Buying an Porsche 911 GT3 RS? Then this is the video to watch. In this depreciation and buying guide of the 911 GT3 RS, I will show you how much the values changed in the last year and how much the car depreciates per 1000 miles. Moreover, I will show you how these numbers compare to the normal 996 997 and 991 carreras and some of its competitors like the Ferarri 488, McLaren 720S, and Mercedes Benz AMG GT R.

Porsche GT cars and especially the RS ones are known for their strong residuals. Unsurprisingly, values for the 911 991 GT3 RS increased. This is in line with the larger market trend. It is, however, not a prerequisite to own a GT3RS to benefit of this price increase. Cheaper 911s saw a much larger increase.
We start with a overview of today’s market and then transfer to the price change. It turns out that the GT3 RS increased with 20% and that this price increase is carried across the market. All segments such as the 991.1 and 991.2, and the cars with- and without the weissach package saw a price increase. Yet, when we compare this increase to the ones in the 996 and 997 carrera market, we can see that it’s actually rather modest. Especially the price increase in the 996 market is significantly higher. Partially this might be explain by the cheaper price point, an undervaluation at the start, and an increase in disposable income. The GT3 RS, though, does come out on top when we compare to some of its competitors. The price increase was larger than what we saw in the McLaren 720S, Ferrari 488, and Mercedes Benz AMG GT R.

I own a 2019 GT3 RS. Most amazing car I've owned. You're right, though. Everyone should try out an RS during their lifetime. I think they'd be impressed.

Would be interesting to get your take on the whole performance car market…is now a bad time to buy a £100k + car? Will the 20% growth in prices be wiped out during 2022 leaving today’s buyers with a serious loss….or will the car market stabilise around the current prices?

Looking at the history, there might be a small impact but usually nothing significant.
How did you choose the segmentation for your mileage comparison? Your buckets look kind of arbitrary. Are they the quintiles?

They are based on the quantiles.
There's definitely price manipulation going on. Just today a non weissach, steel brake, over 25000miles, couch seats with ugly brown leather 19 went for over $260k on bat.

If the data supporting the 996's and 997's is in fact true given the increase in values there, we may not see 991 prices come down after the 992 GT3RS comes out.
