Why Dale Jr. Thinks Scott Bloomquist is an American Badass | The Dale Jr. Download

Спорт

Scott Bloomquist is well known for his eccentric style and rockstar-like appearance. Another defining quality is Scott’s tendency to rebel, and when his father stated “I will never have no long-haired son,” well, you can guess where this is going. As a result, the image of Scott Bloomquist race fans have known for the last four decades was born, and doesn’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.

His race record speaks for itself and other things he's done involving dirt late model racing.. If anybody disagrees, they will disagree with anything. A lot of people don't like somebody that wins fairly and does other things that help the sport they're in or just because that person may not be their favorite driver. Facts don't care if somebody is liked or what they have done

HE IS THE GOAT! There isn’t a Dirt Racing Fan that doesn’t have a Bloomer Story. And there isn’t a Race Fan Period. Who doesn’t know his name. He is polarizing, controversial, innovative and a complete Genius! Like he said, “3/4 of the Rule Book Today is because of me.” In the mid to late 80’s. Sanctioning Bodies had to make the Box ALOT smaller. To combat some of the stuff he was coming up with. I remember when he came up with what we called Being “clamped up”. He mentioned it in another part of interview. When he started that. It completely changed the whole sport of DLM Racing. Not only on the mechanical side. But from the Fan side as well. First because of the speed pick up. And second, because of the visual effect. Packing the LF off the corner all the way down the straight aways. It completely changed everything. It made the class more interesting to watch on TV. Before, DLM’s were VERY slow looking. Once being clamped became a thing. It became easier to introduce fans to the class. There was a massive effect on the way it visually made the Racing appeal to the new or casual fan. Or the time when led like the first 20 laps of the DREAM at Eldora. They stopped him. Made him take a “prototype” window net out of the car. After he had raced it all weekend. They restarted him in the Back. With like 75 to go. He re-took the lead on like Lap 80 and won the Race. He said afterword, “ If they hadn’t of done that. I would have lapped the field.” “That’s what wouda happened.” “That would have been entertaining.” “But nothing like that was.” Just type in Scott Bloomquist on KZread. You will see what I mean. It good to see him laughing and having a good time. See, NASCAR needs someone like a Scott Bloomquist. Someone who walks to the beat of their own drum. Someone not so polished and refined.

@@tillman40 I think the cast he had on his wrist when he won the 88 World 100 was from a Sprint Car Crash. Not for sure…but I think so? If that makes sense. That is one detail he didn’t mention in the interview. Was about how he won that First Workd 100 with a cast on his arm.

Lil Joe Izzo, i had guys i rooted for..but these 2 are pry my favorites because what they meant to me personally. First heard about Scott Bloomquist in 1994 while working at Phase 2 Graphics in Pine Level North Carolina. We made graphics for many of the local stock car racers, but heavily involved in the larger dirt racing series. The owner (Joe Walters) use to talk about Scott all the time and what a crazy, party animal and incredible racer he was. So cool to see the podcast as it brought back many good memories of Joe, (rest in peace).
