The very first patch fundamentally changed the player experience by increasing enemy aggression, accuracy and composition. The first few weeks were fantastic and every week after that patch felt like we were getting further and further from that initial experience that hooked so many of us. After a while you just get tired of chasing something you know you'll never reach. The game just got worse and worse and it's so repetitive that once you see its trajectory you realize there's no real reason to play any more.

For the life of me I cannot understand why a group of developers would nerf fun out of a game when that is what brought players to the game in the first place. A game like this should be a fantasy world that the players can put time into and succeed with the learning curve to become elite in some fashion to make the game fun and fulfilling to play. I know there are players out there that can solo helldive but they are few in numbers. Double the magazine sizes on primary weapons and give us some armor that will take a few hits rather than getting one shotted.

  • @RealAsianRobot

    @RealAsianRobot

    27 күн бұрын

I agree fully. The players clearing 9 solo do not matter. Successful games always cater to the 95% and not the 5%. I go as far as to even recommend the devs constantly screw that 5% because they will never leave and even if they do, the losses are acceptable. The problem is the 5% are the fanboys and say what the devs want to hear. The 95% are the silent majority that just quietly leaves without a word.

@@RealAsianRobot I disagree with most of your comment. I am one of the 5% that you say doesn't matter. I soloed Helldive, and all the other difficulties. Often I had no choice. The game breaking disconnections and crashes still leave me playing missions solo. If I am 30 minutes into a mission when my squad drops dead and disconnects to leave me finish. Why would I throw away my efforts if I can usually squeeze out a win despite the odds being stacked heavily against me. I have platinumed the game and I still play. I am also a player who has talked many of my friends and family into buying the game so they can play with me. They consider me an "elite" player. So of course they looked forward to having me fight by their side. They even liked the game enough to buy super citizen bundles and warbonds. Helldivers had almost no marketing done. So they almost completely relied on social media and word of mouth to sell the game. Which proves that in many ways. Marketing as we are most familiar, is dead. So yes, players like myself do matter. We are the ones who are still logging in. The majority of casual players like my cousins have quit permanently. They claim the nerfs, the grenade glitch getting fixed, and the absurd enemy spawns and patrols made the game no fun. It's a PVE game so many of the glitches in the game just enhanced fun and personally. I didn't care if anyone used them. As long as they didn't use it to grief other teammates. We have better guns in real life than we get in the game with larger magazines than a futuristic shooter where we are fighting automatons and massive bugs!? Why a 30 round magazine? Why a 6 shot revolver? Why do we reload so much? Why do enemies have unlimited rockets, and ammunition with their weapons? Why are the mechs so bad? Why can't they reload or have unlimited ammo? They promised overpowered weapons on the jewel case. It's false advertising. No, I am not a fan boy as one of the 5%. If the game choices were in my hands. Helldivers would still be the most played game in 2024. I would give us overpowered weapons and stratgems. I would give us more ammo or more energy weapons with unlimited ammo potential. I would give us a heavy energy based plasma machine gun and laser machinegun. With punch through potential and at least 300 round belts. I would make rifles and other weapons have realistic ranges and bullet drops. I have never met anyone who thinks my awesome ideas are good. My changes would be based on helldive difficulties and soloing content. Fixing stability issues, upgrading servers and migrating helldivers to a more modern engine to make patching, updates, and adding content more efficient. So no, I don't kiss ass. I don't say things people want to hear or what devs have boners for. Like nerfing everything into the ground. Halving magazine spares and removing shrapnel from the Eruptor, or reducing the explosion radius of the air burst launcher. I would make the rail gun make sense too. As a railgun fan from MGS series. It's my firm belief that if a gun can explode and kill you. The risk should be worth being able to one shot anything in the game. Provided you shoot it in it's weak spot. I would also expect accurate marksman ship to reward a player with it. Such as allowing a player to kill 30 robots lined up in a row with a headshot. 😂

Helldiver’s developers and community team have showed nothing but contempt and disdain for the player base. They don’t test properly at all, and seem to be upset about competent players crushing their content - hence the incessant nerfs. Warbonds are weak. No new factions. The Erupter nerf and unwillingness to reverse it sums up the entire problem.

Remember when everyone on earth flamed elon musks build? Furthermore, try playing elden ring without summoning. It turns into the biggest slog and loses most the fun the previous games had in dueling your opponent. Lol, you acting like its not an even worse problem in elden ring shows that you probably use the meta there too.

Poor game balance, fighting the same 2 factions, the constant nerfing of the player in every single way possible, the memory of what HD2 was like for the first 3-4 days after I bought it Before the first nerf patch. The fact that the devs have been very aggressive and hostile towards their paying customers, their players, the fact that the CEO only waited until the population died before he actually acted and even then the big patch, the patch that they forced us to wait with broken equipment and mechanics for almost a month and a half only for it to come out and be yet another middling "balance" patch with all the same nerfs but some good buffs but not enough. Then in that same patch for them to break so many other things and leave them in place for yet another week while we waited for yet another minor patch to fix what they broke. It became obvious to me that they did literally no testing, balance or bug fixes, they never test anything. Hell half of the warbonds were already in the game and they worked but when they released them they were somehow worse, look at the Polar warbond, they didn't even fix the Tenderizer before it was released, that right there is the best example of how Arrowhead does a game. I haven't left it yet but I barely play it like once per week, I can't be bothered to play something that is just wasting my time when I could be playing other games made by clearly more caring and competent developers who actually WANT people to have fun. How to improve it? Yeah just revert the nerfs, period, BUFF things and don't buff them like they gave the Liberator Pen. full auto, like that totally fixed that POS. No we need meaningful buffs to the player unless the devs plan on nerfing the bots and bugs, reverting the patrols from the very first patch, reverting the spawning in enemies, reverting the bots ability to snipe you from a continent away while under smoke or fog cover. Make options FUN rather than creating a constant meta with your constant meddling with weapon and stratagem balance.

I hope they revert their changes properly and actually get good community managers who can speak well and hear out the people. Till then, I'll be working on "The First Descendant". With all the bs (nerfs, bugs and lame weapons) its just not as fun anymore. I still jump on to help contribute to the MO, but even then I get deterred at these 5-7 day MO’s. I have come to accept that this game will never be what it was in the early days (like the MCU), but I am happy I got to experience some of the best gaming times of my gaming days (I’m 39). If we coud get some bug fixes, better weapons, reverted nerfs, new mission types, new enemy types (not even counting the illuminate), somthing to spend req slips and samples on for maxed out players, new stratagems, then I’d be back on consistently. Until then I’m an intermittent diver.

Teams of 2 to 4 trying LVL 4 to 9 forget it due to the patrol respawn rates. I find it is killing the game as well. I got everything unlocked, closing in on 500 hours. But this game isn't fun in its current state. The Dev are killing the game slowly with bad decisions. Their discord isn't helping with mods on power trips over there. They need to restore the game back to the release version and go from there. I still like the game and hope it will improve. But they really need to do something. Didn't they undo the nuff to some of the weapons?

These things didn't happen nearly as much when the game started. Why do they make changes that have negative effects, then wait forever to fix them? They acted fast on the bug breaches spawning in the drills, but that's another example of their picking and choosing. Probably because the mission was a limited time one, they think it is fine to leave the bugs and glitches in the regular modes because they have more time to work on them. We'll, their time is running out. Not to mention the horrible people they have running their socials, because for a while you HAD to go to discord to see any of the important information like supply chains.

Arrowhead really made a graveyard out of the weapons, and the "buffs" only seemed to zombify them rather than bring them back to life. The first Helldivers was in 2D and everyone was forced onto the same screen. This meant that teamwork was essentially forced upon you and compensated for the lack of power of the weapons because there was always four of you close by. Now that the sequel has the same philosophy but players can wonder off on their own, is it not unsurprising that primary weapons feel underpowered?

When it comes to live-service video games, there have to be three things going on for me to play them continuously-a great core gameplay loop, the addition of meaningful progression, and constantly added content. Helldivers' gameplay loop stands out as a unique and enjoyable experience within the genre. This is a facet of the game that I personally find no fault with. However, the community's perception of the game's balance patches, which heavily focused on nerfs in the early months, led to a decline in the game's initial fun factor for many, even if I disagree with that mindset. Helldivers 2 has a lot of things to grind for, such as Ship Modules, Warbonds, and Stratagems, but every one of these has been heavily criticized and only sometimes feels worth the grind. For a long time, most of the Ship Modules were just not functional, and even when they have been functional, most of the upgrades feel so minor that they'll never show an actual difference in the middle of combat. Fans have criticized the Warbonds for having weapons that are underwhelmingly similar to other weapons people have already obtained, underpowered, or immediately nerfed within the next patch. We also haven't been getting new stratagems, and when we do get new ones added, they just aren't as fun as the community was hoping for. Unfortunately, Helldivers 2 has been lacking in terms of additional content. While we've seen the introduction of new planets and engaging 'lore events ', the regular battles for random planets in Major Orders often feel futile, as the progress made is often undone when the planet is taken over a week later. Helldivers is an amazing game to play with friends for game nights, but it's not a game that should be played every single day and is not worth grinding for.

Thank you very much for your comment. I read it all and I agree on many of the points you've made. Particularly, the nerfs have been too heavy and many weapons are simply underwhelming which is not good for a game with a large (and quite frankly) casual playerbase that just wants to deliver some democracy. It definitely feels like fun isn't being added and that's stopping players for sticking with the game long term. Hopefully they will learn a better path in a few months. Or they can choose to just accept a lower playerbase and work with that.

It really is very similar to Darktide. both games have a gameplay loop that absolutely carries them because it's so damn fun. However, both companies refused to listen to their fanbase in terms of progression and balance. I do think Arrowhead has now started down the right path, which was about a year earlier than Fat Shark. I left Darktide after the first 6 months of no progress and Helldivers 2 is nearly completely out of my game rotation.

Reasons I've actually stopped playing: 1) Long and boring MOs w/ Underwhelming Rewards: Almost everyone is capped out on Medals. Reward us with experimental weapons or provide buffs in liberation rates. Include new mission/enemy/biome types in every MO. Stop asking us to kill x billion enemies in 3 days or hold/defend 5 planets for 5 days 2) Weak Premium Warbonds: None of the primaries stand out as 'good' save for the Eruptor before it was nerfed. Weapon and rrmor perks that don't fit the 'theme of the warbond ex. Polar Patriots didn't have armor perks that gave players an advantage on Ice Planets nor did it have any cryo-based weapons. 3) Longer time between new content: Yes, this sounds counter intuitive, but if I got to wait 6 weeks for new content. Then I'm gonna get bored quick. 1 month is reasonable but its the fact that I there is no official road map for content and that patches will now take however long Arrowhead feels is necessary is just underwhelming for me when couple with the 'Boring MOs' issue. It feels like Arrowhead doesn't really care if people stick around so long as their 'vision' for the game is upheld. I'm sorry, but good live service games cater to their players, not the other way around. I understand that they don't have the resources like Blizzard or FromSoft, but they can do small weekly updates like they used to. The only reason those weekly updates weren't received well is because they were riddled with nerfs to weapons with the highest pick rates instead of buffs to the guns that rarely get picked.

Couldn't agree more bro...i have a bit over 400 hours on HD2 (98% solo) and typically run lvl 7's solo nowadays -the nerfs really hammered the game and make it too sweaty on 9 if you use different stuff other than your own personnal meta loadouts. I literally use the standard Lib or Adjudicator with the Eagle Air Strike, Orbital Precision, and AMR on bots and the Pummeler, (cause I am so so so SIIIICK of using the Breaker Incendiary) grenade pistol, Eagle Napalm, Orbital Precision, jump pack and EAT on bugs 99 out of 100 bug dives and I am bored to death. I do change it up and only take one Orbital, jump pack and run the Grenade Launcher (or flame thrower) and an EAT to call in when needed, but again, not being able to use every gun on the game whenever you're in that particular mood sucks. The game is repetetive anyway, so using a wide variety of loadouts is the only way to keep it kinda fresh. You CAN use other stuff but its just no fun to Helldive with a shit loadout thats not enjoyable. I do still dive 3 or 4 times thru the week (sometimes) and maybe run a few on the weekends, but I was dropping in for several hours EVERY day until the first patch that messed with the patrols. Thats when I dialed it back to 7 and stopped playing daily. I tried, but I just couldnt make myself play like that when the weapons were getting stepped on or just left shitty with no attempt to bring them up to par, the patrols were outta hand at times and just all the other garbage. At this point I'm not so sure if they shouldnt just reset the damn game back to 1.0 then add the new shit, QoL improvements, and leave ALL the changes they've made outta the game entirely. They gonna have to make ALL the guns good and fun to use and add ALOT of content and stop wasting time and effort tweaking the enemy behavior, spawn rates, patrols, health pools, the width of the bile puke and all that stupid shit. Hell, fix the damn guns and let us be overpowered for a bit while they tweak and test all those game and enemy changes behind the scenes...or dont, whatever. At this point they can let the game bleed out and die cause alot of us are just about over all the B.S.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your opinion. I hear you on a lot of the problems. The loadout variety is a serious issue and definitely a big gripe for many. Every weapon needs to feel strong in the divers hands and not "a situational teamwork pick" You literally can't even force teamwork in most situations so I can see why players get frustrated and leave. I hope they right the ship. I'll be on my new project with "The First Descendant" while I wait. Nexon made me an official creator so that should be a fun time and it's a free to play game (basically Korean Warframe).

These changes discouraged my friends, and they eventually stopped playing. Now, I’m the only one still playing regularly. It's disheartening because I want to recruit more friends and family to join me, but I live in a country where Sony has banned the game's sale. I haven't "quit" but that's more because my friend still plays and we like to just go in and do level 3 duo mission to mess around. When he doesn't get on I rarely play by myself (like an hour every few days) and mostly that is doing quick trivial runs to contribute to MO, or quickplay on lvl 3-5's in order to help out some new players and explain some of the mechanics of the game to them if they need it. I used to play hours at a time everyday now its hard to even just play 1 hour at a time every few days. My reasons are pretty much the same as everyone else has stated: A good chunk of the weapons and stratagems are basically unusable, lack of armor variety, armor buffs not making sense (polar patriot armor has nothing to do with helping on cold planets), limited viable booster choices, Weird enemy mechanics / buffs to enemies (watched an old video the other day and a hunter didn't one shot / take out 3/4ths of your health), Endless bugs, disingenuous studio (the way they balance the game directly contradicts statements made by the former CEO), their patches need patches to patch other patches and so on with the patches and hotfixes, and finally the studio made the unfortunate choice to make their game on a discontinued game engine meaning not only do they have to make a game they also have to maintain and upgrade a game engine which makes me fell like there will be no satisfying end to the bugs plaguing the game. Quick Edit: The reason why I feel it is highly unlikely for them to ever actually revert the changes is because of what I mentioned before: the game engine. Like I said before it is a discontinued engine so they have to mess with it themselves without any support from the engines developers. I have heard the code is basically in a similar state as TF2, which is to say spaghetti code, but I am not entirely sure of that. Either way, this is what makes me think they couldn't ever just "revert" the changes without royally messing up everything. I am also not sure if they use the version control technique since from my understanding they were / are an indie studio and they weren't expecting the game to get this big. You can follow this link www.gridly.com/blog/version-control-in-game-development/ to see more about what version control is (unless robot doesn't want comments with links in which case I am willing to edit the comment again and remove the link).

I think the Devs should have added stealth mode into some of the missions for both Terminids and Automatons were if you or your squad mate got detected by making too much noise or seen at close range distance; it would be a mission failure. On top of that they should have added "suppressor" as an unlockable at higher levels with medals for the AMR support weapon and some other primary weapon based rifles; therefore it would benefit the mission objective and the bonus XP you got from the mission. To go along with that they would give players acid gas/corrosive grenades as an unlockable with medals for taking down enemies silently.

In the last two weeks, I’ve jumped on at least 5 missions that were in a broken state. More players would just flood the lobby wondering why the mission isn’t progressing, then leave frustrated. One mission had to end in death. The other four could only progress once a new player joined the lobby due to bad z axis coordinates on the nursery drill. From og players in the lobby, they would describe my character as floating over thin air.

This is way too common and they seriously need to different modifiers. No energy weapons. Only energy weapons. No orbitals. No eagles. No support weapons. Or if they don't want to limit choices give the above buffs under certain planetary conditions. Giving everyone the free flamethrower or AC was fun. Right now objectives don t require that you play together, the best strat is to split up if you wanna clear the map, which makes the game not so fun especially with friends and doesn t make you feel like you re part of a soldier squad. - introduce new orbitals and eagles. They re are the main stratagems people use and yet not a single one has been added since launch, wich makes the experience a bit stale.

But I'd rather not believe him because of his still withstanding character and past cowardice on a certain sequel project. Calling for you to step down from your job isn't a witchhunt, your title and boasting as the lead balance guy it is natural we look at you, Alexus as the main culprit!

I think the biggest issue is we need a new enemy type, other than bots and bugs....drop vehicles in for a while too, then pull them out...more surprises.... need longer larger objectives, with milestones in place. Yes, major orders have been boring.

End game is essentially somewhat lackluster since there is nothing to do with the Samples after you finish the ship modules which ends up making it something of a play once every other day maybe for me at most. This is still 5-10x more players than Arrowhead was expecting to have as their base, and the last nerf had a lot of positive changes. Maybe we'll get some numbers back when the Illuminate come out, maybe not...the game has already been a big success, and if you don't want to stick around that's fine. Not every game has to be huge forever.

@@RealAsianRobot is there any other co-op third person shooter game that is currently retaining more players than HD2? Idk how many PvE games have managed to make the live-service model really last, and there was always going to be a drop off after the kind of peak it had. Whether that peak was going to be from 500k down to 100k or 50k or 20k if things had developed differently is not something we’ll ever know. Also, the issues with the released content indicate to me that the devs aren’t capable of putting out content any more/faster than they already are. (Technically, they aren’t really capable of putting it out as fast as they are now, since half the time the content doesn’t work upon release, lol.) So short of AH doubling their workforce overnight, I’m prepared to live with whatever we do get. If I ever have kids, obviously I’ll want them to be at the top of their class, but if it turns out they’re kind of dumb, then I’ll still love them, I’ll just have to live with it lol. I do my dailies to check in on the state of the game... and guess what? If you aren't using the Breaker Incendiary, Scorcher, or Sickle, you're going to have a bad time on any difficulty over 7. When the new jungle map dropped, my favorite heavy, the Spear, crashed my game a dozen times. So then I had to switch to MG despite there being way too many chargers in the current build. I'm also tired of huge mountains or rivers blocking objectives. With the broken flying/walking patrol spawn rates, being made to run all the way around a terrain obstacle means like 8 encounters on the way there. Give us stratagems that create bridges across rivers, or ladders to scale mountains. That would feel sick and strategic. The game is addictive and fun at its core. I would keep playing if I could experiment with different builds, or if there was more stuff to unlock. There are so few viable weapons, there just isn't much to do anymore. Give us armor colors as cosmetics to customize. Separate armor perks from armor sets, let us pick them before a mission just like our boosts. If they added underground levels where we go into bug hives and kill a queen, they could resell the exact same stratagems in "underground" variants, where the drop pods drill into the surface of the planet to get to you. That would add a bunch of new things to unlock. And until you unlocked each stratagem, you'd be trying to conserve supplies and use whatever you find inside the hole. Or maybe certain portions of the cavern could have holes in the ceiling, so there were limited locations where you could call in supplies! That would be dramatic. It would change the game's pacing, make it new and fresh. Flashlights would actually mean something underground. Fighting in the dark means bugs would be harder to spot, and they could add new types of bugs that can crawl on the ceiling and grab you so a teammate has to break you free, forcing some teamwork mechanics. I dunno. I'm just spitballing because I want to see Helldivers 2 succeed! We all do. I hope they pull it off. We want the Managed Democracy to last.

Helldivers is for that hardcore group of like 5000 players. It’s like the last CEO said the game is not for everyone or even most people for that matter. A game for everyone is a game for no one. It’s a game for a few. Oh and the nerfs. Every weapon I fell in love with is still nerfed to this day. Breaker shotgun smaller magazine, Quasar Cannon longer cooldown time, Pummeler stagger nerfed. Nuff said. I’m convinced this game is one big pysop to see how stubborn or conditioned players are if all fun and restraints are put in place much like mask mandates. How to fix….double magazine size on all weapons. Increase number of magazines, fix restraints to weapons that are now handcuffed.

I feel like it’s a bunch of things contributing to me not playing the game. The state of patches coming out bugged, and sometimes it felt like a big fix patch brought more bugs than before. I tried my best to power through, but the state of the galactic war just didn’t help. A succession of failed MOs because of the dwindling player count when the target numbers were set based on previous counts, and the inability for the player base to properly focus their efforts (not something Arrowhead can control I know, but they could do some things to assist which they eventually did like supply lines). Some MOs had interesting missions, but seeing the coordination they needed turned me off from wanting to play with random people. Following that the recent mediocre warbonds just pushed me further away. While I haven’t actually played in a while I’ve been watching your streams enough to feel up to date with the state of the game. When you covered the big patch my reaction at the end of it all was “cool, I’m just going to keep playing everything else”.

Because they cling to that "a game for everyone is a game for no one" like it's life or death. A game for no one is a game for no one, you need to make the game for some or no one will want to play. They are making a game for them only and using that quote as a shield when people say they don't like it. Dark souls worked using the "a game for everyone, is a game for no one" because lots of people liked the challenge for the type of game it was. Helldivers is taking a dive because too many people don't like the arbitrary challenges created for the type of game that it is. The last patch was a step in the right direction for me, but for them to fully take hold of my gaming attention again, more things to do other than the same repetitive missions need to exist and most weapons still feel crappy to use due to either ammo economy or power limitations.

In the latest patch they say "Fix for crash happening when players with unique hellpod patterns leave during hellpod launch cutscenes." which i was getting without having any hellpod patterns and still get, not at the same frequency but i still got crashes during helldiving also they introduced new crashes which i wasn't getting pre-patch, those crashes happen during the mission, especially at mission start when i deploy my support gear like Quasar Cannon and Shield Pack, i never got a crash during gameplay before the patch. The spawn rate is still horrible sometimes is ok but sometimes i feel like i'm playing "They are billions", 4 chargers at the same time or 3 Bile Titans and 4 chargers and a billion smaller enemies (i always play on suicide level of difficulty) and it feels like . I wish this game got better so i can enjoy it properly, i wish they would get their shit together and stop releasing Warbonds for at least half year and focus on creating a proper QA team and fix the freaking issues.oy it properly, i wish they would get their shit together and stop releasing Warbonds for at least half year and focus strictly on fixing bugs.

With big expansions to stuff like Elden Ring coming out, the release of XDefiant and in the future The First Descendant and Space Marine 2 people are just going to want to check out those games and that's perfectly ok. Arrowhead knew this would happen going into release and that's why they population-proofed the Liberation campaigns to scale inversely player populations. When we have 20-30K ppl online they are punching for the same weight as 100k+ ppl so honestly I'm not worried and will be back once the itch needs scratching again

Thanks for sharing your opinion. I've clocked close to 800 hours myself but I have a very different opinion right now. The game itself has fun concepts, but is fundamentally broken and in severe need of fixing. It needs to be balanced around Helldive (which was intended as a challenge) but honestly needs to be geared for the casual players. I've literally seen the idea that players will be back to "scratch the itch". But all that results in is barely one weekend of play while people focus on their main game holding their attention. Sure they adjusted the liberation system, but a comparatively low player count affects more than just the game. It affects future sales and also monetization for the game with players being less willing to spend on something that has no hype around it. Helldivers is awesome in it's own way, but as a live service (in my eyes). It has failed hard and I hope they understand and adjust for this.

When there were 100s of creators playing this game everyday, it was all anyone ever talked about. Now there's just a few and that's that. It is true that no game can be sustained indefinitely, but that's why I'm hoping that my other projects can keep going while I wait for this to revive. I still play. However, I play more efficiently. I also play Medium missions between Helldives for Super Credits, and still see many newer, low level players. I think most have hung up their capes for the following reasons: 1) Lack of mission types. There's only so many times you can Launch an ICBM, Evac people, or bring a purple box from point A to point B. 2) Too much focus on Terminids. We've had Termicide, Dark Fluid, and Hive Buster missions. Yet, nothing for Automatons, which makes fighting them unrewarding. 3) Aggravating Gamemaster dynamic. In the last several weeks, we've had nothing but defense and liberation missions. It's really frustrating to completely liberate a map, and then have the GM just decide to reset the map. It trivializes player effort. 4) Forced Meta. Despite their best efforts, players continue to use the same weapons and strategems they become familiar with and are most efficient. There are many exciting new combinations to try, for instance, the Peak Physique/Exploding Crossbow/HMG combo. However again, the Warbond focused on Terminids. Bring that over to Automatons, and it's a hard time. Also not every player is a 1%er.

The main issues are the stale loadouts, even after the new patch the meta didn't change enough to really change things up as far as primaries and secondaries, turrets, some eagles and orbitals got some great QoL, but it just wasn't enough. We waited so long for the major patch and warbond and it just kinda felt underwhelming across the board. Lots of good changes don't get me wrong, but it just felt like they weren't the changes we desperately needed, and it barely made any new loadouts/weapons truly viable in a fun way. The second issue is that there is no way for us to use capped currencies, I've been capped on every currency outside of super samples for ages, I had hoped there would be a currency dump of some sort implemented. Once you are capped on everything the only thing left driving you to play the game is enjoyment and fun, problem is they seem determined to wring both of those things out of the game with every change they make. The nerfs to weapons are always substantial and the buffs to weapons always seem to be inconsequential, slowly just making the game feel a bit more stale little by little. Hopefully the clan system if they get it out soon would give players capped on currencies a way to donate or use them in the process of leveling up and upgrading a clan base of some sort as a way to breathe some life back into diving for those that haven't had a purpose for diving in a while due to capped resources. Also, side note...please give us an alternative currency for Major Orders if we're capped on medals, it's hard to get motivated and put in hours and hours into grinding for the MO when the reward is always 0 medals, 50 super credits? No? 25? Heck, just something I'm not capped on so that I can motivate myself to help. :/ A lot of people myself included have been holding out hope for a long time, we put a lot of faith into the last major patch and it sadly didn't live up to what many were expecting even at the bare minimum to bring. From that day I tried out some new loadouts, played a bit, but it just feels like the hope is gone. They deprived us of nearly a month worth of patches to give us a super patch to fix everything, but it was...for lack of a better word disappointing, so now a lot of us that have been holding on for so long are fading away, the balance devs and those making the content don't share a vision for the game that a majority of players have, they don't have their fingers on the pulse of the playerbase and are content to just keep doing things their own way come what may. In short, meaningless buffs, severely impactful nerfs, plenty of bugs, no endgame/currency dump and a balance/dev team that seems to have a different vision of the game from a majority of helldivers themselves and an unwillingness to work with helldivers to reach a happy medium. I'll still play every few days when I get the itch, but it honestly does just kinda feel like we've been left out to dry and got told to either "git gud" or get lost. I hope that changes in the future, because this was one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I've had in over 20 years of gaming and it hurts to see it deteriorate to such a state. Hopefully see you planet-side fellow divers, kill bugs, spill oil. o7

What happened was they built a great community, engaged and made gamers feel heard on top of a fun game and destroyed ppls trust and had the no fun policy.... what a let down

I haven’t left, but after 350 hours I finally took a break because I’m maxed on absolutely everything, and just playing for playing’s sake has gotten a bit stale. I look forward to coming back as soon as there’s more to do/earn.

for me I'm doing a 100% walkthrough on Elden ring also once they make the game more for us, weapons more fun, things to unlock they just need to bless us more and less nerfs and underwhelming updates and WB. but i still hop on when there is new stuff to spend my creds on.

They need to give more options to spend medals and resources for things, even if they are cosmetic, or ship furniture. Once capped on these the only real thing to grind is SC, and on the lower difficulties to get the most for time (after playing mostly on levels 7-9), it just burns people out.

even if they bring in the illuminate, that doesnt mean more players as the illuminate are known for been the hardest faction i think and once the initial phase of a "new enemy" wears off its just more of the same with a different look at the end of the day, same with the new forest biome, its just another planet to run from point a to b and shoot stuff inbetween

Exactly as you stated, they've killed the fun. Gunship patrols are fine 90% of the time, but the times they aren't is debilitating and incredibly unfun. Re releasing the same AR with 7 variants is just lazy and they are all garbo. Viper commandos was just a stab to the gut... They said they were changing the focus to player fun and then give less weapons that are utter garbage AND skins for things nobody ever sees. Just want everyone wants is a skin for the pelican that shows up once a mission or hellpods that you immediately leave the vicinity off.

The game climaxed after we beat the automatons. People were putting in so many hours to push them back and beat them. And then…they just brought them back within like 24 hours. “Oh yeah they’re back they actually went to a new area” If our progress is meaningless then there’s no point of playing or working together on anything

Honestly they need to fix a couple of things, first all the bugs that happen such as the fling glitches, clipping through the map, disable patrols such as gunship patrols when there are gunship fabricators, or put a massive cd cause they are constanty spammed, special enemies within patrols need a nerf, and each patrol has the capability of calling in reinforcements, put a massive cd on that, also the same for those patrols that come from drop ships can call in more ships, too many enemies like that is bs, also we lack weapon variety, if they brought back all the weapons from helldivers 1 and added more weapons that served actual purpose and does meaningful damage the game would be fun, no customization variety or vanity when it comes to guns and armor, certain passives are stuck on certain armors, let us switch passives, customize our guns, add in armor upgrades, weapon upgrades, strategem upgrades and customization, vehicles, once they fix their maps add in vehicles, would be cool if we could call in the evac ship for air support, and have Eagle One patrol the sky to keep the air clear for a bit, stuff like that would make the game hella more fun.

Thanks robot sensei for speaking out🙏🙏 we could feel the Disappointment together.😔 Looking at the players drop let a men cry with no tears. Still doubt Devs really listening to what their players feedbacks or not. Is a PVE game and they nerfed ANYTHING, the FUN, the player base. and they took so long time to COOK a small "dish" which also a "dish" that sacrifice its player base. Sorry devs, for me, you are not listening , could not believe a company who don't take opportunity when their own product was successful. Yeah we could sound complaining but it seems you just don't care people who really support you

Before seeing what you said. I started playing Helldivers 2 weeks ago. I am lvl 13. But i can already see the repetitiveness. If i wouldn't play with my buddies, i would have stopped already. The game needs a bit more diversity. And the character progression needs a lot more depth. Give me Ammo types, Let me pimp and Upgrade my gun. Let me chose was resistances and armor type my armor has. Let me chose the Feature the armor got. Give me visual/audio upgrade with the helmet. Make the cape somewhat useful. Give me options for melee weapons. Give me more information about a planet (for a price) so that i can bring the perfect load out that suits my style. ship modules should be stronger but i should need to chose to bring one over another. I remember the first Bile Titan, it was awesome, but since then.... I wish there were more "Raid"-caliber Special Bugs, that need a different tactic each and every time. I think all of that might eventually come, but i believe it's coming out too slow and people get bored doing the same thing over and over again without any competitiveness.

I agree with that. They definitely lack in terms of progression and endgame, grinding repetitive games need growth or a reason to grind for. It's why I hope you and your friends will check out "The First Descendant". It's not just because I am an official content creator for that game, but it's because the devs themselves want players to have their power fantasy and they want players to truly enjoy the end game looter shooter grind 😁. That said, I hope Helldivers 2 will revive, but it might be a genuine waiting game
