Cobra Kai never dies.

Cobra Kai is a great example on how a classic series is brought back. Bring back the original characters and introduce brand new ones to work in, win us over and then pass it on for a new generation. Every season was so good. Although season 4 wasn't as great as 3 and 5, it was still awesome.

Nostalgia for the 80s and also 90s is huge now, I heard Top Gun Maverick is the biggest film of the year and Cobra Kai most watched show. People are tired of the dark, dreary, depressing "post 911" entertainment we have been served up for the past 20 years

After massive disappointment from other popular decades-old IP, I was worried about Cobra Kai as Karate Kid is one of my favorites. It’s compelling, full of heart, entertaining, and not politically correct. It can be a bit cartoonish (which I’ll say is it’s only weakness). It’s a gem.

It’s great for all the same reasons the Yakuza games are great. People mistake their silliness for stupidity, but neither can be stupid because they know exactly what they are and make no apologies for it. And when all’s said and done, they’re just great fun

This show is great but some moments are absurd obviously due to the unrealistic nature of ppl getting away with things but I think Star Wars writers who are currently with Disney need to take notes from this

When I first heard about this show i was like "what ? A spin off an iconic trilogy from the 80s? It's gonna be terrible" (especially that it was originally a KZread original) but boy was i wrong about this... It's one of my favorite ongoing shows on Netflix. I haven't seen the trilogy but I don't need to and that's what I like about it, and yeah it's flawed but doesn't take itself too seriously. And the best part is that the show keeps getting better and better, seasons 4 and 5 are pretty spectacular.

I don't know if this is a compliment or an insult but but if I didn't know any better I would say the S.E.A. wrote the script for this video

I also like that they have two generations, both, mostly, equally focused on. The older 40s/50s generation, and the younger teen/early 20s (sure, their supposed to be in high school, but are characterized a bit older, and autonomous for teenagers).

I watched the original movies in 2019, because the first two seasons were getting released on Netflix and everybody kept saying how amazing it was, so I figured I'd better watch them for context. So in my case, the quality of the show is what made me a fan of the movies

I think it is because they maintain the 80s ridiculousness and they don't shy with it, so we don't expect it to be otherwise, we know it is just for fun. As a martial art practitioner, I know much about it are all just BS, but that what makes it fun. It is a fantasy that we hope for in reality,. martial art world isn't as fun as in the show. But personally, I think season 5 isn't as good as previous episodes, it feel rushed, the ending is unsatisfying to me. Hope season 6 is not a disappointment.

@Bad Boys Boogie yeah exactly, season 4 was more interesting because it was building the all valley tournament and when we got there it was great. But season 5 had a lot of character development and i feel like all the relationships are now stable and we're not gonna have anymore of these teen dramas. I like both seasons equally.

Yeah, it is actually a good way to promote martial art, I actually joined Taekwondo at 12, 1992 (half way white belt because I got asthma lol) and later Silat (Malaysian traditional MA, it is hard to convince my parents after I quit TKD, but luckily they allow and Silat suit me with my condition) at 14, 1994 because of the original Karate Kid. At 18 I learned other form of Silat when I go into college. I am sure Cobra Kai inspire many other kids of today generation to learn martial art.

Isn't that what monkey love is? 😂They even emphasized in the movie that we don't always end up with the person we fall in love in school/college. So we can assume that they all will end up with someone else when they grow up, like their dads and moms. The teen love drama part is just the spices and salt to sprinkle here and there.

Karate kid 3 and the next karate kid are very underrated. Also the reason cobra kai isn't bashed is because they didn't advertise the show that much before the show came out so all the haters couldn't immediately hate this show before it came out like other shows like she hulk. I guarantee you if the show was more talked about before it came out then idiots like geeks and gamers and the quartering would make a bunch of videos hating the show before it even comes out. They would also call sam and maybe even tory a mary sue for even being close to the same level as the male fighters.

Most of what you say is true but Sam and Tory are not Mary Sues for one reason sam and Tory were already trained to fight the show explains this for both Sam trained with Daniel as a child and Tory trained in kickboxing for them to be a Mary Sue they would both have had to be no training and the reason they can beat the male fighters is skill not strength so it makes sense they can win and she hulk isn’t a Mary Sue but she’s not a good character not as bad as people say but not good.

I know you get tons of comments like this, but once more (lol)… While I highly appreciate your thorough takedowns from the general anti-fandom rage-o-sphere (please don’t stop making those, by the way, as the algorithm needs to be flooded with more videos like yours to temper the aggression of fans and keep them from falling down a dangerous rabbit hole to the alt-right pipeline) videos like this are like Aerith Gainsborough’s Healing Wind limit break; a calm breeze after a major storm. 😌 I too am a fan of the original Karate Kid movies, so Cobra Kai was an instant hit for me. I love the series as a whole, yet Season 3 was my favorite, but now Season 5 has taken its spot. Haha! This show definitely has a lot of good going for it. One of my favorite moments in Season 5 is when the tables are turned and Daniel hits rock bottom. Losing the dojo, hellbent on his warpath against Silver and Cobra Kai, and hitting a major bump in his marriage, he becomes depressed and essentially becomes Season 1 Johnny for a brief period (heavy drinking and a 5 ‘o clock shadow). It’s Johnny (whose life is taking an upturn) who helps Daniel get back on his feet. I really liked their dynamic in Season 5. Do not get me started on Miguel. His actor, Xolo Maridueña, really shines in this season. I can see why he was chosen to portray the titular role of Jaime Reyes in the upcoming Blue Beetle movie. He plays Miguel really well, especially in his journey to Mexico to find his biological father and the tragic disappointment he endures after finding him, then tempered by the ray of hope once Johnny finds him is just… oh man! My heart can only take so much! 🥰 Anyway, I digress! Great analysis! Keep it up!

Clone Wars is the best Star Wars material besides the original 3, cobra kai is great and better than Star Wars sequels but I wouldn’t say that

The dialogue is NOT bad. Have you ever sat behind actual 14 yr olds and listen to them talk?! Compared to reality the show is shakespeare! Bu...but you think the dialogue is ba but Wiliam Zabka is good? He barely moves his face muscles to show emotion! He is the worst actor of the whole cast! You know what? You just made me care less about your ability as a critic... like 99% less

Sorry Turf, it did have the potential. It lost its way after season two, and hasn't been able to resuscitate itself. I'm just glad Johnny's character wasn't written as erratic as the story and he was able to showcase great character growth. The best part about it is he was able to adopt to the new generations perception of social awareness while staying true to classic elements that made him him. He's what change looks like when it tries. It's not perfect, but goddamn it his heart is in the right place.

@@anthonyl9126That’s a fair assessment of the seasons, the first 2 seasons, along with 4, are my favorite seasons probably, but I really like them all. If u don’t mind, what about the later seasons makes you feel like it’s not on the same level of Seasons 1 and 2?
