Watched the game, Sporting just said "fuck it" and fully went for it, rather than park the bus in a title match like certain managers do, that Klopp fighting spirit is there, and their football is direct and fast paced, Amorim upgrading to a team like Liverpool will only help him

Liverpool have that much possession because of how fast they regain the ball, therefore less possession for the opponents. However when it comes to having the ball, the style is more direct than possession-based. LFC do not camp in the final third circulating the ball around. (7th for passing sequence time and 6th for passes per sequence) Instead they look for vertical passes to target in behind-runs. (3rd for direct attacks) Stats from Opta analyst.

I would much rather he signed Isak the Swedish sweetheart striker from Newcastle United ahead of the likes of Spurs or Arsenal. I would be surprised if Amorim wasn't already aware of the Swede, given that before moving to SJP he was playing in La Liga with Real Sociedad - not a million miles away from Portugal. I would also try to sign Bowen from West Ham to replace Salah however I am sure that Amorim will have his own ideas about who should fill that role and will have someone much younger and more accomplished in mind.

Loving the content and style of analysis. Fingers crossed Amorim is the successor to Klopp as ticks all the boxes and completely agree he could be exactly what Darwin needs to hit the next level in the PL and deliver numbers like he did at Benfica. Just a thought, but if Salah does move on this summer what about bringing in Gyökeres and moving Darwin a bit wider where he often looks even more dangerous than down the middle?

Portugal is an easier league though for forwards. Gyokeres looked good at Coventry but not "top level" good. In the PL, he'd come up against much tougher defenders and defences as Nunez is finding.

This argument makes no sense. You don't compare a strikers output in the portuguese league to other leagues, you compare it with what OTHER strikers in the SAME league have been able to accomplish, to gauge his quality. Gyokeres is the real deal. He is top 5 strikers in Europe right now.
