat CAT after 99.21 percentile? My CAT Preparation Story and Journey to IIM Ahmedabad
I scored 99.21 percentile in CAT 2017. I had call from IIM Indore and FMS but none of the other IIMs. I did want to try for IIM ABC but was definitely a difficult decision to make whether to join other MBA tier -1 colleges or try another year.
A number of factors worked in my favor and I decided to take the leap of faith. Certainly, not something I will recommend everyone to do. Do watch the video to understand the criteria you should look for while making such a decision
All turned out good as I learnt a lot in my job before MBA and finally made it to IIM Ahmedabad in 2019!

Bro I got the same 9/9/7 profile and 99.2%ile in CAT22. Hope the next half of the story becomes true this year for me.
Brother can you please tell under which AC does US CMA come? I checked on the institute website and it mentioned AC 2 is only for CA/CS/CMA(India) and actuaries, hence under which AC does US CMA comes under, please guide.

Sure. Will make one. Short answer is CFA/CA+MBA profile and good academic background helps. And courses on valuation, financial modeling are important

I was really Curious to know what was the reason behind not securing top IIM's call despite having 99+ percentile. Sir my profile is 67.2(X),80.6(XII) and 84(Grad Engg) and no work ex Will I be able to secure any top IIM's call ?

You would need very high cat percentile 99.8+ if you are from general background

Evening brother! I am an engineering fresher who appeared for CAT 2022. My acads were 9/7/7 . I scored 92 percentile and belong to OBC. I didn't get BLACKI calls but my CAP interview went really smooth for a fresher. Yet I couldn't convert any. However I have secured a placement in a private core company and will be reappearing CAT next year after workex. What do you think stopped me from converting any IIM last year? And what percentile should I target based on my profile and workex.

Hello , may I know why u didn't get a call from IIM blore in second attempt even after scoring 99.91 percentile?

If you are in general category score 99.7+ for IIMC and 99.9+ is required for A,K,L

There are Bschools which do not look into past acads. It will be difficult for other bschools though (like IIM ABC)

99.6+ for fms,mdi and IIMC
10th ICSE 88, 12th CBSE 98, UNDERGRAD BCOM HONS. 9.09(2nd year), 3rd year results aren't declared till, OBC; what percentile can take me to IIM BLACKI

Not sure. Borderline acads but OBC quota might slightly help. Target 99+ anyway

99 you can get a call but will be difficult to convert for general category. Depends on your profile as well

It's a very good profile. Just focus on cat and will be very easy to get the IIM calls
Bhaiya why did you not choose FMS over IIM A and IIM C?

It's a good profile. Being non engoneer at 99+ you should have calls from ABC. 98.8+ for FMS
