Great read as usual, Taylor. I feel pile 2 describes me so vividly. It's good to be seen. Still struggling with the over giving; but learning to recognize the early warning signs that someone won't return nearly in kind; but I don't see that as people pleasing; rather simply not gauging my energy correctly all the time, because I'm quite authentic, I feel, in HOW and HOW MUCH I FEEL LIKE GIVING, and the INTENTION BEHIND THAT. I give from a place not to get; but recently, I've been saying to myself, "But, of course, you deserve the same level of energy. You deserve the same support. If not from THIS person; from SOMEONE.' Now I'm beginning to catch people early on; detaching, breaking off suddenly and doing my own thing. I'm no longer willing to give an explanation; but I balance the scales by taking the extended time I WOULD have spent with them and spending, either alone and enjoying myself, or with those who reciprocate almost equally in that regard. Doesn't need to be a tit for tat; but needs to FEEL like there isn't this huge deficit, like they are just a gaping black hole where, I spend so much time, energy, attention and encouragement, generating ideas, and extending emotional support - and since it's never returned, seems never enough, and guilt comes from not ALWAYS doing that for them, as if they were entitled to that amount of devotion. I took a long hard look at that guilt; and realized it was unwarranted. But rather, I've started to see the lengths that I go to, to support others; and that I'm simply deciding to spend all or a good majority of that on myself. Doesn't mean I don't still spend good quality time with people; but I see now who to extend certain parts of myself to, who not to, who is a total waste of all my resources, who even subtly pokes fun at my dreams, goals and ambitions; but always seems to require or gets so much encouragement from me, yet leaves me feeling drained, guilty, or confused and questioning both my motives and theirs. That last one is a classic sign that some manipulation is going on, perhaps very subtle, but almost ongoing. I'm seeing the disproportionate amount of time I've spent watching their videos or any of what they've created and are proud of, and then when I present my own stuff; and maybe I might even feel slightly awkward... how they HEIGHTEN that for me. How they step all over what is precious to me. How they make or try to make, or it's just the result that I feel as if I somehow overstepped my welcome, or that my stuff isn't as important and isn't as deserving of nearly that amount of time from them. I see how quickly they get bored about the topics that I want to talk about and seem to return it back to them and their own interests. I have MANY interests; so this happens less often with the people left in my life. I'm a Sheep in the Chinese Astrology. This reading was eerily accurate. Even after all the work I've done on myself. I'm also a Capricorn... so I have that good warrior and peacemaker vibe. I love. I can love fiercely with all my heart; but I know most cannot handle that intensity; so I take my time to gauge what they CAN handle; and then piece meal things out on a case by case basis. I do feel a huge destiny and that things COULD shift favorably for me; I just don't know if Spirit will decide that this lifetime is too soon for me to get what I feel I deserve. I'm not leaving it totally up to Spirit, though either. I play hard, work hard, and find time to relax and enjoy myself, and decompress. So, given the circumstances, I feel that I'm doing most of what I CAN do; and much is out of my control; and yet I've got practices in place to address that. Super aware of my emotional state, and that of others. I have a discipline of evaluating what the feeling or mix of feelings are, asking myself what caused it, trying to feel into it, and then refocus on something else once I've given it the time and attention it needs. This seems to work quite well. I still get angry. I still feel momentary bouts of bitterness or depression; but because I acknowledge it mentally, energetically, and emotionally, as well as physically, at times... I seem to have grown a language and methods to keep myself in a state mostly of equanimity, most of the time. I was diagnosed with Hypomania, which is a milder form of Bipolar; which means I have these swings between incredible energy and grandiosity, and then much lower levels of energy and insecurity and lack of confidence. But I feel I manage it pretty well. This year, I learned to avoid communicating online when there's a Solar Eclipse; because it hijacks my emotional state, dialing all my feeling and emotions and my urge to share and communicate up by like a factor of a 100X or so. So, I'm learning more about myself, what external and internal factors tend to trigger me, how to prepare for some of that; and when I can't avoid those times and still HAVE to be present somewhere in front of people, because let's face it, it's only because their are other people, that this is even considered a 'problem' - I have strategies for how to cope when shit hits the fan, and I temporarily seem to lose control of the situation. This doesn't seem to happen often; and it's a great lesson in surrender; but it can royally suck at times.
