he was jus so unique in the arkhamverse. he didnt just seem like a comical villain. but somebody who had a real reason in his mind for the murders on big holidays that he never said. i wish they fleshed bro out more

It’s funny cause for some of the other characters like professor pyg and Deacon black fire it’s like oh this is convenient that these things are also taking place tonight with everything else but with calendar man Halloween would be exactly the night he’s doing his shenanigans so it makes perfect sense

I really like his ominous, creepy and brief presentations in each game.

Has anyone done a video on Great White Shark? That's the most shadowy character that is present but never seen throughout every game except Origins. Which makes sense since his story starts with being admitted to Arkham and they start sending everyone to Arkham after the Blackgate riot. But he has his profile Easter Egg in Asylum. A building in Amusment Mile that says W. White in Arkham City. And the same Easter Egg that you find in Asylum is in the evidence room of the GCPD in Knight like he was a villain that you defeated. He's clearly someone they wanted to adapt but for some reason just never did. Another character that absolutely should've made an appearance in Arkham Origins was The Vantriloquist. Why they never put him in was a giant misstep since he is so present throughout the series. On the lower end of complaints, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb should've been twin henchmen with Mad Hatter in Origins. So many things they set up to go nowhere in the Arkham franchise. They are probably the most guilty out of every game franchise for wasting potential.

Man how was WB Montreal “borderline ripping off” Arkham City, they were specifically tasked with making a prequel, which they did a pretty good job with

Devil may Cry 3 was a prequel to the first 2 games and they innovated on the gameplay. Look I like origins more than asylum & knight but it could’ve done new things to make it stand out. Also it makes no sense that Batman has all these gadgets but in asylum he just has a batarang

Double Fun fact: calendar man made his first movie appearance in the Lego Batman movie in 2017.They even made a Lego set based off the film with calendar man in it. I’m proud to say I own a calendar man mini fig. DOUBLE FUN FACT: kite man was in that same set too! so I own Lego kit man too!

The only thing remotely interesting about calendar. Man in the series is his creep factor, and the fact that he coincidentally was “their Batman’s beginning, and they are at his end” in terms of our perception as the player (he was present in the gate riot and then he was at Wayne Manor when Bruce faked his death. But that wasn’t even by his own doing, that was by pure coincidence. In universe both times he just happened to be there. If there wasn’t some grand conspiracy with man, pulling the strings.

Since two games take place on a holiday it's a shame, he wasn't at least a side quest villain. I thought Origins would have been the best time to use him. Since Joker breaks him out of black gate at the beginning of the game.

I just wish they went all in on his creep factor and made him show up on multiple occasions during Arkham without giving him a dedicated side mission. To just imply that he is doing crimes similar to the ones he described in Arkham city is what made him so good so I would’ve loved to see him be present during the story of Arkham knight and see traces of his plan to ultimately kill Batman in Halloween just to witness the knight fall protocol and see his reaction to it as all his planning was for nothing

I remember "Riddler, secrets in the dark" actually does a lot of Calendar man, exactly why he is how he is in worshipping the Calendar, it's pretty interesting. But once again, we never see him in action, it is more his personality and ideology that is captivating about him.

I think a big problem with the Arkham games is each takes place in the course of one night. Asylum is a pass because of the basic plot and even Origins to a degree. But City and especially Knight could of benefited from those events spanning a couple weeks or even months. The Calendar Man, Azrael and Hush set ups in City were established amazingly, only to have no pay off in Knight and be extremely half-assed.

I think all the Arkham games, minus Asylum, suffer from shorter by AAA standards stories that take place on one night. Making the games very plot-driven and leaving little room for fleshed out characterization. For Asylum, I think it works as a novel idea of this long, hellish and trippy night for Batman where he has make his way out of the local nuthouse through his cortiary of villains. For the rest, Origins included imo, it undermines the potential to have proper character arcs and have the events feel grandiose, spanning weeks or months, as you said. The Insomniac Spider-Man games module is how they should've handled the time span imo.

I believe that it was because Paul Dini left. After all, that would be the mind behind the first two games.

I find it funny imagining that with everything else going on in these games, he thought anything he would do would go unnoticed. So he just didn't bother. It makes a weird sort of sense. Seeing as he was around at Batman's beginning, the influx of new super-criminals from Origins onwards would certainly overshadow him to an extent. We can only hope some were at least considerate of him. I'm thinking mainly the Joker. "Ey Boss, it's April Fools Day. Wanna go out and murder some fools?" "No no, I'll let Julian have this one."

I’ll give them a break for Arkham origins seeing as it is very possible man could’ve been a last second inclusion as an Easter Easter egg near the beginning (although I think you could make an argument, he could’ve at least been used for one of the crime scene recreations as he quickly commit a murder with a holiday theme. Make it clear that he rushed since it was almost Christmas morning already, but then once you track him down, you take him down like any other henchman.) I think they definitely should’ve used him in cold, cold heart. Instead of just having more anarchy followers, what if calendar man had radicalized the remaining people from that movement so that they would assist him in his plan. Of course, calendar man wouldn’t really give a crap about their movement, he just wants more manpower to set up his ultimate new year plan. As for Arkham Knight, I’m sure they could’ve found a way to squeeze him in

They honestly should've replace the Enigma side mission with Calendar Man in Arkham Origins, that would've been way better. They also should've replace the Wonderland side mission with Calendar Man in the Season of Infamy DLC in Arkham Knight with one last side mission.

He could have been the serial killer of The Batman instead of Enigma and would have worked.

Blame Rocksteady for not bringing back Paul Dini for Arkham Knight. That’s why Calendar Man, Hush, and Azrael all have extremely disappointing conslusions to their quests in Arkham City.

I can get that Knight was a bloated game with tons of side missions (although your idea of combining the Firefly and Fire fighters missions together is infinitely better than what we got), but we did have a lot of plotlines with the deadlines and schedules of the gaming industry to contend with. We had Two-Face, Penquin, Firefly, Blackfire, Hush, Azrael, Riddler, Man-Bat, Pyg, Mr Freeze, and Deathstroke. Considering how bad almost of those ended up, Calender Man probably would've went out like a chump too. And honestly, outside of Blackfire, all those guys deserved more focus to rework than Calender Man. Hell, we even missed bigger names like Bane, Anarky, Clayface, and Deadshot. Mad Hatter and Killer Croc were left for dlc. Knight honestly is understandable to leave him out. ORIGINS ON THE OTHER HAND HAS NO EXCUSE! Sure, we get Deadshot, Anarky, Riddler and Black Mask as side missions. But the rest? All of them are super generic and at most just fill in the stories of Barbara and Gordon. There absolutely could've been a mission for Calender Man. Hell, BYRD GOT A SIDE MISSION! WHO EVEN REMEMBERS HIM!?

I 100% agree he should've been in Arkham origins as a side mission, like why not at least with the prisoner side mission at the end of the game? Supposedly in Arkham origins once he escapes blackgate he kills the judge that ruled him for execution.

I just came up with an idea for how he could have been included in Knight. Keep in mind, I am at 11:49 so IDK if Game Den said it or not but in case not: Keep Calendar Man as an Easter Egg in a similar vein to City. Have it so he got caught by the GCPD almost immediately after the riots broke out. When approaching his cell he’ll give his vague cryptic lines but when visiting him on certain holidays (by setting your system clock to those days) he’ll tell Batman some stories. However where these stories differ from City is that they are stories of Batman beating various members of his Rogues Gallery on those days. One could be about Joker on Christmas, Ivy on Valentines Day, although he’d admit Scarecrow on Halloween would be too easy and talk about someone else. Also I’d love one of the stories to be about some D-list villain like Condiment King or Penny Plunderer. I’d be fun to reference Batman’s more obscure rogues. I also think this approach would be really cool as it would give us a chance to reflect on Batman’s career on his last night. His story would then have two endings. If you don’t speak to him on all the days, he’ll stay put. However, if you have listened to all of them before Scarecrow’s assault on the GCPD then Julian will escape during the chaos. He’ll then be present in the Knightfall cutscene.
