Why Did I Buy a Hummer H3 vs a Jeep Wrangler or Toyota??

Great info sir! Looking to buy the H3 within next couple months. Doing more research before I decide on what year I want. After researching, I'm thinking 09/2010 is best choice? Adventure package & 4:1 differential instead of 2.6:1. I also want atleast 1 locker, hopefully both tho. Hard to come across. Maybe make a video of best year of Hummer h3? PS'- NEW SUBSCRIBER!

@@DirtwalkerOutdoors I ended up traveling 300 miles out of state & buying an 06 with adventure package from a private seller. It's only had 2 owners, carfax had every single maintenance report & they even had it detail cleaned with every oil change. Has 35" tires & came with the factory tire & rims & cast iron from differential if I ever need it. So far I am in love with it. Looking forward to more videos!

Definitely go above 2007. Ours was right on the threshold before they added the front lock in 08’. Love it, plus it’s a manual, but still it would’ve been great to have that additional lock for more technical terrain.

Great vid brother, I drove a 2005 H2 from 2010-2017 (Drove it from 99,000K miles to 210K), NEVER had a SINGLE problem out of it, I sold it to a friend and it now has 250K+ and going as strong as ever! After enjoying the H2 for so long I always wanted a H3 and that’s why I sold it to begin with, I’ve had it since 2018 (it now has 115K miles on it) and it’s been just as good to me 💯💯 I hope you enjoy your Hummer for many years to come bro!

probably the most underrated SUV of all time except maybe the Xterra which is what i went with for basically all the same reasons. i had a 1st gen Xterra for 7yrs when i got into offroading so that's why i went with it but same as you, was looking at Jeeps, Land Cruisers and 4Runners. not sure where you're at but 4Runners in the same price range (or higher!) as my Xterra were 4-8yrs older and had 50-80k more miles so it seemed ridiculous to get one. i was so fed up thinking there isn't even a vehicle for me so i just started putting stuff into Auto Trader: SUV, 4 doors, 4x4 etc. and the H3 kept popping up. after watching a bunch of videos online it seemed like a totally viable option but i went Xterra anyway because my old one was great. the 2nd gen Offroad/PRO-4X's can do 33's stock and have rear locker as well. anyway glad you like it, hope to see more. tired of seeing only 4 different models go offroad..

Another option, which I own, is the 2009 Championship Edition H3. It come with front & rear lockers, and a V-8! I love mine. I would like to lift it more, but can't find a good kit. I did see online a place in Indiana that will totally do the underneath, with a solid front axle. I am sure it is $10,000 for that. If I ever hit it big with crypto, I will do that. Thia is my 2nd Hummer H3. The first was a 2006, with the 5 cylinder. Just as the author here stated. Jeep Rubicon's are a lot more popular. You see them with 37 inch tires, etc. Just remember, they spent a lot of money, just for the stock version Rubicon, and then a lot more money for tires, lift kit, and all the other goodies. I spent $23,000 for my Championship Edition. It had 68,000 miles, and was like new. I even got a copy of the original window sticker. With all goodies, it listed for $47,000 plus!

Honestly I'm not sure why a lot of people have so much against the hummers they're absolutely fun to draw they're absolutely fun to drive comfortable and tough and in some cases, a bargain for the money. I just recently purchased an H3T For network expeditions and I absolutely love it the only thing I can't stand love it the only thing I can't stand is it doesn't want to climb worth crap when you're going up a mountain and I'm not talking about the lockers.

Dude you don't have to touch the torsions to fit 35's. Might want spacers cause you can get the tires to rub the sway bar on full turn but that's it. Of course it does look better if you crank the torsions a bit but you definitely don't have to. I drove my alpha probably 6 months with 315 75 16s before I cranked it up.

34 yrs old had my H3 for 5yrs travel alot from Florida. It rides like a champ. Very smooth and very easy to work on. If you're handy. Obviously big stuff need to go to shop if you don't have tools. But like any other vehicle. Things go wrong. Nothing last forever without breaking. So when I hear horror stories. I'm like well no shit what you thought it was going to be maintenance-free LoL 😂. If you take care of it. It will take care of you. Sure there's things I dislike. The plastic radiator 🤦🏿‍♂️. I've replace two of them. Easy fix, new water pump. Easy fix, new ignition coils, easy fix. Most things I just replaced duh to not knowing when last time it was changed or replaced. Aka preventive maintenance. A few minor things that go bad in time. Amazon has damn near all extra minor outside/inside parts you ever need. Lol 🤣✊🏿. Seriously. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿. Most costly thing I had fixed was rear main seal. $1023.00 and transfer case plastic forks replace which was $1200.00. All Hummers have this defect. You will know it when it goes bad. It should've been a recall😠😠. But you can buy the replacement online and pay to have it put in. Why the hell would GM think a plastic forks for transfer case would be ok IDK. All in all 168,067 miles. She's doing well.

Just a fault in the system Then I looked on hummer forums. Before I tell you what it was. I was going to purchase a electric fan. I read if you change the water pump you might as well change fan clutch as well. Auto zone has as package deal. So I got the package deal! Been two years. Needle stays at halfway point ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿. It's Florida it gets hot😠😠. I drove to Texas went to SeaWorld. Dead of summer. It's hotter in Texas than Florida. No issues. Ran like a champ. 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿. So before you purchase electric fan. Replace self powered fan clutch. Maybe it's just me. But I love the sound it makes when it comes on. Lol. Even when it's not on. Needle stays in middle.
