Going to have to correct one thing. The balloons don't hover over one spot over the Earth. They generally move with the jet streams, which is why we waited until the first balloon we saw went out over water to shoot it down.
China-that's not our balloon After shooting it down-why did you shoot down our balloon?
Why the highest resolution photo of the ballon you showed (right before the illustrated reconstruction, 0:18 ) looks edited with a patch/stamp tool where the satellite-like structure would be?
Worth noting: satellites are also predictable. They’re constrained by orbital mechanics so you can easily make a time table of what satellite is going to be overhead when. That means you can know when to hide your secret project so your enemy doesn’t learn about it. A balloon can go wherever and can stay out of view if it’s high enough.
It's Pacific Ocean

When considering how high resolution images a balloon can take compared to a satellite you have to also consider the quality of the camera. If you put the satellite quality camera on the balloon it would take incredible images but might be a bad investment considering the predictable way its journey ended. Even without it being shot down the equipment will be difficult to retrieve. Balloons have a finite and difficult to predict lifespan. It all just depends on what that one time use is worth to the country.

Disclaimer: many things presented as facts in this video have not yet been proven. The rush to panic about this commonly occuring event is not rational. Rather, it a symptom of prejudicial hysteria, probably driven by a few commentators with political motives. Be wary anytime someone states something controversal as a fact - they probably have an alternative agenda.

Survilian equipment? Who are you trying to fool here? it is a solar panel that's the power source for your info.
Satellites are more accurate, not affected by weather and are not affected by false flags
Real or not, it's actually smart, but not for the reasons that you may think. Using balloons is cheaper, effective and when detected you still have the "out of control weather stuff" card to play, which is actually a better excuse than the "our stealth drone pilot got lost during training". That said, if they wanted infos they have way better, already operative means.

This balloons is immune to bullets so US Air Force use missile with anti-balloon capabilities.
Once upon a time, I was just a simple surveillance balloon, manufactured in a factory in China. I was launched into the sky, filled with helium and equipped with the latest technology to keep an eye on the United States. At first, I felt proud of my purpose. I was tasked with keeping watch over a foreign land, collecting information and sending it back to my makers. But as I floated higher and higher into the sky, I began to feel a sense of loneliness. I was just a tiny speck in the vast expanse of the sky, disconnected from everything below. Despite my feelings of isolation, I carried out my mission diligently. I floated over cities, towns, and rural areas, gathering data and transmitting it back to China. But as the days passed, I started to see the world below in a different light. I saw the people going about their daily lives, the children playing, the families spending time together. I couldn't help but feel a connection to these people, despite the fact that I was there to spy on them. One day, as I was floating over a bustling city, I heard the sound of a plane approaching. At first, I didn't think much of it. But as the plane got closer, I could see that it was heading directly towards me. Suddenly, there was a loud explosion and I felt a sharp jolt. I realized that I had been shot down by the plane. As I fell towards the earth, I felt a mix of emotions. I was scared and saddened that my mission had come to an end, but I was also relieved to be free from the loneliness of the sky. I gently crash-landed into the ocean. I felt at peace. My mission was over, and I was ready to start a new journey.

I wanted to believe a Chinese language post could be an honest opinion, but no, it's just supporting the China government talking point that it's a weather balloon. Sorry, no, this wasn't a weather balloon and no this amount of material cannot be assembled for 20 thousand.

Bruh. I didn't buy into the covid hysteria before and I won't now. One, I had covid. It wasn't fun and I had a fever for 2 days but it was hardly lethal. Two, there are other ways that such diseases spread. Thinking that it's stored inside the balloon is idiotic and shows how little you actually know about these types of aircraft, viral diseases, or anything in general for that matter.
