His system is more similar to Jürgen so he Slots in to the structure more seamlessly. The difference is he plays with two defensive midfielders and one more advanced one, pushing the fullbacks forward more.

Yes, his game is similar to Klopps but I feel like this style of play, with this intensity is difficult to play over a whole season. Especially at this level in the Premier League + European Competition, where you have a game every 3 days. I think that's also the problem at the moment, in addition to the many chances we miss, the players seem tired and without energy + the many injuries.

Absolutely agree with you! I would prefer it if we played like Arsenal. Klopp’s style of football causes injuries and burnout. That’s why I was looking forward to Alonso or Amorim.

@@Secretorder13 Slot is inspired by Pep. Yes he plays attacking football and presses from the front. But so do Arsenal. Slot’s teams play one touch football. There’s patterns of play and at times it’s tiki taca to create space. So I’m quite excited because at this moment in time we look shapeless and there’s very little patterns of play.

Another brilliant & insightful video, l think Slot's style certain suits alot of our squad. Robertson & Trent can play to both of their strengths in Slot's system. Robertson is at his best burst forward into space made by the left winger coming in & supplying the width with great energy & enthusiasm. Whilst Trent's strengths are his passing range & his creativity from deep coming into midfield. MacAllister, Wieffer & Trent as the 3 infront of the centre backs in thr build up play would be perfect. Using Jones, Szoboszlai or Gakpo on thr left coming inside would suit all 3. Diaz possibly on the right with Salah maybe being sold plays to his strengths too. Playing in the side of his strongest foot would allow him to be a real touch line hugging winger which he's brilliant at being. Elliott, Szoboszlai both really good options at the AM, throw Jota into the mix too!

I've always wanted us to play the traditional 4-2-3-1 more for utilising Nunez as the focal point having 3 forwards around him Jota in a 10 role just behind Diaz or gakpo on the left Salah doak or Elliot on the right.. Nunez and Jota interchanging feeding off eachother and setting up..szobs can also play anywhere in that 3 or midfield..a staggered two one playing as a defensive midfielder the other playing a pirlo type role connecting back four to midfield and attack..it can also be adapted to a 3-4-3 and 3-5-2 for when you need to take the heat out of the game.

Really don’t want to stay in a 433 formation which is my only worry with Slot. Alonso formation would have been better with the team changes needed, i.e Salah out and potentially Diaz with a high offer. And maybe Nunez if there was a going to be a single “target man”. Liverpool need to have a goal scoring AM!! That’s what is going to win essential games. Had to name a player Florin Wirtz!!

Prefer hers to the Liverpool channels to be fair. They get too carried away. Most of us Liverpool fans have seen it all before. We know pretty quick when we are hitting bad form. We know it doesn't normally last but we know when the title has gone and for us, it was against ManU.

Hancko and Geertruida are top notch defenders from Feyenoord. I expect Slot to take one or maybe two players with him. We will see.

Here is the thing though ... we should not be playing like Klopp. We really need a change in tactics. So the reason "he is most similar to Klopp" is kinda shit. The past few matches have been the same. Opponents just play deep and we just can't break them consistently. Then we concede some sloppy goals and they just put 11 man behind the ball and voila. That's why I wanted Xabi or Amorim. We really need some new build up play / tactics. We are wasting Szoboslai as a workhorse ...

Not gonna lie, I'm excited at the prospect of Slot. I'm often called out because I don't blindly adore Klopp and wasn't at all disappointed by his decision to leave. I love him for what he's done at the club but I think he's taken us as far as he could and it's time for a change. If you look at performances across the whole of this season we had absolutely no right to be in the title race as long as we were and we were truly shocking in the Europa League. So many poor performances where our opposition knew exactly how to keep us quiet, catch us on the break, and make us look poor but a moment of magic from Salah, Mac Allister, or even Nunez, papered over the cracks.

I hope stories that he wants 90m signing forward are false because fsg will retake their contract and vanish like smoke...any new manager MUST MUST MUST be CHEAP and work with players already there...thats why klopp was incredible (a world class elite manager willing to work with mediocre players and a sporting director that's usually a combination only found at mid table clubs with mid table managers)...prob where lfc will be in next year mid season 😂

I can understand why Edwards doesn’t want to drastically change the formation and go with someone similar to klopp, Man Utd didn’t even change formation just style of play and it’s took them 400 million and if one CB gets injured they’re back to Ole ball. With Amorim and Alonso we’d need to sell wingers buy CBs and and experiment with our midfield it’s a lot of change and we’d have to change how our academy works. We stayed in the title race with our academy players and have just fallen off when big players were out of form. I don’t think people understand how valued it is keeping the same style of play when you’re down to academy lads. It got us a trophy this season

I was not super aware of Slot, other than what he did last season and previous Spurs links but the more I have researched him it makes sense. Amorim/ Alonso bigger more exciting names but this could be smart. Ange has had a decent first year at Spurs but most Spurs fans felt it was an underwhelming name for manager. Bit like Liverpool getitng Endo instead of Caicedo- seemed under whelming but worked out better.

Have a look at their chances and how they ruined them. If they are lacking in finishing start on the bench !!!
