This film totally blew me away. Days later I feel like I just want to immerse myself in the warm glow that Cooper Raiff has left. I feel as lovesick as Andrew and just want to live in the magical moment when I was watching it unfold on my screen for the first time. It was perfect.
Great essay although I would like to counter the ending. Every time we see Andrew dancing in the film he is either looking at someone or surrounded by people. At the end he seems to be content with himself dancing almost closing his eyes knowing that he doesn’t need to rely on others for his happiness and this is his time to forge his own path
Andrew was a very nice, super sweet, and attentive guy. The only problem with that is, being nice doesn’t pay the bills. From his mom, his college girlfriend, and even Domino, they all “needed” a man who can pay the bills, and whatever other nice things brought to the table are simply a bonus. I’ve experienced this in my own life, having a great connection with a woman, only to be passed up for some guy who makes a lot of money. This movie is a great lesson for guys who are hopeless romantics but haven’t put much thought into their career. Love doesn’t pay the bills.

Found your video, I had the chance to watch it and vote for it at Sundance in 2022; at first I only watched ti because Dakota Johnson was in it, finished the movie at my house crying and with a big identitiy crisis. Long story short this movie was an inspiration for me, had my heartbroken, got a job, moved to my own house, cried every single day, accepted I have depression and worked with it. Watched it again and now my perspective of life is so different from when I watched it in 2022 because like you said "Nobody knows anything" and yeah I'm a dumb adult but now I have more responsabilities.... Is a great movie, I wish it has more distribution but sadly that's not how it works.
great movie. great video. fave line "selling your time is insane"
I just watched this movie for the first time last night, and it was magic. Besides The Fabelmans, I haven’t related to a movie as hard as I related to this one here, especially to the character of Andrew. This film is just so beautifully poignant and I thank you for pointing out everything that works so well in this script. Definitely got yourself a new sub! :)
this is such great video man. loved this movie and your analysis of it. keep up the good work!
Great analysis of this amazing film with a true bitter-sweet ending
Nobody knows what they're doing and it's ok... yeaaaah 💚
This movie is everything
My local vintage restored movie theater played this on the big screen, sad I didn’t go see it but still enjoyed it on the home watch.

Great party
Well he is a white dude. Most people have much better stuff that never gets seen because they don’t have connections and get rejected immediately. No one will even look. I kind of think it’s sad one already has to have connections, be popular, and usually the same gender and race as executives /producers seeing it for the first time to even get considered.
