You guys rock. Chad, I love you explain this! I wish there was the same for after effect
Great stuff, guys! Any chance of a Redshift to After Effects ACES workflow course in the future? Definitely looking forward to something like this.
Wow, thanks for that great info! I'm curious, at 5:47 how did you get your shot + CG converted back to the original LOG C look?
finally Aces tuto !
i love this apresentation!
How does this work when there is no convert node in c4d to A? As far as I know when using OCIO in c4d and Arnold you can only tell it under the colour manager what the narrow sRGB colour space is and in the image node what the texture is, for example utility - sRGB - texture for a diffuse map, or utility - linear - sRGB for a HDRI. For a true ACES workflow don't you need to pre-convert all your textures into ACEScg outside of c4d and then bring them in?
Hey chad- does hdri link work natively with aces, or do you have to load the texture into a shader network and apply it?
I did this tutorial and one major workflow shortcut was skipped... you can change all of your grayscale data maps or srgb maps from srgb to utility-raw or utility-srgb-texture all at the same time through the "Asset/Tx Manager" makes a huge difference in workflow. rather than doing a dropdown for every single map you bring in you can do your converting in batches after texturing and before restarting the ipr.
Do you have any Video how to make an Audio Wave or something like that?😬❤
Is ACES only relevant for footage / motion? or is it still useful if I only make still images for print / web?
how to display ACES colors in c4d? can only see when exporting the file into nuke
I took the full course and yes it was very informative. My main complaint is that it's Arnold specific and not very useful to me right now :(
Please could you teach us how to make plugins
how can anyone even dislike this? Perfectly informative and easy to digest

Does Houdini support it?
Redshift also has OCIO
is there any mention of ACES in After Effects in the full tutorial?

It's sort of a living series. Todd will be adding the After Effects ACES tuts soon. 👍
Are you working in ACEScg yet?

I wish! I'm working since a while with ACEScct in Resolve, but unfortunately my render engine (corona *duckandhide*) doesn't support it yet :(

Hi Maxx! You can get the rest of this training and much more at Greyscalegorilla Plus. bit.ly/gsg-plus
Oh, Mr. Ashley is here. You look more skinny, mate! Looking great!
why not stick to the most popular OCTANE and AFTER EFFECTS ?
So this was mostly to promote Arnold ;)
Apparently, some dude contacted Maxon about ACES and the Germans were like "Was ist das!?". I think we are going to wait a long time before C4D and Redshift start supporting ACES.

I find the color space thing confusing. And watching this I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing..!!!

It’s similar to jpeg VS HDRI images but in term of colors. HDRI images allow you to make the images brighter or darker and don’t clip white or black (lose the information.) ACEScg color space allows you to make far more saturated colors and the image doesn’t clip to pure 100% saturated colors.

Same here. I've been doing cg for a long time and feel like I finally have my brain wrapped around linear workflow... Now this comes along and it looks even more confusing and very easy to screw something up by missing a single step
c4d +redshift +aces 1.2+nuke workflow tutorial pls?
