Please have a fact check before publishing such news. This is actually a cross of Lippens x Hadens created by F D Irwin of south florida in 1939. Later in 1970s this cultivar was widely cultivated in Taiwan. Subsequently in 80s to Japan, where it is grown in specialised poly houses , and the fruits are allowed to detach naturally and harvested in net bags. The gifting culture of Japan makes it costly. Not the taste. These fruits are not that expensive as reported and are not that rare to find in nurseries. Just a hype.

We used to have those years ago It couldn't grow well and died off after 2 years of growing Taste close to Alphonsos but much sweeter and the flavours too strong the smell would go up in your nose and really mess up the receptors Been 12 years still the best mango I've tasted..And it wasn't even a healthy Miyazaki..it was guite small and usually shrivel cuz we weren't even caring for it and thought it just another mango species like the different mango trees we have around the garden

I have these plants too its “Irwin Mangoes “ but in Japan they are called Miyazaki Mangoes they are not that expensive as the say only few in Japan gets better prices and what makes them very expensive in Japan is how they Grow them!! @@condommable bahut sari nursery ye mango tree bechte hai, high grade mango hi 2.7 lakh jata hai usse evenly red karne ke liye niche silver plate lagate hain aur ek ped pe ek hi mango ugate hai . Ye mango japan me bhi 600, 700 me mil jata hai. Ise "egg of sun" bhi kehete hain. Tumhe ye ped chahiye to ek nursery ka number hai unse mil jayega.
