I was looking for this answer because I want to build a small RC Car. The ESC (Speed Controller) came with a Capacitor, but never said why or where to use it. I have seen Caps on Motors many times, and I know why to use Caps as it pertains to Addressable LED Lighting, and Audio Amps. I was just wanting to know why in the case of DC Motors. Nice Video.

I have a question about my fairly small motor used in my 15 inched long RC plastic submarine. I'm using 4 x 1.2V (4 x AAA rechargeable battery) as the power input for the ESC which has an operating voltage from 4V to 8V. The servo (direction) is working fine, however, the motor is going crazy (running at its full speed) after I triggered the transmitter from off position to anywhere between the two limits until I release it. Can you tell me what is possibly causing the problem? Again the Ch1 (direction) is under control but the Ch2 (throttle ) is not! Thank you very much

No. Only the interference is reduced. Not the motor's output.

hi ! What happens if I put a capacitor in parallel with each coil in the armature in a delta configuration instead of using just one in the input outside the motor ?

Oh that's simple it depends If it's dc and it is round or if it's the one the video showed then yes the CAPICITOR IS CALLED 104

I have a rs775 motor on a fan and has a 104 ceramic capacitor too, so it should be fine. I have a few rs755 now and considering putting a monolithic capacitor of the same value, 100nF, dont know if monolithic is better.

1000 uf 25v or 1000 uf 35v you can not use capacitor 10v 16v you motor is 20v more watt and uf is better but always need to use more of you motor ! no lower if you use lower power you capacitor will explode

Um I don't know just use the biggest capacitor you can find!

I have a 997 dc motor which rated voltage is 48 to 60. The thing is that I have 48 v 4.5 amp power adapter but this motor uses momentarily about 100 amps when at stall. i am making a powerful drill machine with it. Is is possible that I use a capacitor to momentarily provide that extra amps to be use it work perfectly?

Perhaps it could work, id suggest a non polar electrolytic capacitor. Again a NONPOLAR as it needs to be able to handle back emf

Makes sense, didn't know why my motor come with a capacitor. I thought they made a mistake... Now my question is, why don't they make this capacitor built-in?

Check out the surpass hobby brushed motors. It shows where it is. I just found out today myself. But for a 540 20t brushed motor, they want 45 to 50 bucks!

Does every DC motor need a capacitor? I got a 12V 1A 1000rpm DC motor and can't get it to constantly spin. It spins slowly, stops, and spins again over and over again.

It can cause interference with remote controlled ceiling fans too without a capacitor.

it takes away the back bmf. it wont go any further,capacitor is simply blockade for back bmf
