@@harekrishna165 Arunachal is bigger than your Assam. Parts of Arunachal still have horrible roads just like Assam roads aren't very good either in some parts. You sound dumb. And tawang roads have been good for a decade now despite the snow blockades in the winters. You must be one of those people that don't know what's happening around.

1.China made rapid progress in India in 1962 that left their supply line stretched. 2. The war happened around month of October and November with impending harsh winter. In winter the high passes which connects Tibet with arunachal get closed due to snow. China knew that their military which entered India would be cut off and would be left without supply. Which will be a logistical nightmare. 3. There were interventions from the Soviet and USA both. 4. So China decided to do a trade off, they made progress on two sides, in Arunachal Pradesh and in Ladakh. They offered truce on condition that they will withdraw from Arunachal but they will keep Aksai chin, through which they had already built a highway. I wonder if India had just waited for a little more time, what would have happened in the winter. 5. Also, there is another interesting fact, China's military progress was being hindered by the lack of infrastructure on the Indian side. There were basically no roads. So even they could not progress. That left some parts of the Indian decision makers with belief that lack infrastructure is a natural defence against any aggression. This was appalling thought. To leave Indian citizens in the hinterland to suffer for years and now India is playing catch up with the Chinese. This is the best I could summarise Dipanshu bhai. I hope this clears some of it. Any one is free to correct me if I go wrong somewhere. I admit that I don't know everything.

@ayanchakraborty4678 ... Thanks. Accurate analysis on why China left Arunachal Pradesh during 1962. The only reason Indian troop there lost, is due to lack of infrastructure like communication, roads, etc., that is because Nehru foolishly decided not to develop those border areas assuming when no one can reach those peaks, the enemy also won't. It's like closing your eyes, and no one can see you. Stupid judgement.

Beautiful video. I worked in almost all parts of North East including Arunachal Pradesh. Chinese army came very close to Tezpur in 1962. They went back mostly due to the fact that winter was fast approaching and it was not possible to maintain the logistics for them from Tibet. Tibet was not developed during 1962. Besides USA was on our side at least in terms of supplying some equipments. Lastly Indian army was preparing for a retaliation. Besides a small and unprepared Indian army was fighting bravely. This approach paid off in 1967 during the Nathula conflict in Sikkim.

What infrastructure development you are talking about? That tunnel will only help the Indian army. It will not bring any economic prosperity to Arunachal Pradesh. North East India is the most underdeveloped area of India even after 10 years of BJP.

The main reason for the Chinese retreat in 1962 was that they were not able to consolidate their logistics after gaining initial foothold . In mountain warfare just winning a piece of land is not enough , one has to fetch up the logistics for sustainenance of the forces. They had to retreat hastily from Misamari till where they had reached in first wave.

India is so beautiful with very long sea coasts and snowcapped mountains and deserts and heavy rainfall and all the three climates … rainy, cold and summer….. with worlds talkest mountains and deepest seas and thousands of varieties of animals and birds and flowers and fruits and foodgrains, with most fertile land and enough of water, temperatures ranging from -10 Degrees to 45 degrees, innumerable rivers and forests and sanctuaries and huge mountains . State of the art engineering and architecture is seen in the temples . No single wonder of world can match it . But the government never included it it in the wonders of world and always kept the country underdeveloped for its own benefits .

The reasons China backed off from Tawang during the Indo-China War of 1962 in bullet points: - Harsh terrain: The rugged Himalayan landscape posed significant logistical challenges for Chinese troops, making it difficult to sustain occupation. - Remote location: Tawang's isolation and distance from supply lines made it impractical for long-term occupation. - International pressure: Concerns about escalating the conflict and facing international condemnation may have influenced China's decision. - Strategic considerations: China may have calculated that withdrawing from Tawang would avoid overextension of its forces and allow them to consolidate gains elsewhere.

@@ifsNbuts sardar Vallabhbhai Patel the iron man of india was there that time but he was looking after southern and western part of india to merge with india and he did his best. Nehru was looking after Kashmir part and we lost half of Kashmir (such a looser) and still became prime minister of india in khangress rulling party.

Before October 1962 Krishna Menon was our Defence minister who was like cowerd of person. He did not realise the need of army. He even wanted to disassemble army. During China War 14November Yashwantrao Chavhan A Maratha became Defence minister. He ordered recruitment of one peron per house. Indian Army become prepared to regain land. That's why china announced one sided cease fire
