the my sims ds series was my childhood😭 i usually replay them once a year and they honestly still hold up; the soundtracks are so good, and i still listen to them occasionally

The original game has more of a Sims-spin to it for sure. It's like a Sims/AC crossover that they honestly should have tried to push more.

Fun fact: I stayed home from school the days Mysims, Kingdom, and Agents came out (5th grade, 6th, and 7th, which was harder cuz I lived across the street from my middle school and was so excited I ran outside to get it from my stepdad who'd picked up my preorder 🤫)

I love how you have beef with just about every character, and the only one you openly vibed with is Dr. F, a character with such a loose grip on reality that they should probably be institutionalized

I don't blame you for how you felt about the DS versions lmao. MySims Kingdom was a lot more charming in the Wii version I found, personally. Though the first game on Wii was a uh, experience. I found it basically made my Wii sound like it was dying horribly and screaming for mercy and it was basically a chore simulator, but was far more enjoyable when I made the silliest and inappropriate objects for tasks. xD

@@prudencesofty Definitively play the first MySims on PC! You avoid the Wii loading screens and remote wiggling which there is a LOT of, and it comes with more content and characters that are in the later games.

Honestly i liked MySims and MySims Kingdom more than any of the original sims games. I sometimes still revisit the game for the nostalgia and it's so fun.

Watching you play my sims unlocked a whole truck full of very specifically pleasant memories

warms my heart whenever a mysims video pops up in my recommendations, every game including the ds variants are dear to my childhood (even skyheroes and camera)

My parents got my MySims Kingdom for me as my second Nintendo DS Game. I wanted Animal Crossing so badly but they thought I was not old enough. Sadly I have lost that MySims game very fast and never found it again. I wished for the Wii version, thinking it would be the same but it wasn't. I few years ago I bought all of them and played them, still love it.

The wii and ds versions of my sims being so different always made me wonder what the other ds versions were like! Glad to have a video showing it

As a kid I owned MySims, MySims Agents, and MySims Party. Despite MySims Party being objectively the least story driven of the games, I always found myself playing that one the most. I’ve always loved character creator games and also the mini games made it fun to play with my brother. Also it has Gothboy and Violet in the same game, so, overall win. I have good memories of MySims overall, though it’s really just a nice pleasant little game. And MySims Agents, well… I still haven’t finished it. I’m still stuck on the level where you have to stalk the bad guy. It’s fun though, and I distinctly remember having a thing for Tim and Abel when I was young. The MySims games have a lovely place in my childhood, and I even bought the pc game recently, which is nice, but not nearly as character driven as the ds games which is a little sad for me. But I still kinda love the franchise for its cozy little atmosphere and silly characters.

i feel like party wouldve been the one i wouldve played most as a kid too!!! tbh that bit on agents where u stalk thief guy is well hard, i was suprised when i actually did it?? yeah they are nice lil games tho especially the first 2!! surprised that the pc version didnt live up to the ds version tho thats sad was hoping it wouldve been even better :(

But the characters feel really barebones compared to the ds games, which I guess makes sense because the pc game is more of a cozy little furniture building game instead of a story driven game like the ds games. Still tho I love this franchise a lot. Fantastic video though, I’m glad you checked out this silly little franchise!

@@toxiccrybaby The characters in the original didn't even have dialogue early in development, from what I've seen, the ability to talk to people was a relatively late addition. So that's probably why.

I got stuck on the rock part on mysims agents for YEARS i thought you just couldn't leave the first two areas 😭

nlg i had mysims and mysims kingdom on ds growing up and though i played the shit out of both of them i never liked them all that much- EXCEPT i distinctly remember fucking loving the casino games in the first one. seriously, i have so many memories playing the blackjack one into all hours of the night, it was ridiculous. i kinda did the same thing with the casino games in mario 64 ds, think i had a gambling problem as a kid, lol. ironically, things like tower unite's virtual poker or blackjack just don't really appeal to me the same way as these weird, simplified ds versions did

My first Sims game at all whatsoever was MySims + MySims Racing for the Wii MySims was like my favorite thing ever I played it literally every moment of free time I had, it was so fun I loved all the characters, and Patrick was my best friend Everyone in the town always felt like they were like me (in retrospect, because all of them feel at least a tiny bit neurodivergent) and they were all so fun to hang out with and give gifts and do tasks for (and the game allowing me to wear girl clothes as a boy character helped contribute to me experimenting with gender, which ultimately led to me realizing I was nonbinary) Also this video was very enlightening because it made me realize that the Wii version of the game and the DS version of the game are actually very different, with different mechanics, characters, plot lines, and everything Like this isn't a port of the Wii game this is just a whole different game

The original My Sims ruled my childhood u til my friend introduced me to Animal Crossing then nothing else has mattered since

I still unironically love MySims on PC! It's a great relaxing game, sort of like Animal Crossing with more creative input but less dialogue, and without the godawful Wii controls. I was really hoping EA would give it another shot when New Horizon blew up, but oh well. The DS versions come across as deranged fever dreams compared to the Wii/PC ones. 😂 Clearly someone put all of half an effort into making these. There's some strong "we have MySims at home" energy here

I had MySims Kingdom for the DS as a kid. I enjoyed it, but obviously not enough to justify buying the rest of them. It was quite a surprise when I looked up a video years later to sort of revisit it without access to my DS, and found out that MySims Kingdom Wii was an entirely different game

I think it's crazy how each of these games were different on the ds and the wii! I only had my sims on the ds, I had all but the flying one on the wii. I don't remember much of the ds one because 7 yo me lost it. But I played MySims, Kingdom, and Agents all the way through and loved them! Agents was my absolute favorite and it should've gotten it's sequel!! But I never realized that the games are like completely different between the ds and wii! They have the same names but different (but similar) stories between them and I find that really fascinating! It makes sense thinking about it now because the ds can't handle the entire game the wii had, but again, still just fascinating that they are like different games!

I forgot all of these!! My little sibling had one of these for the Wii. I don't think we thought of them as Sims game in anything but name, but as a simple cute adventure game. I didn't play them myself, though.

"Bloody Poo...wait no" made me laugh way too hard

While my first sims game was the gba version of sims bustin out, I really enjoyed the laidback pace of mysims. (Especially with needs being optional, because I really didn't like the red icon constantly reminding me to eat while doing a story quest.) Imo the ds version of agents is still the best in terms of story and customization options. (ds kingdom's synth-o-tron does NOT let you pick an object you haven't made and most of the time, manual will just give you a bulk of one item before getting that last item...) And despite the ds mysims franchise having its own characters, I still thinks its cute that some are mentioned in the wii games and acquantied with some of the popular characters. (But, I'm still not of fan of Tim's look in the wii version of agents lol) Mysims has a bit of the charm from the previous story driven games (bustin out, urbz, and the sims 2 gba/ds), before sims 4 decided to dump all their ideas into nothing but dlc. And while I was late to the mysims craze, I grew to appreciate the amount of effort that was put into these characters after replaying agents, kingdoms, and getting a used copy of mysims during this summer.

This was such a nice trip down memory lane... Love this series. Genuinely sad it didn't last long.

omg i love it a paragraph summary for each game !!! yeah the mysims townsfolk i guess they were cliquey or smth. there was really no need to make anyone kayak in this day and age a punishment from the dark ages tbh!! i know how dare they not have red hair option, yeah party was very boring ngl, also i think you needed a stylus to do most of the minigames and i was using my laptop so... oh there was red hair for poo but im so sorry i just couldnt say no to that purple pompadour it was all too tempting. NO WAY! This has been playing on my mind i am starting to think calling them bunches may perhaps just be a me and my family thing??? i dont think ive said bunches out loud to anyone ever in my life tbh. mysims Racing will never be ar glorious mario kart ds !! your propa prudence pun award its on its way, the courier is evri tho so you may have to be patient!! I loooooooooooooved MySims and MySims Kingdom on DS but I knew I wouldn't like the rest of the MySims DS games so I didn't even bother trying to get them. But listen to me.......... Mysims Kingdom and MySims Agents on the Wii............... extremely EXTREMELY underrated games........................ please try them...................... in my top 5 Wii games for sure. If they adapted the Wii versions (or DS versions) of them for the Switch (they never will) I would play them all the time.

I went to GameStop as a kid and was looking for the sims, the sims 3 for the Wii but all they had was my sims, I didn’t know the difference, so I asked the worker and he tried to push me towards the animal crossing game instead and I went uhhh no I want the sims. Went home and hated it 😂 it bored me so much …

I loved and still adore the mysims series. Mysims ds was my favorite until I got a wii and got mysims kingdom with it. Mysims kingdom ds I didn't like because the mini games irritated me. I got that in high school 😅. I'm in the USA and gamestop had a UK version. I've never played mysims agents on ds but I liked the wii version. I don't care for mysims wii though.

I always thought the ds my sims game were mid compared to the console versions. I was disappointed when i had gotten the ds version of my sims and my sims agents as a kid because they were nothing like the wii game both story and gameplay wise, and so i found them to be incredibly boring.

I never found any of the other mysims interesting, i started with mysims agents and thats as far as it went as the others seemed to lack quality, i did enjoy the progressiveness of the game to be honest, and the characters where cute too, almost like an animal crossing/sims cross over lol

My sims kingdom ds was one of my very first games period. God i hated that kyak mini game
