@@sanjeen004Technically yes writer ma ni bharr parcha to get the best out of their characters. I feel like Nischal Basnet used him to his full potential with that gangster role in Loot series. That’s what made Dayahang famous too. On the other hand, Dayahang is too big of a superstar to go down and I feel like it’s time he starts experimenting 1 or 2 movies with different script and role. Saugat Malla, once did that same old stereotypical madhesi guy role and it started to get lame pretty quickly. Now i feel like he has rediscovered himself with the role in Agastya. I would expect no less from Dayahang as both are in the same class.

I am one of the staff of QFX cinemas and It's very true that most of the audience usually prefer to watch Hindi and English movies rather than Nepali movies.Due to lack of proper planning and marketing campaign in Nepali industry,most of the film doesn't get enough hype and can't reach to the targeted audience.Therefore,a high budget Hindi and English movie always attracts nepali audience which increases demand of the film.Nevertheless,Nepali movies should allocate enough budget on its marketing and produce a film on different concept rather than following same dramas which is continuing form last 3-4 decades.

I also think that qfx is biased towards hindi movies. Its business after all. But it should also be noted that if we encourage nepali movies, the qualities will get better eventually. This year i have watched many nepali movies. The quality is inconsistent but is improving. Nepali movies are really trying to level up. We need to encourage good nepali movies

Good video. I want to share some of my opinion. 1. QFX is a private venture, and they have the right to give how many or less screens to whomever they want to. After all, they are driven by profit, and if they don't see profit in Nepali movies, they won't show it. That's their business decision. 2. Nepali movies don't offer value for money. If i spend a little extra, i get benefits of watching a movie with literally millions of dollar extra in production value. And again, being a Nepali, value for money is almost the first thing I want. 3. Positive discrimination is not going to work, as i believe there will be many unwanted consequences. Maybe the subscription based streaming platforms will grow, or maybe something else will happen. But this is not the way. It is sad that Nepali movies seem to be suffering from a self-perpetuating feedback loop of being absolutely dog-shit, no-one going to watch the movie, producers not spending money, shitty actors being hired, shitty production, which again results in shit movie. And again, it is sad to say that i don't see that trend changing anytime soon.

I haven’t heard of this channel before. But it’s still getting there! Now I’m just becoming aware of why Nepalese cinema is filled with mockbusters of popular film/tv subjects and not the distinctive and well marketed money bangers that it should’ve had.

Criticism always sounds intelligent. It’s always 1000 times easier said than done. It is unfortunate most people like him do not understand the infancy state of the cinema as a medium for us Nepalese. Nepalese are still on a quest to find their own identity in cinema. People often wonder how come Nepalese can create such good literature and paintings and music but why films are so bad? The reason is Nepalese have been making arts and music for thousands of years but it’s been just over may be 2 decades nepal has been producing films without foreign involvements. Besides inadequate resources in finance and technology the industry also faces backlash from government policies. So if a 5 year old kid draws a “gu jasto” painting flushing it down the toilet is not always a kind thing to do.

Most nepali movies aren't that great, they follow the same formula thats nepali movies have had for the last 30-40 years. Why would anyone spend the same amount of money on a Nepali movie as compared to a Hindi or English movie with 100 times more budget?

Here I am just the opposite 😅 I mostly watch Hollywood movies and sometimes Nepali movies. The last time I watched a Indian movie in theatre was 'Darna mana hey' way back when I was a kid😂 The last Nepali movie I watched in theatres was 'Dimaag kharab' back in late 2023. That being said, good Nepali movies need to start a good marketing campaign 6 months before release date. If not 6 months then 4 months before release date.

Truth is beside few handful of movies, the ending of Nepali film always disappoints you. You feel what just happened at last. Also we are done with cringy romance and stupid family drama with unnecessary vulgar so called comedy. Even the screen plays and scripts were better 20 years ago than it is now. As a normal nepali citizen i would definitely spend my limited money on the best show which is like a gamble for me. Then i would want to watch a high budget hindi movie with a good story and acting over a dramatic nepali movie for the same price. Nepali movies have low budget with low marketing costs while indian movies are of high budget and are mostly worth my money. I also watch a lot of nepali movies on youtube which have got all the recognition they deserve. I dont see any problem here its simple economics where supply seeks to meet the demand.
