Lifelong Bama fan and I truly believe this is perfect timing! If your being honest with yourself you've witnessed Bama slipping just a bit over the past 2 years, basically after Sark left! I believe this fresh start, luckily, with an elite staff will be great for Bama! I truly hope I'm not wrong, I believe Bama will continue to be Bama and expect a national championship in the near future! Probably not 6 in 17 years but 2 or 3 would be amazing! ROLL TIDE and ROLL COACH DEBO!

I agree 💯 it had become predictable and I love Nick to death. Will appreciate him always for taking us forward but it's now time for a new generation. I'm excited about the future of Alabama football. I believe Saban left it in good hands...roll tide

Teams had figured-out Nick’s Defensive strategy and were creating route conflicts in the secondary coverage rules. It happens to every scheme, offensively and defensively, after a period of time.

I couldn’t agree more, only the die hards could see the slip really seeing he retired after making a 4 team play-off but he was aware, even if ever so slightly, that his peak had been reached and it was the perfect most thoughtful time to pass the torch

My brother is excited we are going with different style DL. His man is Khurtiss Perry. Maybe he sees more playing time under Wommacks defense. Kinda light for 3-4. I'm excited to see Jordan Renaud. He's the front guy I see making a huge jump. He's real good against run and pass. Very strong as well. Edit: Sorry guys, I gotta start listening to the whole podcast before I comment.

Im looking ahead but lets face it. We have 2 coordinator's that left head jobs. We know they want to get to the next level. Im hoping whatever system Deboer is building that it is going to be the Alabama way for another 17+. He did run a 4-2-5 at Washington so that does tell us a lot!

You will see,and finally, much of the end of depending on Pattern matching(match up zone)that has led to SO MANY BUSTS,like backs out of backfield against Michigan. Vertical busts vs Tennessee+Texas, and so many more. Sometimes Coach couldnt hide his "baby" and "swallow his pride" and just play some 3 Deep Zone,2-High Safety Zone,or Quarters Zone....Disguise and play with blitzes and coverages. Guys like Heuppel,Sark, and others have that shit figured out that Coach wanted to do....

It wasn't Nick on the breakdowns. It was players being out of position. That's why he would get in their asses when they came to the sidelines. The players would bite on what they SAW, and forgot about what they were SUPPOSED to be doing. They got burnt when doing so.

Will there be more blitz packages in Womicks scheme,if you can get that pressure on the opposing QB,you can cause turnovers and bad decisions, you didn’t see a whole lot of blitzing with Saban

So with NIL, could Alabama pay some NFL players to play on Saturdays? Or even ex bama players that didn’t pan out in the NFL, with eligibility, to come back for a season. IE. Trent Richardson/Bryce Young/Waddle etc

once DeBoer gets a successful season under his belt, his cell phone will be ringing with guys who want to work at Bama. It had become difficult for NS to hire guys as he was within 1-3 years of leaving. Good coaches don’t leave good positions for short term gain.

Can y’all talk about rebuilding or readjusting taking 3 to 5 years for this team? I disagree in the fact that there is enough talent there if the players will buy into the new system and do the things the way that coach Debore wants them to do they can contendand possibly win the national championship this year

4-2-5? !!!!! Not a fan, mainly because the 50 looks like a 3-4-4 and is a better standard. AL has not recruited for 4 DL traditionally nor have they been super efficient at outside rush. Yeah we have had great players there, that have great sophomore seasons and then sand bag the rest of the time or in a play off game. The ILB have gotten the most praise and consistency. Our DL while good haven't been the same as some of those excellent players at the beginning of Saban's tenure. Kirby leaving really changed the character of the D. Yes AL lined up in what looked like 4DL at times but the base was 3-4-4. In my mind 4 DL are easier to block against as the 4 are more uniform in behavior versus two OLB. Nevertheless. TX beat us twice with a 4-3-4, so there's that. I am not feeling good about the defense.

When it comes to recruiting most kids want to play for a coach that actually played there position. Freddie Roach play Inside Linebacker. So he’s not going to win manny recruiting battles against coaches that actually played defensive line. RTR
