Actually, it's more than an hour. When the 30 minutes of fusion run out, the people that fused have to wait about an hour to fuse again. Since Goku and Vegeta failed the fusion twice, they had to wait for the fusion to run out and then wait again to get another try. Not counting the time they used to learn and perfect the fusion dance, Frieza fought Broly for at least three hours. I also would like to point out that it's possible to shorten the 30 minutes limit by using too much energy but I doubt that fat/skinny Gogeta can do that.

Because even Gogeta knows that the show will sell better if Frieza is around.

@@RikouHogashi not that I don't like the old Broly, he's actually my favorite character in the DBZ Tenkiechi games, but he was WAY to one dimensional! This current Broly has a better back story, is an absolute beast in the movie, and as you said, has pretty much unlimited character development with a very good possibility of becoming a good guy. To me, it's a win, win, win as long as the writers do it right AND NOT SHAFT HIM LIKE THEY DO WITH SO MANY OTHER CHARACTERS!

I'm pretty Frieza just standing down and essentially giving up was enough to stun him, since well Frieza isn't exactly known for taking the easy way out or surrendering in general, seriously the last time he was bested like this he blew up earth, so it's safe to say they were surprised by it

That's one thing about Freezy-pop that's flown under the radar for a lot of viewers, he's undergoing little bits of character development and slowly learning from his old mistakes (Well no learning as much as he should) Like he ain't ever gonna be a good guy of course, but he is changing and, well, "maturing" I guess is the right word.

There are only two people that Vegeta would never dream of harming outside of his family. Krillin and Tien. Krillin, because he lays pipe on 18 daily, and Vegeta can respect game. And Tien, because then Tien wins. And Vegeta knows that.

The takeaway i got from this. Frieza’s existence in the broly movie is space chess. And you don’t always move the king, do you?

Gogeta: "Well you were a hour for a punching bag for Legendary Super Saiyan, so I think you had your punishment."

I think that about nails it. Neither half of Gogeta would have found offing Frieza then and there to be a satisfying victory, whether it's because Frieza was too beat up and tired to offer a good fight, Gogeta's power would have been massive overkill, or simply the Vegeta half wanting to win on his own. With the threat of Broly taken care of the space emperor was out of evil schemes for the day, so yeah, might as well just tell him to buzz off and try again later.

Well, Frieza wasn't all that annoyed when Goku asked for the meaning of a word. He was surprised that's for sure but he didn't seem to show any side of aggression towards specifically Goku for the rest of the movie.

My very short answer is Gogeta just doesn't see him as important enough to care about.

Bad writing. They could blitz & put a hole through Frieza’s chest at any second. Not Goku/Vegeta’s fault, but Toriyama’s.

Well. They let him go before and he brought them the best fight they've had in ages. Who knows what Freeza will bring them the next time. Especially now that he knows that fusion is a thing. (Heck he brought them Granolah just by existing. He's a space chicken that lays golden fights)

Real reason why gogeta spared frieza is he liked him so much

Goku works his way up from base to full power unlike vegeta who fights everyone with all he got from the beginning. an example, goku vs goku black for the first time compared to vegeta vs buu or frieza

That is a good question. (I say that every time I see a question I don’t know how to answer.)

It's probably the Goku side of him being more dominate. Maybe Goku was pleased with how strong Broly was. In others words, kinda a "Thanks."

It’s absolutely craziness that Freeza can’t just accept his first death as punishment for destroying planet Vegeta. He should just go off and rule the rest of universe 7, pretty much nothing is stopping him.

I would love to see an episode where Goku tricks them into a 3-way spar in The Chamber ... just for kicks, and the fact he knows all 3 of them would be able to fight and train for literally months and all make mad gains. And Frieza would only accept the offer because he's just that curious as to whether Goku is smart enough to set a true trap or if he's being honest... in which case he could maybe have his engineers try to create such a chamber based on the scans they can get, him taking sensors in his luggage.... It makes it fair with all the Angel and God training our boys have been getting

Broly already broke his spirit, he had no fight in him. Something tells me, freezy-boy is gonna take a long vacation after that.

Love how ya ignore Frieza committing another genocide after being allowed to leave.

That was the Goku within Gogeta.

Frieza's statement of "that's not fair" and instead of asking "how!?" ..........makes me wonder if he already knew what Fusion was.....and the fact that Vegeta and Goku could do it was enough to make him realize how out of his limit he was. Now, would Vegito have let him live?

What if Akira Toriyama created Dragon Ball around the 2000's? How different would it be?

Plus Frieza is rebuilding his empire by reconquering planets that had declared their independence from his fold after revolting if you recall Resurrection F where Sorbet mentioned it and had to go through the plan of reviving Frieza in the first place.

To be completely fair, frieza did help save the universe in the tournament of power. It's also kind of Vegeta and Goku whose decision kept the universe around to begin with. Part of that deal was also to leave frieza's empire alone so long ad frieza left earth alone. Not a great deal for the universe but probably better than non-existence

Watching Gogeta let Frieza go made me realize that Dragon Ball is now no better than a Saturday morning cartoon show. There will never be stakes again.

I think Gogeta thought tactically not wanting to cause a power vaccum and an eventual galaxy spanning war with contenders wanting to attain the rank of emperor knowing that underworld kingpin Elec is on the scene

Oh my god I just realized he is the voice actor for Goku in dragon ball z abridged. I was wondering why he did a Goku impression so well.

I strongly believe Goku well and truly hated (still hates?) Raditz. Even if it was the only reasonable course of action left, Goku still chose to hold his own brother steady while Piccolo basically executed him. Goku isn't always reasonable (see: Cell and Moro), either. Goku is this super-forgiving person, yet he never even mentions his own flesh and blood anymore. It's really kind of brutal.

I just watched this last night and thought the same thing the heck gogeta !?

We need a reoccurring villian other than Pilaf.

He will keep on trying to destroy Goku and rule the world until the end of time, and Bulma (along with everyone else) just lets him because they know he will fail. Most the time Goku doesn't even lift a finger, Pilaf just defeats himself.

What if Piccolo decided to have a kid after the Buu saga? Could name the kid Benten after the god of music, signifying a partiality to King Piccolo and Kami.

Considering both Vegeta and Goku would have individually made the exact same decision, I don't understand why this is a question at all.

It was to show frieza that even with training they could stille fuse and be totally above him.. that's why frieza says in his spaceship he is always fighting 2 sayains and why he will want a companion in his corner that's why i hope cooler will come and it will be 2v2

I say he let him go bc his time was almost up. That's why he used 4 ultimates on Broly. He was trying to get the job done.

I like the Wile E. Coyote/Roadrunner and Batman/Joker references Masako, now I'm imagining Frieza doing things like shooting himself out of canons, and using Acme products to try and catch Goku and Vegeta! But it does make alot of sense relationship wise if you think about it!

its a bit wierd they didnt revive paragus, also he did seem to actually care about Broly, just not in the way everyone approves of.

Frieza also got his ass handed to him for almost an hour by Broly while our heroes were trying to fuse. The heroes got to meet another living Saiyan and fight an incredible warrior. Frieza is also like the Yin to Goku and Vegeta's Yang.

Also the fact that when fighting together the were in sink shows how well they know each other

Fun talk, but the reality is that Frieza is an important character to the fans. Like an old teddy bear that brings you comfort. The fans love Frieza, so the writers can't get rid of him.

Because Gogeta knows Frieza isn't getting another arc/power up lol.

They let him go so they could play again? Shocker.

Most people mature quickly when abruptly faced with the fact that their life indisputably depends on it.

Entertainment purposes

Let's be real. Long before Moro, Super threw out old Goku when he watches the gods erase whole universes and he happily punches more universes into oblivion afterwards. New Goku upon seeing Majin Buu released wouldn't regret giving Babidi the energy. He'd promptly go SS3 and beat the piss out of Vegeta to see if there were more Buu's to hatch.

Something else I've yet to see people talk about, is after Frieza and Goku take down Jiren, Frieza shows a bit of respect but hides it immediately when he says. "Don't make it worse by thanking me *Saiyan.* I need no other gestures so long as you keep your word to me *Monkey* "

The reason why I think that let freeze ago is due to the fact that if there is something out there in the universe I think freezer will stumble across it first. Which the cars would pick that up in an instant. It benefits them having a scout without those sayings doing the donkey work

I don’t even the old freiza would have tried to fight Gogeta. The gap between freiza and Gogeta is just to big and he would definitely notice it.

I never want to see freeza totally gone. He's such a stabilizing force in universe 7 that he opens up interesting plot threads even when he hasn't appeared in several chapters. Some may disagree but I think freeza is the best way to access the cosmos of dragonball.

Really good explanation. But there is one thing that doesn’t fit in. At least Vegeta should know that Frieza conquer and terrorised other planets. Doesn’t he feel any guilt because of that for letting him do his thing?

its crazy how goku and frieza, who are proper enemies, have such perfect synergy when fighting together, when they fought jiren together there was no flaws in their duo team, never before has any other character synergized so well woth goku in a team fight
