    please post the recipe of Cantonese sponge cake shown in the video. Oversea Chinese are very anxious, expecting to taste it again for several decades. Would be very appreciated if Goldthread can do it for all of us oversea. We cannot get it here.

    Literally when it starts breaking apart and you can see the rattan unravelling. For home use this will almost never happen. For restaurants, because they use the same steamer so many times in a day it wears down quicker.

    I used bamboo steamers at home for a while and they were great to use but over time, they got curly and unuseable to the point that I had to throw them out.

    Bamboos grow very fast so they are a great renewable resource. But of course, we should take from commercially planted bamboo forest specific for harvesting not just cut down wild bamboo forest.

    Unlikely, unless timsum vanished from earth. Nothing beats the fragrance of the food steamed using a bamboo steamer. Imagine zongzi wrapped with plastic instead of bamboo leaves...
