It was crazy watching this match!

FZD is a slow starter to all the matches and unfortunately not so strong mentally as Ma Long! He has to play 100% all the time and don't let games drop away. He has similar warming up problems and entering the zone like Zhang Jike. If the matches were in best of 7 he has time to warm up, otherwise he always faces problems. He is slow starter! Ma Long is still the CAPTAIN!

Ma will win since he has a longer resting time than Alexis, and Ma should have studied Alexis's play against Dong.

It’s great for the sport that the chinese titans are defeated sometimes. Fantastic achievement by Lebrun and also well played by FZD. FZD has had many moments in the sun. He can afford to share some glory ☺️

Great analysis indeed ! As a French i am already super happy he won this game 😊 but bright future for Alexis. Very looking forward to seeing more of these matches !

His general formula for success is creativity coupled with natural talent, good luck studying that.

European and Korean players seem to have strategy to play with the Chinese, they improve a lot in WTT series recently, FZD is still playing with force, not much on tactic, which they are avoiding to deal with and he has trouble with this

Alexis's soft block is very good! It's one of other reason!

Yeah underrated point. He can abruptly change the pace of the game, making his opponents uncomfortable.

I think the confidence of youth helps. He has nothing to lose, low expectations. Easier to climb to the top, very hard to stay there.

By last Zhendong's attack, Lebrun was forced to quickly return by very quick jerk that did spin the ball which eventually hit the table. Beautiful game. Also, Lebrun did return many balls that the former one did not expect, especially in the first part of the game.

One other reason could be that Alexis entered the match being sure for himself and the victory. Probably he has worked on his athletic psychology.

I thought china team let FZD to take a time, then prepare other chinese player to grab the champ title. FZD place at WR1 is full tank of fuels. Although taking a loser place is uncomfort actually, TT is fruitful sports. Lebrun was on fire and very good shape of next champ in TT

Over the years WTTF has messed up the sport by switching from 21 point to 11 point set, and now even with best of 5 instead of best of 7 for most games until very late stage of the tournament. It's just so random.

Such a biased and unfair review. You said nothing about his creativity and unconventional playing style and that FZD was confused, clear from FZD's face and body language. It was obvious when you started video with few times showing the edge ball. His game was --not-- a copy of Chinese players. He was way ahead even in the second game. I believe it is always very hard for you to give credit to players who beat Chinese players. Sometimes you said they lost intentionally sometimes it is luck, it is never bc they were outplayed. FYI, when European players were dominating the male game Kong Linghui was sent as a young man to Sweden to learn the European style of play. Finally I believe Alexis shakehand style was more inspired by european style that Chinese.

He also wins a lot...watch his careerpercentage....its getting more difficult nowadays because of the rise of level by more other players.....I like Fan because of his humble character and mentality...exciting to see if he can win in Durban...still favorite in best of 7 I think.

Look at Ma Long at his peak, he was unbeatable at that time(Especially against non-chinese players) but then there is FZD he lost to harimoto, demetri and now to alexi.

The match is tied at 2 games all, final game has FZD leading Lebrun 7-3. So all those point that led to a 10-9 game point in favor of Lebrun luck? That last point can be considered luck sure, but the over-all match can't just come down to Lebrun being lucky. That's a disservice to all the hard work he put into getting where he's at right now.

Unfortunately it is an empty video, loss of 4.28 min of our lives!

Alexis showed no respect (in a good way) and just played the ball. That is why he won. Pitchford could have won Ma Long but showed too much respect even gave the "shirt" point to Ma Long when Ma showed him the "shirt" sigh but there was no shirt even close and also Liam behaved like a boy playing with the man... so he couldn't win...
