I owned a '67 Tiger back in 1972 and it had the 289 Hi-Pro 271 HP engine + the 4-spd. tranny. Man, that was a fast car. I loved it when a TR4, TR6, MGB, or other British sports car would pull up next to me at a stoplight and rev his engine. lol He had NO idea what he was messing with. Just for fun I would accelerate slowly enough that we were about even and then at 30 mph would nail the throttle. ZOOM! Leaving him looking perplexed and in the dust. Also raced a few other cars, such as a Mustang and a Corvette. I beat the mustang but was edged out by the 'Vette. His fuel injected 365 HP 327 was no joke, also a fast car. The fun part was him looking back in the rearview mirror to see me, not spotting me, and then looking over his other shoulder to see me in his blind spot. Good times. 😀

I had a 66 Tiger in the 80's. Paid $4500. I replaced the Ford 260 with a 302 ported and polished high rise and a dual feed holly and I had an automatic transmission. Had to cut an area for the bigger bellhousing. Going from Bullhead City to Kingman Arizona a cop started after me when I went through an inspection station. When he caught me in Kingman he said his cruiser could go 150mph and he said I was leaving him at 150mph. He had me open the hood to see all the chrome and he liked my car so much he gave me a ticket for loud pipes and a warning for speed and I thought I was going to jail.

My Mother Had one when I was a little Boy. It had a 302 Ford engine in it and it was Perl White. I remember it very well. And she used to race it. And it out ran a Corvette once.

Stupid question,... Using the premise of stuffing the biggest engine in the smallest car like the BMW 2002 did, is it feasible to do a LS swap on a new gen Fiat 124 Spyder or use the Toyota V6 like the Lotus Evora did in the same Fiat Spyder?

I owned a Tiger back in the day and that stock as a stove 260ci engine didn't produce anything like 164bhp. In 1985 my 1300cc Mk1 Ford Escort (72bhp dyno'd) would have beaten it over 1/4 mile.

There's kits out there for the old 90's 302, for Gm v8s, and people have put jaguar v8s, Ford modular v8s, Toyota/Lexus v8s and dodge v8s in them.

Due to the BABVVO and TEBBVO laws, all petrol cars will unfortunately soon be banned from public streets in the EU, CH USA and Scandinavia :-( In Germany, the Green People's Party has given the order to shorten the fuel supply from 2025 by reducing all conventional gas stations to just one state-run central gas station per city or county Now they even want to slow down all gas pumps by 20 liters per minute to 2 liters per minute... From 2027, some car spare parts will also be banned in the EU... such as exhaust systems, turbochargers and even some engine and gearbox oils. .. California and New York will do the same from 2027... So no more investing in petrol cars... They even created a new type of crime here called emissions and smoke crime . "Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbotsverordnung" BABVVO in Germany and HESCHLAVVO in Switzerland.
