Nah man. Injection moulding is expensive. Tooling the moulds are expensive. All painted figures, not just coloured plastic like the budget lines. Excellent engineering. Legends are overpriced considering how large the production runs are, but mezco are more like boutique figures that have low runs, soft goods (cloth clothing), along with mafex they offer multiple hands, heads and other accessories and stands that come with the figures. Also they aren't produced in China with cheap labour like Hasbro and McFarlane use. Mezcos are made in America and mafex are produced in Japan where the labourers are paid a fair wage and the product is made to a far superior quality. The profit margins are high, but your comment is entirely inaccurate.

In defense of Mafex and S.H. Figurearts, they do have very impressive sculpt, paint, and articulation. Also they are imports from Japan, so that also factors into the price. Hasbro's figures are 100% overpriced though.

I ain’t even hating. But Mafex brand is wayyy better than the toybiz figures. Articulation is very impressive, accessories are amazing, and overall the suits are really good.

nah man I want cheaper toys too but you gave HORRIBLE arguments. Literally terrible arguments against price hikes. Not even gonna talk about inflation because that has affected every industry. Firstly, I know people who work in retail who have already debunked your first argument of adult collectors buying everything. You're dead wrong. Kids are still the major target audience and consumers in the toy industry. Only high end figures, mainly from import brands are having major adult consumers. Based on what salesmen in retail have told me in the communities I engage in, kids still are the main consumers of these toys so yes companies may have recognized adult audiences to be growing as consumers but they are nowhere near half the amount of consumers as compared to kids. You said Mafex is the same as Toybiz, you have to purposely be trolling to get a reaction out of people to make that statement because they are nowhere close to being the same. Horrible take in every possible angle. Hasbro is an American company and yes they could have increased prices a little but they are overdoing it and people hate on them which I agree because its almost the cost of an import, Lastly, import figures like Mafex have a lot of work done on them from the high quality sculpts to articulation and accessories so very poor comparison there. If you knew even a little about 3d modelling you would know how much work goes into making these things. Whole video seems like a troll and a random rant with no facts. Reason I wrote so much is because it just pisses me off when people spread misinformation and biased information while at it.

2:36. Ironically, before that they released an updated version of Carnage, which I have. In it, instead of prints, all the veins were made by a sculpture. But they put the old version in the sets, which is cheaper in production, but looks worse.

Do you even have a Mafex figure, My friend has the recent Comic Spidey and the Symbiote Spidey, and he let me play around with them, and they are more articulated than almost every Toybiz figure ever made

@@xviicii Toybiz focused more on articulation rather than sculpt, just look at their female figures, especially ones like Elektra, Black Cat and Rogue, and 99% of the time it doesn't look good Mafex focuses on both sculpt and articulation, and they work really well, just look at all the Spideys they made (except the 2 TASM ones as those are rather outdated and don't look that great nowadays)

@@supermanandbatmanishere yes i understand that, but figures like sh figuarts are imports (from Japan i believe) and there are some cheaper sh figuarts that aren't 80+ dollars if you want to buy it cheaper sh figuarts go for 34.99 to 45+ and yes that is still expensive its not 80+ dollars or more, for a sh figuarts and i haven't bought a sh figuarts for over 80 dollars yet thats why i buy the (Somewhat) cheaper ones for 34.99 to 45+ dollars for sh figuarts i believe the figures go cheaper in stores instead of online. and sh figuarts also have better sculpts better paint like mafex as well thats why they are expensive like that.

Comparing old Toy Biz figures to Mafex is actually insane. You could've done at least like 10 mins of research instead of just looking at the prices of things and calling it a day. There are many factors to be considered, especially since the figures are all the way from Japan. Even with the pictures shown, it's pretty easy to tell why they cost the way they do. Also, Big Bad Toy Store has shitty prices anyway, you can get Mafex and SHFiguarts for way cheaper with other means. The Hasbro prices are the only good point made.

Kids DO still play with toys. If you give them the option of sitting in front of a screen all day, they’ll choose that option. But kids don’t get to choose what they do all day so that’s on the parents.

1:23 in all fairness marvel isn’t making the toys. The people who are making the figures also have to pay for the license to make the toys. That’s why marvel legends costs $27 while GI Joe and Transformers give you more for the same price. But besides that yeah everything should be like $8 cheaper taking inflation and licensing into account.

Thumbnail is an action figure made by "Medicom *Toy"* I call them action figures but they are still a toy.

Mafex and sh figuarts have always been pretty pricey but its because they are actually very well sculpted and painted. They also have great articulation and tons of accessories plus they are imports

I kinda agree with you on hasbro but just because the quality of their figures is shit most of the time. $25 isn't a bad price if they just put more effort into their figures. As for mafex and shf, they're collectors items and the price matches up with the quality (besides the qc issues but i haven't had any problems with that)

Ali-Express bootlegs have been my official action figures plug for a solid 2 year's now, and I'm never going back The quality is insanely good for a $15-30 action figure which Is around $100 cheaper than the originals

I think shf, Mafex, and more are expensive but are really great quality but it has come to me toys are getting to be higher and higher prices so I agree with you man, adults want there childhood back

They make kids versions but the most you will see our things for adult collectors because there are kids versions of action figures that you can get for like five bucks

In all fairness, MAFEX, SH Figuarts and Figma offer much with about 80-100$ price because they have TONS of accessories, impressive sculpt and insanely articulated, and I want to mention the fact that I saw a shirtless Gojo statue figure (that ISN'T articulated with barely any accessories) for 500$ online. I don't much about Figma (because I'm a Marvel collector), but I'm sure they are cooking with their Demon Slayer figures. About Hasbro; The GI Joe figures are either perfectly priced or underpriced as they are amazingly sculpted with mindblowingly good animal figures for only about 20-30$. I'd say the Black Series Star Wars is kind of overpriced, you are paying about 20$ for decent articulation with a few accessories (looking at you, 50$ Dark Revan with poor *ss articulation with only 2 accessories). Marvel Legends is a little conflicted, they are overpriced with charging a full 20$ for no effort-placed figures such as Darwin (Bonebreaker Wave) & Cannonball (Wendigo Wave?), but they also charge only 20$ for spectacular figures such as Doctor Doom (Super Skrull Wave) or Beast (Retro), so Marvel Legends is kind of in the middle of perfectly priced and overpriced. I swear, the fact bro stated that MAFEX & Toybiz are the same quality is wild 💀 You just provided proof that you are not a figure collector, talking sh*t about figures. Have you touched a MAFEX before? I'm not saying Toybiz has a bad quality, I'm saying that their quality is too outdated to be considered on par with MAFEX.

As a Lego collector I completely agree. People snatch a shit load of the figures then hike the price up online cause they know people will pay it. It especially sucks cause I’m someone who still loves just to play with my toys and put them up in a shelf to look nice. And I just want toys from my childhood cause they comfort me and make me happy. But these other desperate collector’s have just ruined the value you of the toys. Theirs this one lego Castle set I use to love playing with as a kid and it was only 19.99 which for the set was good value for legos. Hasbro, way overpriced. But, costs have gone up in general due to two factors: inflation and oil prices.

I collect mafex. Shf. High end collector stuff. If you know what youre getting into. With the technical engineering going on with overseas products along with build and paint quality.

Jada makes good figures but mafex is worth 2-3x as much (which is what they cost before import costs). The riddler is a bad example because mafex actually keeps prices for their higher quality figures down by also selling figures that come with less stuff for the same price. For instance magneto and gambit cost the same as hush joker despite coming with a lot more stuff. Either way mafex figures are insanely high quality and overall better than jada. You can argue about value for money but the quality is undoubtedly higher.

FAX dont get me wrong the figures are good but at the end of they day THERE TOYs they have no reason for them to be that high. they should only cost 10-75$ MAX no reason for anyone to price a fig for 100+ dollars. yes good plastic but its 1 action fig they takes up less plastic then a lego set with 100 bricks, but cost the same??. not only that the market for action figures is low so not much people even want action figures anymore. if you by a fig for over 80$ just for you to pose the thing for the next 5yrs then your getting scammed
