From orchid vendors, either locally, online or mostly at orchid Shows in South Florida. Catasetums I buy from Fred Clarke (SVO), Jim-n-I Orchids, Stephen Moffitt and South American vendors for species

Some areas are underneath an overhang and sheltered from the rain but the vast majority of the orchids are not. Dormant Catasetums are always put underneath an overhang and never get any rain.

Hi Olivier. My Jumbo Puff grew two new bulbs and the leaves began to yellow a month ago. They haven’t fallen, but I haven’t watered the plant since then. Should I leave it and wait for the next new growth to occur? My plant seems to have a very confused calendar!

Hi Sunita! Good to hear from you! Some of my plants are also confused. It is NOT an exact science. Please note your Jumbo Puff can bloom on leafless bulbs! If you have leaves still, I would continue watering albeit much less. Check the plumpness of the bulb. It should be nice and plump before dormancy or before blooming. Hope this helps!
