Why Anxiety Symptoms Increase On Your Period | ANXIETY RECOVERY

Link between heightened anxiety and your monthly cycle
Women may notice that their anxiety spikes during their monthly cycle. Why does this happen?
Anxiety not only affects your nervous system but also impacts your hormone production. Therefore, when your hormones fluctuate, as they do during your monthly cycle, you may experience heightened anxiety symptoms.
This parallels the experience of anxiety sufferers during the morning. Cortisol levels are at their highest in the morning for everyone, but individuals with anxiety often experience heightened anxiety during this time.
The same principle applies to females and their monthly cycle.

Yesssss I have been waiting for this!! I have recovered so well except parts of my period and I struggle…. On my period my vision gets darker I have so much dpr and brain fog… I feel numb and depressed until I’m done ovulating. Then I could conquer the world I feel amazing until 2-3 days before I get random heart flutters and dizziness I feel sick like the flu I get panic attacks it’s so hard to focus… then it starts again.

I have been experiencing this for the first over the past few months. I burned out pretty bad a few months ago from overworking myself and that brought in anxiety / made my nervous system hypersensitized. I have been recovering and responding to anxiety really well to where all of my physical anxiety symptoms dissipated over time, but every time I get my period, some of the anxiety symptoms come back and it does feel like a setback. It has happened the last few periods since I burned out, but each period has not been as bad as the last period so I just tell myself I’m still recovering and remind myself that it isn’t as bad as the last period I had.

I have a question. Do you think anxiety can cause irregular periods too? Stress is a factor that affects period cycles so even going through anxiety recovery, there are still stress hormones being released at random times during the day. Not saying it causes delayed periods every monthbut I have noticed that my cycles are just generally irregular since falling into the anxiety cycle and even now while going through the recovery journey. Got blood tests and ultrasounds and everything else seems to be fine. Just unexplained irregularity of periods

Such an important video! I feel like other anxiety/hypersensitivity coaches that are men don't address this, and then you can easily go down a rabbit hole and listen to all the content that blows the "issue" way out of proportion, and tell you that you have to fix it with all kinds of treatments! I watch this one every month to remind myself this TOO is just very much amplified from a sensitized nervous system, no big deal! Thanks to Shaan, Mirka and Kaylee ! :D <3
