It impresses me how Arsenal were able to scout and capture this talent from Brazil's 3rd division. I don't think it was the raw talent that they were after, but intelligence, adaptability, development and decision making. Really impressive scouting!

They definitely looked at the mentality side of things too. He was rejected numerous times at United and Barca, hence why he plays with a chip on his shoulders esp against big teams he always turns up if you watch him carefully. He’s very fearless and hungry

What i like about this kid is that he's very forward thinking. He's all about going forward whether it's dribbling with the ball or whether pass and go. He's not about slow the play up, play side to side or backwards. He's got good appetite too.

I am here after he score this same goal against Newcastle. He hasn't been playing all season so its going to take a little time for him to get back to his best. With Martinelli in form, the season looks bright for Arsenal finishing top 4. This kid reminds me of Ronaldo, Robinho, Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho and Nemar all in one.

@@JayVee53 man was injured for 9 months, then after his return he played a game against Newcastle in fa cup and then got injured again, he was working on his recovery all summer till the begining of the season, Arteta didn't want to rush his return cuz he was in a delicate period of his career and he wanted him to work further on himself to be a better player guess it's all paying off right now. Credit to Arteta
He has amazing vision for his age and excellent soft touch while dribbling fast. Already proven he can be a star performer at the Europa Cup level. Arsenal is probably waiting for him to get a little stronger before they give him more minutes in EPL.

he was 18 man... they were scouting him but then arsenal came up first and it was done deal from that point on. Had Arsenal not came up with an offer for him, he most likely would have been sold to a brazilian giant like Flamengo, Palmeiras, Corinthians, Cruzeiro, São Paulo or others. And you know brazilian scouts overall are not the brightest, unless they are lucky a major talent already plays for the youth of a big club like in most of the cases, they never seen to be able to pick up a gem that played his youth career in a smaller side
