If we are to survive in this economic crisis we need assistance right away. The ETF and stock markets are still quite volatile, just like the property market. I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my $300k stock portfolio

Many people are still getting fantastic returns on their investments during this time. Simply maintain a strong sense of reality or ask for professional assistance.

It's often true that people underestimate the importance of financial advisors until they feel the negative effects of emotional decision-making. I remember a few summers ago, after a tough divorce, when I needed a boost for my struggling business. I researched and found a licensed advisor who diligently helped grow my reserves despite inflation. Consequently, my reserves increased from $275k to around $750k.

I cannot understand why more Australians aren’t fighting back against a cashless society, yes I know we use tap and go more these days, but we still need cash. Cashless means governments know exactly where you are, what you buy, when you buy. It’s a very slippery slope for governments then dictating when, where and how we spend our money.

The thing is, this has creeped up out of the blue to a certain extent. Not so long ago it was LAW that vendors were to accept cash. What happens in a disaster like the QLD cyclones when power goes out. We are living in a world totally reliant on electricity supply and computers being online !! What could go wrong?

And how many Aussies use cards- say 20 million. Thats alot of money. Project reported banks made $1 billion in 2023 off it. Whine Whine .... you're bringing in your own issues on something that isn't related to it. $50 given to a hairdresser, will be $50 that hairdresser gives to a butcher, which will be $50 that butcher pays electricity with. $50 credit given to the hairdresser, is $50 less fees given to the butcher, which is $50 less two lots of fees given to pay for electricity until it reduces to nothing.
