Why am I so bad at Walleye Fishing? | FOUND EM'!!!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Walleye spring fishing has been very tough for me so far. It is one of those things that once you get on them you can really smash them but sometimes it feels like it can be impossible. I am loving the time in the boat this year! Can't wait to keep pumping out the videos!

Not sure if you have heard of Tom Boley's videos, but he does a great job of explain how to fish slip bobbers. Helpful tip so you dont have "swimming bobbers", raise the bait higher off the bottom. Keep up the videos.

It’s great to watch you. I love using a slip bobber for walleye. You use a bobber stop above the bobber to set your hook depth, about 8” off bottom, and don’t put anything below the bobber so that when your are casting and retrieving it the bobber goes right to the 1/8 ounce jig head tipped with worm or leech. Then you can reel in all the way. Super simple

Calm at night is great. Glow stick on bobber. Gives time to cast my rapala while watching the bobber. i use fixed bobber for spring crappie in shallow water too. 1.5 feet below the surface. No time for two poles!

Sometimes when the luck seems a little down and it don't matter what you do , and you just can't catch a fish , just sit back , relax and fish like you really don't care if you catch a fish . Enjoy the day , and the fact that you are doing what hundreds of others could only wish they were doing . Remember what it's like to just fish and have fun .

I have been trying the slip bobbering this year. I use the rubber stops and they were driving me crazy because they could get caught up or would not cast smoothly. However, I will try the thread now. Thanks for the tip!

Sir, thank you for taking the time to teach us all the tips and tricks. I got the new Helix 7 on my lake this weekend and tried out to the auto mapping feature (per one of your previous videos), I have to say I was the Nerd on the water. Freaking out about holes and cribs I found that I never knew were there, can't wait to map out the whole lake. Keep the videos coming, my little guy and I watch every one.

Slip bobber fishing reminds me of fishing off a dock. Years ago me and some co-workers were staying at a fishing lodge and slaying eater walleye off the dock using slip bobbers. A boat with some guests pulled up and they lifted up their net that had 2 walleye and about 12 empty beer cans in it. They saw our pile and said "you caught all those right here!?!? We fished all over the lake and only caught 2" Once you get the depth dialed in its deadly!!!

Don’t forget sometimes slip bobber with a jig and a leach works well. Also if ur fishing when it’s calm with a bobber, reel in a bit and give it a few light jig motions. Moves it up and down and covers more water. We never really use much bobbers till The hot July dog days. We fish very pressured walleyes on inland lakes in mi. These methods help sometimes.

Unfortunately the reserves have blocked all the roads leading there and apparently they're going so far as pointing guns at people. So did you try the plastics? I’ve had some epic days with plastic minnow imitations on a slip bobber, usually mid-summer when things are sometimes a bit slow. But also some days the real thing is the ticket... Called fishing not catching for a reason I guess.. Like your vids, keep them coming, personally I do t think they are “weak” at all!
