Numbers 20: 7, 8 says, the Lord told Moses to speak to the rock, and it would yield water. Moses struck the rock, but the Lord didn't tell him to strike the rock, this is what kept Moses from entering the promised land.

The problem with that is that he struck the rock before. And why would God tell him to take the staff with him if not to strike the rock? But the Bible specifically says why, when the Lord says that it’s because he didn’t believe the Lord and didn’t hollow his name in front of the children of Israel he was not going to enter the promise land. Not because he struck the rock, but because he did it with doubt not in the Lords power but in the Lords mercy towards Israel and without glorifying the Lord.

@@TheOhsemixI understand what you’re saying, I’m doing a study about this topic and still trying to understand better- the other possible reason why God is angry is because Moses smote the rock TWICE. When the Lord Jesus Christ died ONCE for us.

You would think that after everything the Israelites saw God do like rescuing them out of Egyptian slavery of 430 yrs, crossing the Red Sea, a wall of water cloud by day, pillar of fire by night the list goes on. You’d think they’d be faithful. Just imagine if you saw what they saw what would your reaction be. My choice would be just like it is now. Follow Jesus Christ no matter what and be as faithful as you possibly can. P.S. I love and pray for this channel. I learn so much, God bless all of you who make this happen. ✌️✌️

Here we are near the end! Make sure you're ready! Only by faith are you ready. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God. James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. Ephesians 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Jesus, God's Son set you free. He paid in pain and blood to pay for your sins and he did it for everyone! You are set free! You are set free! We are surrounded by temporary yet we aren't temporary! The Devil wants you to forget this, he is a defeated foe! John 3:15 That whosoever believe in him shall not perish but have eternal life. You are loved by the king of the universe that lives forever and forever. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life By faith in him we are set free, washed clean and made righteous. He makes our filthy garments clean. Thank you Lord, You are worthy. I can never repay you. All glory to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Even in today's world people still question the Lord. If it's not right in front of them they doubt everything including God. I know what it feels like to be in pain and suffering. Yes the easy way out is to doubt, my Outlook is "there's alot of people out there that is worse off than me". I might not like my current standings but I have to believe that it will get better if GOD so wishes.

Sounds to me like a civilization that lacked proper leadership including Mr. Moses. The God that I know is so much more intelligent than humans, to compare the differences between the intelligence of human and dogs for example would be way off. Let me give you a different perspective. I've raised Great Danes for many years and enjoy their intelligence and company but there can be many down sides with occasional mistakes. When I witness mistakes with these animals I show them again and again what's expected in the human world, without physical punishment of any type. I cannot imagine punishment like repeatedly threatening to sending them to hell and daily abuse if they didn't mind every rule ever created for the last 5000 years. I'm certainly glad my God is so much more intelligent and loving to humanity than the unfortunate folks at the receiving end of this type of stupidity and lack of leadership.

First mistake, your example is ridiculous. Humans are made in the image of God and His likeness, how foolish can you be to compare people with dogs? Compare that with your family or your friends, how much tolerance can you have after countless disappointments, how much before you let them go if they constantly let you down? For God, we are children, not dogs, we need guidance but our actions have consequences either we accept it or not. Even though we are always making mistakes, God is more merciful than we deserve. Don't assume you are better, what you'll do if your dog bite and kill your child or even bite you numerous times? Be modest, you're not that smart.

If anyone studies GOD'S Holy Word, any time you would find a verse that refers to that rock, it is referring to The LORD JESUS CHRIST as being that rock, that protection ( Det 32:4, Psalms 18:31, Isa 17:10, 26:4, 20:29, 8:14, 28:16, Dan 2:34-35, 45, Acts 4:11, Eph 2:20, Matth 21:42 ) The LORD GOD told Moses to strike the rock the first time to symbolizes that The LORD Jesus Christ was going to be stricken and suffer The Cross one time, and the water would be the water that satisfies every believer that would come to faith When Moses struck the rock the second time he was angry and The LORD JESUS was not going to be struck a second time because He has already paid for humanity's sin on The Cross. The LORD GOD told Moses to speak to the rock instead of hitting it just as we ask The LORD JESUS to save us and the water that springs out is the provision for our sins ( symbolically) The fact that water still came out the second times Moses struck it May mean that even though believes still sin, the provision for our sins will still spring out Praise our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ

By striking the Rock once, it symbolized hitting the dead Adam and paving the way for the 2nd Adam (messiah) to appear. By striking it twice, it meant that if the Jews rejected the 2nd Adam, Lucifer could attack and kill him. UNFORTUNATELY, this is what happened, against God's will. This is why Moses committed a great sin. And this is why Moses could not enter Canaan.

And I thought God didn't let them enter in the promise land because of their incredulity since they make a statue of a golden calf and also they were always whining about everything, either they have little faith or not faith at all. And God says strike once not twice. This is my humble observations.

Exodus 17:1-7 The first time the Israelites complained about getting water, God told Moses to Strike the rock. (I will stand before you there on the rock. God was allowing Moses to strike him down as a picture of Christ struck on the cross.) Numbers 20:1-13- the second time God tells Moses to SPEAK to the rock, but Moses strikes the rock (out of anger because the Israelites were complaining) Why did God have Moses strike the first physical rock and then speak to the second physical rock? When Moses struck the rock the second time, disobeying God, was that physical rock Jesus? Yes and No 1Chorinthians 10:1-4-(Spiritual rock was Christ) The 1st rock (Exodus 17:1-8 was pointing to Christ. spiritual rock being on the cross to give us life-giving water. (Jesus, according to Paul, is the spiritual rock.) John 7:38-39 Jesus gives you the rivers of living waters (HOLY SPIRIT) to give us everlasting life. Jesus is the spiritual rock that gives you living waters. Christ (spiritual rock) had already striked once by Moses. So, when Moses strikes it a second time, God punishes him because crucifying Christ over again or a "2nd time" is a sin, Hebrews 66. Revelations 6:6 John 19:34 Blood and WATER. (1 John 1:7 BLOOD cleanses us from all sin ) and (John 7:38-39. The death of Christ that gives us the fountain of living WATER the Holy Spirit

I love that you have questions, Earlier in Exodus, the Lord did instruct Moses to strike the rock to produce water: Ex. 17:6 “Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. In a second time, Numbers 20 Moses was told to speak to the rock in the desert to bring forth water for Israel: Num. 20:8 “Take the rod; and you and your brother Aaron assemble the congregation and speak to the rock before their eyes, that it may yield its water. You shall thus bring forth water for them out of the rock and let the congregation and their beasts drink.”

The Narrator says God told Moses to stike the rock. And that the Isrealites didn’t make it to the promise land. Moses and Aaron died and weren’t able to lead them. Moses didn’t follow God’s direct order. God is so good that he delivered the miracle even though his Warner was disobedient. In fact Moses’s disobedience by striking the rock twice was out of rage(Anger) was blasphemous. Jesus is the last sacrifice and the ONE that counts the most. So to strike the rock twine was Moses showing he didn’t believe God. Numbers 20:12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. It wasn’t because of the lack of faith. God blessed the Israelites regardless of their flaws. He sanctified them actually. This is a lesson about trusting God and controlling or being far from anger. Unfortunately Moses didn’t get to take his people to the “Promised Land” due to his rage. I’m not trying to correct you but I want people to understand the WORD. We must overstand because what is knowledge without understanding. As a humble serving and understanding no one is better than anyone else because we all fall short of the Glory of God May God Bless US with Goodness and Mercy!!!!!! 🤲🏾

You are WRONG. GOD told Moses to "speak" to the rock, but Moses was angry with the whinning people and struck it. Because of his disobedience, he was NOT allowed to enter the promised land.

God did not tell Moses to hit the rock. Hod told Moses to speak to the rock. By Moses hitting the rock caused Moses not to enter the promise land”cross over into Jordan” due to his disobedience to God. If you are going to tell it. At least tell it right. Shalom

Somehow this God of Israel doesn’t sound like the Supreme Being. Sounds like a god of the Israelites only, which is alright. I guess every people have their own god and there isn’t a Supreme Being.

After the fall of man his own thought created himself. Caine. We dont like this reality. Mans thought is so low that it has little energy and is dense. It forms a barrier between us and God like a black cloud in our thought. It takes effort to break to but through. We would rather sit there and make some one do the work for us. This is mirroring Egypt. Moses becomes the slave of the people. Give me. The rock is the foundation of Gods creation. We are the rock. But, we look up or down. Look up and we see God. Look down and we project Caine thought outwardly. So the people were brought to a mountain where they could look up. They could also look down and see themselves. If you could take away the rock you would see heaven. Often in the Bible people hide from God in caves or cracks in the rock. This is hiding in yourself. God stands before Moses as he strikes the rock. He punches through mans thought to recieve the water of God. Its like Christ taking away cataracts from your eyes. The second time Moses hit the rock it was an assault. The first time was a gift from God to reconnect his people. The second time he took the water by force. We recieve by accepting. By asking. Caine takes life to give it to himself. Look around you. You walk on rock.
