That is way less aggravating given that the rising sun was the emblem used by the Navy branch, not the army or Japan itself (which is still something a lot of people are not aware of). Showing it off or not when IJN forces are in play would be a very small insult compared to the lack of swastikas, iron cross and other famous insignias on the european theater since those were, in fact, standardized.

The fact that they swapped out the norwegian commandos with a mom and her daughter kinda turned me off of the game a bit. That move was kinda disrespectful to the real heroes of ww2 that stopped the germans from annihilating the west in atomic hellfire.

Also no one is talking about the fact that the developers daughter is underage to play the game if she didnt even reach the age to know about WW1 and WW2. The man is literally promoting illegal stuff. Edit: I didn't know that its just a suggestion and its not illegal, you can stop telling me now. I still stand by the fact that that girl is too young to play that game, even though my wording changed.

If they were so eager to represent women, why not introduce the Soviets who had many women in their army. A woman named Lyudmila Mikhailovna Pavlichenko was a female sniper in the red army, who got 309 confirmed kills, and holds the record for most sniper kills done by a female. If there have to be females in the game, I would love to try and play from her perspective, and not some random woman I know never would have been present during WW2.

Women made up approximately 25% of all Soviet partisans, i would have loved so see a female partisan in German occupied Czechoslovakia conducting guerrilla warfare the same can be said for Italy, Benito Mussolini was killed by partisans so maybe there could have been a mission titled “long live ll Duce”

actually battlefield 1 had the running around the map alone, and i loved it. I loved the feeling of loneliness and despair that game portrayed. ST. quentin scar was one of the most scariest and best looking maps to date in battlefield history. I remember in the campaign when ua re in the tank and u can see soldiers just having ptsd in the middle of the field just walking all depressed. Man bf1 truly captured that world war vibe

Only country that was dank at having the natives from Africa fight for them was France...a bit of England too, but their use of African units was pretty limited. There were many separatist movements in many countries, still are today. They nearly picked the ones that would be friendly to them in the long term so they could focus more on Europe in their own long term goals. The Soviets and the US were no different In supporting movements that supported their goals in the cold war

@@Dennis-nc3vw accuracy would be like do the uniforms look exactly as they would in history, is the right variant of the Sherman being shown in a battle, etc. Historical authenticity means more means does the overall representation at least feel as though it depicts the event in a way that feels real, it’s verisimilitude basically. So an accuracte game would go into painful detail to make sure everything happens as it did in history while an authentic game may take more creative liberties but still reliever a game that gives a good representation of what that period was like

The one mission that hurt me in this game was the first one set Norway to do with the heavy water. That mission doesn’t pay any contribution to the actual British Commandos who found out about the plant and what it contained. They only mentioned how they destroyed it afterwards but said it was the women that found out about the plants. This is entirely incorrect and it hurts to see people will have the wrong idea of history.

I find it really a shame. This game had a lot of pontetial and the Norwegian Story campaign was what I was most interested in but after seeing it. They didn't even try to keep it historical accurate. They took a fictional person and gave her the credit for what actually historical people did.

Nailed it in this one. I am glad this game tanked because of how self righteous and virtuous the devs think themselves. Tip: When you start scolding your player base and forcing an agenda your game is fucked.

It bothers me that they rewrote women into the story mode in stories that were of men... while not making stories about the actual women of ww2. A night witches raid would've been SICK or of like Lyudmila Pavlichenko would be amazing.

I'm just glad Dice and EA didn't decide to double down for the 2042 trailer. They listened to what we had to say and made a trailer that was incredibly badass

12:41 in a game dev forum i once saw someone asking advice about representation. there was a suggestion about randomizing genders, ages, ethnicities, sexuality, and so on. op asked "won't those who are randomly left out feel ... left out then?" only one group of people would make any fuzz about "feeling left out" if not represented in a game.

There were women in call of duty finest hour and in cod 3. It was done in a historical fashion. It wasn't forced. That was cool. Iron handed british chicks are none of those things.

Know what would have been better? Having a campaign story arch where a WW2 Nurse had to pick up a gun to survive. Using a stealthy approach and taking the clothing off of a man's body (maybe a soldier she was treating's clothes)then surviving until she can get to the allies. And have a moment when they say "Hey you're a woman." That would be so much more believable and badass

Throughout the war about 800,000 women served in the Red army, like Lyudmila Pavlichenko, a sniper with 309 confirmed kills, earning her the nickname "Lady Death", or Aleksandra Samusenko, a T-34 Tank commander who fought at the Battle Of Kursk, she later died from wounds in 1945, she was 23 years old. So... I don't know why they couldn't do something with that.

I think another reason BF5 was disliked was that it has nothing special. For example, the forsaken battlefields (Game spy BFs) had the commander role. BF1 had the behemoths. BF5 has sandbags and female characters. That's nothing special in my opinion.

If DICE wants to have women in the Game. Show videos of women contributing to War Effort. Let's see scenes of women in factories making bullets, guns and vehicles. Let's see those victory gardens. What about those linguistic and radio operators. And the nurses on the front line. This is what you can show that guy's daughter that women don't have to be on the front lines to contribute to the war effort.

I like ErzaSgirl's idea of something like that for the story like you shoot some important guy and it jumps to a cutscene where you see a woman in the factory making the bullets or gun.

The battle of Amien. The German Empire is attacking the British Empire. What if Germany won. If Germany captured the vital railroad junction. France would fall and Britain would make treaty while they plan there new strategy. This alternate history. This butterfly effect makes it really interesting and scary.

I think what I wrote here could have actually made sense, with that woman on the cover. I heard there was this Russian sniper chick who got like 300 confirmed kills, if they would have made a story about her in the campaign, like this Russian chick just suddenly arrives into Stalingrad, with a rifle and men are like” Whaaaat?, you’re a woman, how could you possible fight with us?” And you would play as this Russian chick, and the whole story would have been mostly sniper missions. As you play these missions and kill Germans, the Russian men would start to respect you and trust you and be like” Maybe you’re not so bad after all” or something like that I dunno 🤷‍♂️ But if you’d put this Russian chick in the game, and if you’d put her on the cover it would make more sense, cause she was an actual woman soldier, and an untold story. Idk why you keep saying historical accuracy isn’t the issue. It totally was a part of it. A big problem with CODWW2 is that they chose to censor the swastika which made it feel like I wasn’t actually in WW2 fighting against the nazis; the immersion was lost. Plus, on top of that, you could play as black female German soldier in multiplayer… like, a full pink cosmetic for darth Vader in SWBF2 doesn’t even sound that stupid compared to that 😂 and just as a matter of military standards you definitely would not be allowed to be deployed anywhere with a prosthetic, especially one that looks like a crows foot.

The reason for not including French faction in vanilla BF1 was quite legit, as well as Russian Empire/Red Army. Because later DICE brought two of some best DLCs of whole BF history with those factions. I'm quite okay with it so.

It was honestly such a bad affair with battlefield 5. If they wanted to have women they could have gone for the French maquis (badass guerilla fighters) or as so many people wanted, the battle of Stalingrad as there were women in the fight.

It’s like dice copied the bf1 code but forget half of it so rewrote it from memory

The thing that pisses me off the most is the people they are trying to pander to aren't even going to play the game for long. They just want to shill more money out of people.

Well they did promote the game to be a immersive WW2 game, however when you got black women Wehrmacht in the game it totally takes that feeling of war in this specific time period away. I really wanted to get this game but I think I might not in the end.

The last part of my comment is where my issue lies. Believe me, I'm right wing, I can't stand all the SJW, political correctness shit we see every day. But, the fact you're claiming you won't buy the game just doesn't make sense to me.. For what reason won't you? Do you buy video games to experience a 100% historically accurate experience, or to have fun? If the gameplay is addicting and insane to play, why the heck would you refuse to play the game based on a woman (or other historically inaccurate visuals) being in it? I hate feminazi's and forced diversity as much as anyone, but I'm not going to stop myself from enjoying an experience because I might see a black woman holding a rifle every now and then. Just seems crazy to me that you're willing to sacrifice your enjoyment of something because of something so pointless.

Yes very much. While it's still going to have many people who buy it since it's a big title, but you still will have the vocal minority who will refuse and then continue to play bad company 2

The futuristic Call of duties had great gameplay and crazy new features that were fun. People still didn't like them because of the terrible setting. The setting and atmosphere of a game are as important or even more important than its gameplay. If the game is not immersive it isn't fun. If I were playing games solely for the gameplay I could just play 1 fps game over and over because the gameplay is the same in almost all of them. A game with black female nazis breaks immersion. it would feel fake and wrong and forced. So I would not get the game because theres plenty of games out there that don't cater to social agendas.
